2. The objective scientific research on
human sexuality starts with the
laboratory investigation of the sexual
response of males and females by
Masters and Johnson during 1950’s.
Masters & Johnson’s famous book
«HUMAN SEXUAL RESPONSE» was
revealing lots of facts about male and
female sexuality; and debunking lots of
myths and dogmas about human
sexuality. This book was one of the
milestones on sexuality and sex therapy

Human Sexual Response, revealed lots of
facts about male and female sexual
physiology, particularly orgasmic
response. First time, status orgasmus was
defined in this book.

3. This book was translated into Turkish by myself in
1993, 28 years after its first publication in USA,
and published by Technical and Scientific
Translation Foundation established by Prof.
Tuncer Özkan, a psychiatry professor, who will
also be awarded with National Sami Zan Medical
Award in this Conference.

Although the definition of female orgasm was
made during the times of Dionysus Cult, 6th
Century B.C. and in the literature of Far East long
time ago, such as Tantric writings, Kama Sutra and
ancient Taoist Chinese texts; for a long time
during the dark ages the term «ORGASM» until
20th century was forgotten.
Orgasm comes from the word «Orgia» which
meant 3-4 days fertility festivals in the secretive
elite town ELEUSIS, 6th century B.C.

During 19 th Century Western Medicine
saw female orgasm as a PATHOLOGY. The
medical doctors used to call it as:
HYSTERICAL PAROXYSM OR
A PSYCHOLOGICAL EPILEPTIC FIT
Many doctors used to treat hysteria or
hysterical paroxysm, by means of
inducing a manual stimulation which
induced a clitoral orgasm, which relieved
the symptoms of HYSTERIA.
Today it is an established scientific fact
that masturbation and female orgasm is a
very healthy sexual response; and every
woman should experience it for a healthy
psychology or a body physiology! Lack of
female orgasm may result in many
psychological disorders and
psychosomatic problems!

9. Today in some cultures female orgasm is
considered as a SIN or something to be
ashamed of!
During the last 30 years Turkish Culture
have swung between the novels of Kafka
and Orwell and Huxley!
At this 21st Century, when we have so much
information about female sexuality, «using
the terms of ORGASM and PLEASURE are
EVEN forbidden or banned at some
universities» just like in the novel «1984» by
Orwell.
Some University Professors and/or Rectors
suggest us to use «LOVE» instead of
«orgasm» and «pleasure». Also some
university professors are intimidated to use
the term ORGASM to protect their positions!
A new medical terminology is being
created contradicting with the global
terminology of science and medicine,
just like in DOUBLE SPEAK!

11. In Turkey during the Last 30 years ;
• Orgasm Consistency Dropped by half
• Masturbation Rates Dropped by more than half
• Having Fantasy Dropped by more than 50 %
• Anorgasmia Increased by 3 times
• Being Content of Their Sexual Lives Dropped by 2.5 times
• Vaginismus increased nearly 5-6 times (It is estimated that
one woman in six (1/6) is suffering from vaginismus)
• Rapes increased
• Psychosomatic disorders due to sexual function disorders

23. THIRD MILESTONE IN SEXOLOGY AND SEX THERAPY
Third milestone came with using the
sophisticated devices of imaging of the
brain and the body, such as tomography,
MR, fMRI and PET or regional blood flow.
By using fMRI, in 1990 and 2000s a lot of
novel findings on male and female sexual
physiology were discovered.
By means of using fMRI, Beverly Whipple,
Barry Komisaruk and Nan Wise
discovered many novel facts about,
particularly, female sexuality and sexual
physiology.

24. THIRD MILESTONE IN SEXOLOGY AND SEX THERAPY
The discovery of Grafenberg’s Spot (first
defined in 1950s) was the first milestone
of new ground breaking discoveries on the
physiology of female orgasm (1982).
The book G-Spot (by Ladas, Perry &
Whipple, 1982) changed lots of views on
female orgasm and female sexuality.
Whipple et al proved that an embryologic
prostate residue in women,
innervated by the PELVIC NERVE, gave
pleasure to women if stimulated correctly
and contributed to the occurance of
VAGINAL ORGASMS in females. In some
women G-spot stimulation directly
induced orgasms.

25. THIRD MILESTONE IN SEXOLOGY AND SEX THERAPY
Whipple et al also discovered the female
ejaculation. During G-Spot stimulation and
G-Spot Ejaculation some women squirted a
fluid which was not urine (chemical analysis
was made) and had a similar composition of
seminal fluid. (see, the book G-Spot).
Some women whose G-Spot was sensitive
experienced, most of the time, vaginal
orgasms and sometimes female ejaculation
which gave great pleasure to them.
The frequency of G-Spot sensitivity was very
much close to the frequencies of the
occurance of VAGINAL ORGASMS:
Which is 30-35 % in USA
And 17-20 % in Turkey (our surveys)

Beverly Whipple et al also discovered the
importance of Pelvic Floor Muscles (PFM, PC-
Muscle) for the induction of FEMALE
ORGASMS.
Surprisingly, the training of PC-Muscles by
means of Kegel Exercises (discovered by a
gynecologist Arnold Kegel, in 1940s)
increased the orgasm frequency and
intensity, as well as, increasing the G-Spot
awareness.

29. FOURTH MILESTONE IN SEXOLOGY AND SEX THERAPY
In 2000s, the role of VAGUS Nerve in
Women was discovered using fMRI
imaging in orgasming women.
In the book «SCIENCE OF ORGASM»
(2006, Komisaruk et al) the Role of
Nervous Innervation which takes
part in women during orgasm was
explained. Science of Orgasm was
the next generation book of Human
Sexual Response since 1960s. And
changed many beliefs and myths,
establishing new FACTS using the
data of fMRI imaging.
It was discovered that 52 % of
hemiplegic women
could attain orgasm via Vagus Nerve,
when the cervix was stimulated! This
information never came to Turkey!

35. NEW DEFITION OF FEMALE ORGASM
• Female Orgasm is a phenomenon in which;
• Increment of sexual excitement and tension builds up,
• The contractions at vulva, clitoris, vagina and uterus
develop,
• Rythmic contractions of 0.8 sec first in the genitals and then
spreading over the body occurs,
• A psychological relief, extreme pleasure, exctasy state
occurs,
• Many changes in the neurotransmitter release, such as
dopamine and oxytocin takes place.
• 2-3 separate contractions or continuous 10-15 contractions
or non-stop consecutive contractions may occur, as in status
orgasmus.
• Altered states of consciousness of various kind may occur in
prolonged orgasms.
• A kind of PEAK EXPERIENCE prevails.

36. The Female Sexual Response has different components:
1-Excitement
2-Plateau
3-Orgasm
4-Resolution
According to novel definitions it is claimed to have
another component in some women:
1-Excitement

38. DEFINITION OF EXPANDED SEXUAL RESPONSE (ESR)
“being able to attain long lasting and/or prolonged and/or
multiple and/or sustained orgasms and/or status orgasmus
that lasted longer and more intense than the classical
orgasm patterns defined in the literature
Status orgasmus is the continuous form of blended orgasms and/or
clitoral/vaginal orgasms that last for starting from 1 minute to 10-15 minutes
(or more). During status orgasmus a continuous orgasmic state is experienced
and very few women are believed to achieve status orgasmus state. Status
orgasmus can be seen in vaginal and clitoral orgasms, however mostly it is
seen as an expanded/extended form of blended orgasms, in which both
clitoral and vaginal orgasm reflexes are triggered at the same time

42. NEVER ENDING ORGASMS (NEOs)
As a further step of Expanded Sexual Response (ESR) a
new term has been defined in 2018, reminding Tantric
Orgasms defined 2000 years ago. (see the documentary
in You Tube: Never Ending Orgasms)
Never Ending Orgasms (NEOs) are orgasms in ESR women
when the ESR women continously attain orgasms
without cessation as long as they are stimulated (clitoral,
vaginal, G-Spot Orgasms, blended orgasms or status
orgasmus)
A research group in United Kingdom, determined some
550 women who had the capacity of NEO. They continued
orgasming as long as they were stimulated. They called it
SUPER ORGASMS.

THESE ARE THE SCIENTIFICALLY SUPPORTED FACTS WHATEVER SOME TURKISH THERAPISTS SAY!
1-G-Spot and G-Spot orgasms exist in some women (Global % 30-35; Turkey: 15-
20 %)
2-Contrary to what Turkish Gynecologists and Sex Therapists say, VAGINAL
ORGASMS exist in women (Global 30-34 %; Turkey: 15-20 %)
3-Blended orgasms (unification of clitoral and vaginal orgasms) exist in women.
4-A phenomenon called Expanded Sexual Response (ESR) exists in women.
(Global: 10-15 %; Turkey: 8-10 %)
5-A phenomenon called status orgasmus exist in women (Global: 1-2 %; Turkey:
less than 0.5 % ).
6-A novel phenomenon called as Never Ending Orgasms (NEOs) or Super
Orgasms exist in women. These women can attain orgasms without resolution
phase and without cessation as long as they are stimulated. (Global estimate:
0.05 %)
7-The female orgasms are governed by 4 different nerve pathways and 2
oxytocin pathways. These nerve pathways are: pudental, pelvic, hypogastric and
vagus nerve.
8-Most of these proposals have been detected and proven by
electrophysiological methods and different imaging techniques (such as fMRI
and PET).
