Rivne region is a promising location for investors. Favourable
geographic position, significant industrial, resource and human potential,
well-developed infrastructure, social and cultural sphere provide strong

Nowadays it is an industrial and agricultural region, rich in natural
resources (wood, water, deposits of amber, basalts, granites, tuffs, peat,
feedstock for construction materials and glassware) and inhabited by
hard-working and friendly people.
With a view to efficient use of available resources and maintaining
high profitability of production the purposeful work on refocusing
economy into investment and innovative development model is being
conducted. Increase of investments inflow is a priority area for regional
authorities. At this point, systematic measures for promoting favourable

4. Rivne Region is located in the north-west of Ukraine and enjoys favorable
GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION
geographic position for servicing the markets of the European Union,
Russia, Belarus and Ukraine. The Region is situated at the crossroads of
international motorways and railways connecting Europe with Asia and
the Baltic Sea with the Black Sea. The distance to the EU border is just
100 km (1.5 hours drive) and 250 km (3 hours drive) to Kyiv, the capital
of Ukraine. During evaluation in 2007, the specialists of the Financial
Times admitted that Rivne region is the lowest cost location for business
in Europe located in its very heart.
