Toliets
1. Small area makes it echo and sounds
Glass is reflective waves bounce around
Objects also make the sound waves
bounce around easily and echo.
In the toilets it is very clear to hear the speech recording making it high pitch. In the toilets because
it is an enclosed area the sound waves bounce off other objects and can be heard back again
therefore producing a small echo as there is no other sounds to absorb the sound waves. This is
different to outside because the sound waves had nothing to bounce off and therefore the sound
waves are lost through the air and in the canteen other sounds absorb the sound waves making the
speech harder to hear. The plaster board can deaden the sound and the ceramics can absorb as well
as reflect the sound waves. In the canteen it had more sounds to reflect off objects and because
there is no other sounds in here it echoes quite a bit.
