• The term generally refers to ‘Parables of Jesus’. But, its
referencing can be found in all spiritual texts.
• A short story designed to allegorically teach some religious
principle, moral lesson or general truth.
• It includes real life characters and literal references to
which anyone can relate.
3. WHAT IS LEADERSHIP?
• According to the idea of transformational leadership , an effective
leader is a person who does the following:
i. Creates an inspiring vision of the future.
ii. Motivates and inspires people to engage with that vision.
iii. Manages delivery of the vision.
iv. Coaches and builds a team, so that it is more effective at achieving
the vision.
This definition of leadership does not tell about what are the attributes
that an effective and efficient leader must posses.
4. WHAT IS PARABLE OF LEADERSHIP?
• Leadership can not be defined in just words. It has to be experienced.
• The old stories from the temples of Kyung Nam, Korea provide us with lessons
that came from oriental masters who taught the wisdom of life through
parables.
• These parables provide us with the insights to capture the unseen space of
leadership.

superficial words and understands the true feelings and desires of the
people.

• He should be humble and have the ability to recognize the inner
strength of his people.
• He should have easy approachability, so people don’t hesitate to reach
out to him.

being autocratic or directive.
• He should not behave like a boss rather work alongside his people and

• Only when a leader have a good and understandable bond with his
people will he be able to rise above all odds.

A leader to be great and successful has to have the following qualities:
• He should be able to hear the unheard and unsaid.
• Should be calm, composed and compassionate.
• Should be easily approachable.
• He should be supportive rather than being directive.
• He should be welcoming any change which can bring about positivity
and development in the organization.
• He should be able to identify the strengths of people and assign task
best befitting it to get the maximum output.
