Mount Abu is a hill station located in Rajasthan. Some of its main attractions include the Gaumukh Temple known for its stone cow head spring, Nakki Lake which is India's only high altitude artificial lake, and the Dilwara Jain Temples famous for their architecture and marble carvings. 3. History
• माउंट आबू का प्राचीन नाम अबबुदांचल है। पबराणों में , इस
क्षेत्र को अबबुदारण्य (" अबबुदा का जंगल") कहा गया है और
'अबू' इस प्राचीन नाम का एक छोटा हहस्सा है।
• एक और पौराणणक कथा है जजसके अनबसार "अबबुदा" नामक
एक नाग ने नंदी (भगवान शिव का बैल) की जान बचाई
थी। यह घटना उस पवुत पर हबई जजसे वतुमान में माउंट
आबू के नाम से जाना जाता है और इसशलए उस घटना के
बाद पहाड़ का नाम "अबबुदारण्य" रखा गया, जो धीरे-धीरे
अबू हबआ।

4. Tourist Attraction : Mt. Abu
• One needs to climb 700 steps to reach the top most section
of the temple.
• This temple is dedicated to Saint Vashishtha. It is said that
Saint Vashishtha performed a Yagna at this place which
created the 4 major Rajput clans.
• The temple was built by cutting it out from a huge rock,
the temple has a stone carved cow's head that has a natural
spring flowing through the mouth of a marble cow.
• Nearby there are statues of Nandi, Saint Vashishtha, Lord
Ram and Lord Krishna.

5. Nakki Lake
• It is the only Indian artificial lake which is situated at a
height of 1200 km above sea level.
• As per legends, this lake was made by deities by using
nakh's or nails. That is why it is famous by the name of
Nakki Lake.
• Boating in this lake is also a memorable experience for
the tourist.

6. Dilwara Jain Temples
• Famous for its exceptionally striking architecture and marble
carving, Dilwara temple is one of the most beautiful Jain temples in
the world.
• A profound example of the Nagara style of architecture, Dilwara
temple was built between the 11th and the 13th century by Vastupal
Tejpal. Within the temple there are 5 small temples.
• The ornamental detail spreading over the minutely carved ceilings,
doorways, pillars and panels is simply marvelous.

• Sunset point :Spectacular sight of the setting sun when the
hills are covered in the golden glow can be viewed from
here.
• Honeymoon Point: Also known as Anadra Point, offers
an enchanting view of the verdant plains and valleys. The
place looks most beautiful during the dusk hours.
• Gardens and Parks: Beautifully laid parks and gardens
are interspersed throughout the hilly paradise. Ashok
Vatika, Gandhi Park, Municipal Park, Shaitan Singh Park
and Terrace Garden are some of the noteworthy gardens.
