In this poem, O Shepherd, I have expressed the journey of all souls on Earth, their arrival and departure, I used a metaphor here, for the expression for our journey, struggles, toil, and return to their safe haven.
1. O Good Shepherd
- VJ Kuusinen
O Shepherd, O Good Shepherd,
Where have you been?
Thy sheeps, have fled the fences,
and this weather, so unseen!
Soaring, dark clouds above,
beneath, thundering wild winds !
Gather them, you benign soul,
herd them, thy sentient beings!,
In gentle demeanour, for miles they walk,
across low lands and high, they flock,
crossing the flowing rivers, meadows,
roads covered or blocked,
Ground soaked in runny waters,
muds, or streams,
they persistently refuse to be withheld,
in fences locked,
2. carefree saunters, is what they ought to be,
from
distant bounties of green pastures, they hail from,
and yet persistently hail for!
Wet windy weathers, yet their daily escapade,
never ends,
a walk to distant rendezvous, with many
distractions in between, with all intents to stop!
From a distance,
in the rolling hills, where they flock,
appears like, white cotton balls, disperesed across,
hihter and thither scattered around!
or
like flocks of white birds, in blue skies,
They flock, on The pastures, so green!
Sometimes detours, to reach their destined goals,
But seldom give in, to the hard weathers, if stored,
Even when grounds have gathered,
3. heavy rocks, or covered with snow,
or
too hot or too cold,
They tread, to their destination,
No matter what!
On their hoofs, they tirelessly stand,
to withstand, the heavy blows of winds,
on mountains and hilltops,
Fur coat keeps, them warm in winters,
but in summers, it needs, to be cropped!
Now, waiting for your call, O Shepherd,
Come back O Thee, as Thy sheeps roams free,
grazed on the greens, of rolling meadows,
now, full with their day's meal!
O Come back, Good Shepherd,
Where have you been?
Safely herd them back,
To, the safe haven, where they belong!
