3. INTRODUCTION
Solar panels (arrays of photovoltaic cells) make use of
renewable energy from the sun, and are a clean and
environmentally sound means of collecting solar energy.
The Solar Cooling Fan Caps are specially designed for
summer tourists as well as fishing and climbing mountains,
playing golf, sport meeting, people working outdoors and
children.
It's good for preventing sunstroke and lowering the
temperature and they make great gifts.
4. The solar cell can transfer solar energy directly into electric
power which can turn on the fan.
Its fanning can change automatically depending on the
availability of sunlight.

8. WORKING
The Solar panel of 3V is used and a rechargeable battery is provided
to store the energy.
An ON /OFF switch is provided for user controlled operation.
The uniqueness of this project is, the cap can sense the intensity of the
sun light temperature and automatically switches on the cooling fan
without user’s interference.
A battery charger circuit is designed to charge the battery with the help
of house hold AC supply for emergency conditions.
This circuit uses regulated 5V, 500mA power supply. 7805 three
terminal voltage regulator is used for voltage regulation.
Bridge type full wave rectifier is used to rectify the ac output of
secondary of 230/12V step down transformer.
10. ADVANTAGES
A solar fan is more environmentally friendly.

11. DISADVANTAGES
Solar energy can be used only during the daytime .
The solar batteries that are charged or needs to be charged
are very heavy and require large storage space.
Replacing of solar panels are also difficult.
Its low in efficiency.
The sun will only work if the delivery of photons is
consistent.
Replacing the solar energy panels is also a very difficult job.
13. CONCLUSIONS
Nowadays, Solar Cooling is both possible and reliable.
Exploitation of solar thermal energy for cooling is an
efficient, intelligent and environmentally friendly way to use
renewable energy sources to meet our air conditioning needs.
However, applications of solar cooling are actually too few.
This is both the cause and the result of the low levels of
penetration of this technology.
