 Simple Present Tense
 simple present tense in the following conditions:
• To show a fact or something that is always true
• For activities that we do daily -regularly or
habitually
• To express thoughts, feelings, opinions and
beliefs

• We use this tense with a few adverbs to indicate something that
happens rarely

 Situations where we need to use the present simple tense:
 1. Simple present tense is used to talk about routine, habits, or events that
 occur regularly.
E.g. Ashika boards the bus at 8:30 every day.
 2. Simple present tense is used to talk about likes, dislikes and preferences.
E.g. I always order cheese garlic bread at this restaurant; it’s my favourite here.
 3. Simple present tense is used to talk about factual information and statements that are true
irrespective of time and place.
E.g: The sun rises in the East.
 4. Simple present tense is used to describe things that are true in the present.
E.g: Mary is an excellent writer.
 5. Simple present tense is used to describe events that are fixed to take placein the future.
E.g: The bus leaves at 9:30 am tomorrow.
