Optic Disk and Retinal Vesssel Segmentation in Fundus ImagesIRJET Journal
This document presents research on segmenting the optic disk and retinal vessels in fundus images. It describes an algorithm that first applies anisotropic diffusion filtering and thresholding to enhance and extract the retinal vessel network. A graph cut method is then used to segment the optic disk, using either an MRF image reconstruction method or compensation factor method to address overlap of vessels into the optic disk region. The MRF method reconstructs the image in the optic disk region to remove vessels before segmentation, while the compensation factor incorporates local intensity characteristics of vessels. Experimental results on fundus images demonstrate the algorithm can accurately segment the optic disk and retinal vessels.
Abstract— The division is the urgent stage in iris acknowledgment. We have utilized the worldwide limit an incentive for division. In the above calculation we have not considered the eyelid and eyelashes relics, which corrupt the execution of iris acknowledgment framework. PAN Sharpening of Remotely Sensed Images using Undecimated Multiresolution De...journal ijrtem
ABSTRACT : In many applications satellite images are used on the basis of resolution, where a high resolution is one of the major issues in the remotely sensed image. In this paper, we propose a new pan-sharpening technique to enhance the resolution of the satellite image by injecting the high frequency details from High-Resolution Panchromatic (HRP) image into Low Resolution Multi-Spectral (LRMS) image using Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) and Stationary Wavelet Transform (SWT). SWT algorithm is designed in such a way to overcome the lack of translation-invariance of DWT and is used to enhance the edges on the intermediate stage by preserving spatial information. Translation-invariance is attained by eliminating the down samplers and up samplers present in the DWT. Results show that the performance of the proposed fusion method is better than that of the state-of-art methods in terms of visual quality and other several frequently used metrics, such as the Correlation Coefficient, Peak Signal to Noise Ratio and Root Mean Square Error. Analysis on quality of roads using geoinformaticsSourabh Jain
This document discusses using geospatial technologies like GIS and remote sensing to evaluate road quality by detecting pavement defects. It presents two case studies: one using unsupervised methods and image processing to detect potholes with 81% accuracy, and another using 3D line laser scanning from vehicles up to 100kph to automatically measure rut depth on roads with 5mm accuracy. These innovative techniques can effectively identify road deterioration like potholes and rutting to help transportation agencies better plan maintenance and rehabilitation.
This document discusses predictive maintenance and how to develop predictive maintenance algorithms using MATLAB. It defines predictive, preventative, and reactive maintenance. It then outlines the steps to develop a predictive algorithm, including acquiring sensor data, preprocessing the data, identifying condition indicators, training a model, and deploying the model. It provides examples of developing algorithms for fault classification and remaining useful life estimation using sensor data from a triplex pump.
The document analyzes the readability of barcodes on soil sample bags under different conditions. It describes a study where barcodes with varying symbologies, error correction levels, and label locations were scanned. The results showed that barcodes on the side of bags generally had a higher failure rate than those in front. The highest failure rate was for a QR code on the side with low error correction. Barcodes with PDF417 symbology and medium or high error correction on the front scanned 100% successfully.

An Approach for the Detection of Vascular Abnormalities in Diabetic Retinopathyijdmtaiir
Diabetic Retinopathy is a common complication of
diabetes that is caused by changes in the blood vessels of the
retina. The blood vessels in the retina get altered. Exudates are
secreted, micro-aneurysms and hemorrhages occur in the
retina. The appearance of these features represents the degree
of severity of the disease. In this paper the proposed approach
detects the presence of abnormalities in the retina using image
processing techniques by applying morphological processing
techniques to the fundus images to extract features such as
blood vessels, micro aneurysms and exudates. These features
are used for the detection of severity of Diabetic Retinopathy.
It can quickly process a large number of fundus images
obtained from mass screening to help reduce the cost, increase
productivity and efficiency for ophthalmologists.

Rapid forensic toxicology screening by high resolution mass spectrometry is a powerful technique. However, some compounds cannot be unambiguously identified with high resolution MS1 measurements alone. MS/MS fragmentation yields confident identifications of these compounds, but how to ensure quality MS/MS of these compounds? Data dependent techniques, although very powerful, cannot guarantee the measurement of all possible MS/MS candidates. Targeted MS/MS ensures acquisition of the target compounds, but limits the number of compounds. Data-independent techniques, such as SWATH™ acquisition (the MS/MS of all possible candidates), improve identifications significantly and enable retrospective analysis of the data. The impact of improvements to SWATH acquisition, including variable precursor window sizes, overlapping windows, and data processing were evaluated.

The biomechanics of running involves the study of the mechanical principles underlying running movements. It includes the analysis of the running gait cycle, which consists of the stance phase (foot contact to push-off) and the swing phase (foot lift-off to next contact). Key aspects include kinematics (joint angles and movements, stride length and frequency) and kinetics (forces involved in running, including ground reaction and muscle forces). Understanding these factors helps in improving running performance, optimizing technique, and preventing injuries.
PGx Analysis in VarSeq: A User’s PerspectiveGolden Helix
Since our release of the PGx capabilities in VarSeq, we’ve had a few months to gather some insights from various use cases. Some users approach PGx workflows by means of array genotyping or what seems to be a growing trend of adding the star allele calling to the existing NGS pipeline for whole genome data. Luckily, both approaches are supported with the VarSeq software platform. The genotyping method being used will also dictate what the scope of the tertiary analysis will be. For example, are your PGx reports a standalone pipeline or would your lab’s goal be to handle a dual-purpose workflow and report on PGx + Diagnostic findings.
The purpose of this webcast is to:
Discuss and demonstrate the approaches with array and NGS genotyping methods for star allele calling to prep for downstream analysis.
Following genotyping, explore alternative tertiary workflow concepts in VarSeq to handle PGx reporting.
Moreover, we will include insights users will need to consider when validating their PGx workflow for all possible star alleles and options you have for automating your PGx analysis for large number of samples. Please join us for a session dedicated to the application of star allele genotyping and subsequent PGx workflows in our VarSeq software.
