SUBJECT:Begin Business Plan for Potential Future Investment
Background In the beginning of the semester you requested that I research a topic related to a
personal decision such as a future goal. I am currently employed at a yoga studio and have a
general understanding of the hard work that goes into running a small business. At the same time, I
also directly see the benefits of owning a successful business. As a business management major, and
someone who enjoys practicing yoga, I believe opening my own yoga studio is a potential career
choice for me.

Secondary Data. Secondary data will be found though official publications such as websites that
provides real estate information, as well as statistics about the area's median income, population, etc.
Primary Date. Proper primary data will not be found at this time due to the timeline of this research.
Once the proposal is approved, and the research is further conducted, I will be able to present
primary data when the project is realistically implemented in ten years from now.
Data Analysis
The research obtained for the financial features of this project will be shown through a spreadsheet.
The financial statement will be for this current year instead of the time period when I choose to
apply this project because it would be unrealistic, as well as extremely difficult to research the future
expenses of such large ticket items.

Research Project Proposal
To complete this research project proposal process, learners must locate a supervisor and submit a
research proposal detailing the proposed research project to be undertaken before registering. The
purpose of this research proposal is to help the learner design and plan a research project which the
learner is interested in undertaking and to explain this project to other people. The proposal should
include: what you plan to do in your research why this work is necessary or desirable
specifications for how you will do it a persuasive argument that you are the right person for the
position Your Supervisor will have...show more content...
What benefits would there be to solving this problem? What value would it have to the specific
research community, the industry, society, South Africa or the world? What will be the contribution
or significance of your research if it is successful? How will it contribute to the existing body of
knowledge in this field? Why should anyone be interested in your research?
p. 3
In this section you should motivate why this would be a good research project.
3. Review of Literature
In this section you should show where in current literature the problem was first recognised as well
as what serves as the foundation for your research proposal. The more references you can find that
relate to the given problem statement, the more credibility it will have. This will give the reader an
idea whether you have done your "homework" and know enough about the topic to start with the
research project. A basic understanding of the field is required. Any fundamental theories relating to
your research proposal should also be stated, for example, if your research topic is project
management, reference should be made to current standards, best practices and any de facto
documents.
4. Project Description
This part of your proposal may include the following:
a. Problem statement
What is the problem for which a solution is being sought? It is very important that a real–world
problem must exists for which there is currently no effective solution.

First, the respondents shall fill out a self–administered questionnaire. Ideally, the respondents will
grade each statement in the survey–questionnaire using a Likert scale (Barnett, V. 1991), with a
five–response scale wherein respondents will be given five response choices.
The equivalent weights for the answers will be: Range Interpretation 4.50 – 5.00 Strongly Agree
3.50 – 4.49 Agree
2.50 – 3.49 Uncertain
1.50 – 2.49 Disagree
0.00 – 1.49 Strongly Disagree
The researcher opted to use the questionnaire as a tool since it is easy to construct having the rules
and principles of construction are easy to follow. Moreover, copies of the questionnaire could
reach a considerable number of respondents either by mail or by personal distribution. Generally,
responses to a questionnaire are objectified and standardized and these make tabulation easy. But
more importantly, the respondents' replies are of their own free will because there is no interviewer
to influence them. This is one way to avoid biases, particularly the interviewers' bias. The researcher

A Research Proposal On Big Data
Research Proposal The research proposal can be developed from the topic of big data to match
up the demands of enormous data flow in the dynamic world. Data visualization tools at
significant cost can help up in analytics of big data and can form an innovative research proposal
for analysis and extensive research. The real time data and the use of techniques of big data in
this domain can form an excellent topic of research calling for formulating methodologies and
strategies to tap the untapped potential of this field and to experiment more in the field of
research. Since, real time processing acts as a game changer in big data the research developed
would be to have an insight into real time analytics and streaming data to analyze the flow and to
evaluate it using certain tools and techniques. This is one of the greatest challenge that is acting
as a key barrier in widespread adoption and pervasive use of the tools fostering for development
and progress in this field of study. The real time of the big data analytics would require some of
the unique features and special computing powers and potentials (Gantz, 2012). Tools have to made
specially advanced so as to incorporate process terms in real time (Chen, 2012). Every business
oriented organization should be transformed into information centric (Kaisler, 2013) to focus upon
the real time data analysis in terms of both input and output. However, there are some of the risks
associated with adoption of big data for the

Cyber-Bullying: A Brief Research Proposal Essay
Introduction Internet usage in children and adolescents has been increasing in a steadily fashion in
the past number of years and with the increase in internet usage, a new form of bullying has
developed – Cyber bullying. Cyber bullying can be defined as "the electronic posting of
mean–spirited messages about a person," (Merriam–Webster, 2012). This form of bullying can come
through various mediums including but not limited to text messages, emails, videos, and social
networking sites. There is an overwhelming amount of information that defines cyber bullying,
identifies the demographics of bullies and victims of cyber bullying, and identifies the outcomes of
cyber bullying on victims. More focus needs to be placed on who the perpetrators...show more

Additionally, a large amount of cyber bullying tends to take place within social groups. Perpetrators
of need not be the traditional strong, powerful bully but could be the individual who is too shy to
intimidate others in the traditional sense so they turn to the cyber world where they may remain
somewhat anonymous (Juvonen & Gross, 2008; Mishna, Cook, Gadalla, Daciuk, & Solomon,
2010; Mishna, Saini, & Solomon, 2009). One study showed that over half of the perpetrators of
cyber bullying are friends of the victim, and a further amount of perpetrations know the victim
(Kowalski & Fedina, 2011). It has been demonstrated in a number of studies that the more time an
individual spends on the computer and internet, the more likely they are to be cyber bully victims,
perpetrators or both the victim and bully (Mishna, Khourg–Kassabri, Gadalla, & Daciuk, 2012;
Sengupta & Chaudhuri, 2011). The most common mediums of cyber bullying are through email,
instant messages, or internet social networking sites; however, the medium with the greatest
impact on its victims is picture or video bullying (Beran & Li, 2005; Kowalski & Fedina, 2011;
Slonje & Smoth, 2008). It has been suggested in the past that children who have access to social
networking sites are more likely to be perpetrators or victims of cyber bullying, however, results
from one study indicates this is not the case. Alternatively, it was suggested

This is applied research where a knowledge development objective is the end result (Blanche &
Durrheim, 1999: 41).
2.2Type of Research Design
A research design can be understood as the planning of any scientific research from the first to the
last step. In this sense it is a program to guide the researcher in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting
facts (Bless and Higson–Smith, 1995:63).
For the purpose of this study, the researcher intends to use a cross–sectional research design where
all the data will be collected at the same time. The distribution of the research questionnaires will
take place over a time period of two weeks where the main data will be collected from the
respondents.
2.3Data collecting methods and data analysis
The data gathering will be done with a questionnaire the researcher designed her self that will assess
work satisfaction of social workers. The questionnaire is named the Questionnaire on Social Workers
Work Satisfaction in Welfare Organizations. This questionnaire firstly has the objective to collect
certain vital demographic information from the respondents. Secondly, it covers aspects on how the
respondents perceived their work environment, their experiences in so far their work

Although an estimated 85.5% of American households were considered food secure in 2010,about
48.8 million people weren't (Andrews et al.). These households struggled with being ableto access
proper and enough food for the members of their home to have healthy growth anddevelopment. In

majority of residents in Southeast San Diego (Burke and Cavanaugh)
Background of the Study
Food insecurity is not an inequality limited to developingcountries but rather manifests itself
globally and locally. Thereare multiple definitions for food insecurity and it can beassessed on
different magnitudes of scale ranging from global, national, local, to the household. I will focus on
the householdlevel of food insecurity in Southeast San Diego, but first willlay out the other analyses
of food insecurity.
The Global
The World Food Summit in 1996 defined food insecurity as thelack of "physical and economic
access to sufficient, safe andnutritious food to meet their dietary needs and food preferences for an
active and healthy life"(FAO). On a global scale, one inseven people do not have access to adequate
food (Siegenbeek van Heukelom).
The National
Food insecurity is demonstrated in national statistics of measuring how many people are food

Crime Research Proposal
RESEARCH PROPOSAL EXAMPLE 4. THIS PERSON RECEIVED A "9.8" INTRODUCTION
Micheal Gottfredson and Travis Hirschi's general theory of crime purports to be able to predict all
crime at all time and that a person's level of self–control is determined and unchangeable by age
eight. This researcher saw this theory as an awfully broad statement and an extremely pessimistic
view of human nature. By this logic, a person with a low score on the selfcontrol construct would be
almost guaranteed to commit crime given the appropriate opportunity and little can be done to
change that behavior. This researcher proposes that self–control can be learned and bolstered later in
life through extensive behavior modification programs that work to curb the...show more content...
Self–control theory enthusiasts claim that the characteristics of those with self–restraint are not
well–matched with the elements that characterize criminal and deviants acts (Gibbs et al 1998),
consequently this researcher hypothesizes that increasing self–control and restraint through behavior
modification will make criminal sexual opportunity less appealing and therefore decrease recidivism.
Dr. Lane, Research Proposal Ex 4, Spring 2001, page 2
LITERATURE REVIEW The general theory of crime is relatively new and controversial theory in
the realm of criminology. Micheal Gottfredson and Travis Hirschi published A General Theory of
Crime in 1990 and it went on to become the second most cited book in the entire 1990s (Pratt and
Cullen, 2000). Their theory is based on the argument, not unlike Hirschi's social bonding theory that
criminal activity is gratifying and the key to understanding participation in crime is discovering what
prevents people from breaking the law. They contend that committing crime and other analogous
behaviors (drinking, gambling, drug use, reckless driving, and unsafe sexual practices) start
manifesting in conduct problems early in life. The term "low self–control" is used to describe the
enduring "criminality" or "criminal propensity" that increases the likelihood that individuals will be
unable to resist the easy, immediate

Research Proposal : Gender Equality
Research Proposal: Gender Equality in America
For my research project, I would like to show the evolution of gender equality that has occurred in
American society in the workplace. The disparity of status and privileges between men and women
has existed since the end of the World War II. Although America has made progress concerning the
acceptance of social issues such as same sex relationship and marriage, people are still unwilling to
acknowledge that gender inequality is still rampant among our society. Gender equality hasn't
been achieved yet, particularly in corporate America that has an insignificant number of women
in the upper ranks; fewer women occupy a post of chief executive officer, chief financial officer,
or any other leading positions. For my research question I will be asking: "How is America
making progress on gender equity?" Fundamentally, I believe that women are still misrepresented,
and are still facing many challenges in the workplace, especially in the business world. The gender
stereotypes play a considerable role in the way the society sees women as leaders. However, it will
be judicious to consider the small but noticeable changes that have been made over the past years
concerning gender equality in the American workplace.
The research on the evolution of gender equality is related to my success, because as a women
business major, it is my responsibility to be aware of the issues women face in the business world,
dominated by men.

LITERATURE REVIEW
There are various different leadership styles that organizations normally adopts & each one of them

a)Laissez Faire Leadership
b)Transactional Leadership
c)Transformational Leadership
LAISSEZ FAIRE LEADERSHIP
Laissez faire is the absence of effective leadership (Yukl G, 2010). Laissez faire leaders ignore
problems and follower (Yukl G, 2010) and they do not contribute to the growth of the follower (
(Northouse, 2007). Feedback, rewards and leader involvement are totally absent in this type of
leadership hence reduced organisational commitment.
TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP
A TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADER is a person who stimulates and inspires followers to achieve
extraordinary outcomes (Robbins, 2007)It has been shown to influence organisational members by
transforming their values and priorities while motivating them to perform beyond their expectations
(Rowold, 2007)Increased levels of job satisfaction & reduced turnover intentions are consequences
of transformational leadership. It is all about leadership that creates positive change in the followers
whereby they take care of each other's interests and act in the interestsof the groupas a whole

A Research Proposal On Electrical Vehicles
Executive summary Electrical vehicles technology has been present for a while and is a proven
technology that need only reshaping to meet the global need. Though, in the past, the technology had
failed to compete with the internal combustion engine due to initial cost, the technology has done
well in the past few years. Electric vehicle ability to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases like

can enhance it market competitiveness. However, as experts try to make its charging system more
efficient and its ability to store charge more long lasting, the global need continue to rise. The

A Research Proposal On Suicide Essay
Statement of Interest
Suicide by cop commonly abbreviated as SBC is a topic that embraces a self–explanatory name.
However, for the purpose of this research proposal, a conceptual definition will provide a better
direction in the questions to be asked and addressed in searching for Scholarly articles. The working
definition is, someone who intentionally puts himself in a circumstance where they are deemed as a
lethal threat to society or police officials. Taking the necessary actions to put themselves in
immediate danger by forcing officers to take action in using lethal force to stop what is considered to
be an imminent threat. The end result is suicide. Whether the reason for suicide is that the person
was afraid to intentionally inflict pain on himself, or religious reasons that came into question
when deliberately taking one's own life. It is never something easily accepted by an officer. With
the many causes and effects of SbC the focus of this research proposal will address what kind of
individuals pose the most threat to society and police officers in instances of SBC. Additionally,
what features make them dangerous and how to be able to identify these features? In other words,
are there things set in place to help officers combat against scenarios of SBC. As well as what are
the negative outcomes of SBC and what kind of help can be provided for the officers affected by
these traumatic instances.

Effects of Technological Experience on Adoption and Usage of Electronic Health Records
Introduction The integration of electronic health records in the IT infrastructures supporting medical
facilities enables improved access to and recording of patient data, enhanced ability to make more
informed and more–timely decisions, and decreased errors. Despite these benefits, there are mixed
results as to the use of EHR. The aim of this research is to determine if medical health

Physicians working in locations with EHRs tended to highlight the same barriers, though less

adoption of electronic health records. They do admit that their study, like all surveys, could be

Ambulatory Medical Care Survey, a yearly survey conducted by the US census bureau. The
authors were attempting to find correlations between EHR implementation and other statistics,
such as age, practice size, and ownership (physician, physician group, or HMO). They used
regression modeling and bivariate analysis of three years of survey data. They found that
practices owned by HMOs were three times more likely to adopt EHR as single physician or
group owned practices. Also, large physician group owned practices (20 or more) had an increased
usage of EHR over small group and single physician owned. The authors reported that there were no
variations due to practice size in the different ownership groups. Physicians' age did not have any
effect on EHR usage. The authors concluded that the ability of larger practices to spread the sizable
investment required to purchase and implement the technology over more physicians and services
was the largest factor in implementation EHR. Laerum (2001) was the

related concepts. The term that probably serves as the umbrella under which other terms are

definition (Campbell, 1981). Andrews and Withey (1996) have stated the following about quality
of life: . . . sometimes refers to an 'outsider's' judgments of quality covered in such measures as
crowding, decibels of noise pollution, reported crimes, income levels, etc., but it may also refer to
the privately known and privately evaluated aspects of life (p. 4). Another broad term, one that is
specifically associated with the gerontological literature, is successful aging. Kalish (1985)
discusses the following four related though distinct definitions of successful aging: * A way of life
that is socially desirable for this age group *

What is the Impact of Stress on University Students Academic Performance?
1. EXPLANATION OF RESEARCH TOPIC
1.1 Purposes of Research Topic
Newth (2011) claims that modern day stress seems to be more widespread than ever causing
interference with human intellect, emotional and interpersonal functioning. Therefore; I suggest that
students will encounter stress and it will impact their academic performance. In this fast pace and
performance driven society each organization needs well performing people. The only way we will
know what people require to become productive and less stressed is to explore topics as my
research question. The topic...show more content...
Which collects the health statistics of students from universities all around the world every second
year, reported that 40.2 percent of Santa Clara University students identified that stress affected their
individual academic performance during the last 12 months of their studies (Temple,2011). Temple
(2011) reported a survey conducted in 2004 that assessed the overall well–being of 47,202
undergraduates nationwide. The findings were that 32.4 percent of students recognized stress as
the main obstacle to their academic performance. This was said to be above the common cold,
depression, death of a relative, sexual assault and eating disorders. Stress is "once considered as the
nation's number one health epidemic; prolonged stress can lead to ulcers, heart disease, stroke,
major depression and to a shorter life span" (Temple, 2011).
Based on these findings from research done previously I feel that this study is important. Firstly, we
need to understand what causes the stressors and how it affects the individual. For example, if you
have an entire university with stressed students, not being productive, not performing well
academically perhaps thinking of dropping out of university because of the overwhelming anxiety; it
can be detrimental to the institution in terms of status and students in terms of individual realisation.
Secondly, we soon have to formulate effective and efficient stress management guidelines as we

Research Proposal On Global Warming
Research Proposal The Climate changing, this has been a well–known issue. Air Pollution is killing
the environment, creating damage that cannot be reversed. Our social media will attempt to tell
you different and make it out to be not as bad or serious as it really is. My research proposal will
explain what the effects we have on our beautiful little planet in a global scale, and I will point out
how the internet can try and argue the facts to make global warming a hoax. I will layout the facts
and statistics about the subject matter, then explain why their argumentation is false. A good
quote for the article to start it off is one from Hawkins, "How did global warming discussions end
up hinging on what's happening with polar bears, unverifiable predictions of what will happen in
a hundred years and whether people are 'climate deniers' or 'global warming cultists?' wouldn't
this be considered a scientific topic? We should be spending more time discussing the science
involved?" (Hawkins). I believe that nature in part along with humans are causing damage to the
environment. Our planet is moving closer to the sun; we know that but that alone would not be
the cause of the planets warming as fast as it is. I also believe that social media is not telling it
how it really is by not using the facts and evidence. I will then bring forth the prevalence of the ice
age and talk about facts disproving global warming (which is the theory that the world is slowly
rising in temperature

  • 8. Cyber-Bullying: A Brief Research Proposal Essay Introduction Internet usage in children and adolescents has been increasing in a steadily fashion in the past number of years and with the increase in internet usage, a new form of bullying has developed – Cyber bullying. Cyber bullying can be defined as "the electronic posting of mean–spirited messages about a person," (Merriam–Webster, 2012). This form of bullying can come through various mediums including but not limited to text messages, emails, videos, and social networking sites. There is an overwhelming amount of information that defines cyber bullying, identifies the demographics of bullies and victims of cyber bullying, and identifies the outcomes of cyber bullying on victims. Perpetrators of need not be the traditional strong, powerful bully but could be the individual who is too shy to intimidate others in the traditional sense so they turn to the cyber world where they may remain somewhat anonymous (Juvonen & Gross, 2008; Mishna, Cook, Gadalla, Daciuk, & Solomon, 2010; Mishna, Saini, & Solomon, 2009). One study showed that over half of the perpetrators of cyber bullying are friends of the victim, and a further amount of perpetrations know the victim (Kowalski & Fedina, 2011). It has been demonstrated in a number of studies that the more time an individual spends on the computer and internet, the more likely they are to be cyber bully victims, perpetrators or both the victim and bully (Mishna, Khourg–Kassabri, Gadalla, & Daciuk, 2012; Sengupta & Chaudhuri, 2011). The most common mediums of cyber bullying are through email, instant messages, or internet social networking sites; however, the medium with the greatest impact on its victims is picture or video bullying (Beran & Li, 2005; Kowalski & Fedina, 2011; Slonje & Smoth, 2008). It has been suggested in the past that children who have access to social networking sites are more likely to be perpetrators or victims of cyber bullying, however, results from one study indicates this is not the case. • 12. Crime Research Proposal RESEARCH PROPOSAL EXAMPLE 4. THIS PERSON RECEIVED A "9.8" INTRODUCTION Micheal Gottfredson and Travis Hirschi's general theory of crime purports to be able to predict all crime at all time and that a person's level of self–control is determined and unchangeable by age eight. This researcher saw this theory as an awfully broad statement and an extremely pessimistic view of human nature. By this logic, a person with a low score on the selfcontrol construct would be almost guaranteed to commit crime given the appropriate opportunity and little can be done to change that behavior. This researcher proposes that self–control can be learned and bolstered later in life through extensive behavior modification programs that work to curb the...show more content... Self–control theory enthusiasts claim that the characteristics of those with self–restraint are not well–matched with the elements that characterize criminal and deviants acts (Gibbs et al 1998), consequently this researcher hypothesizes that increasing self–control and restraint through behavior modification will make criminal sexual opportunity less appealing and therefore decrease recidivism. Dr. Lane, Research Proposal Ex 4, Spring 2001, page 2 LITERATURE REVIEW The general theory of crime is relatively new and controversial theory in the realm of criminology. Micheal Gottfredson and Travis Hirschi published A General Theory of Crime in 1990 and it went on to become the second most cited book in the entire 1990s (Pratt and Cullen, 2000). Their theory is based on the argument, not unlike Hirschi's social bonding theory that criminal activity is gratifying and the key to understanding participation in crime is discovering what prevents people from breaking the law. They contend that committing crime and other analogous behaviors (drinking, gambling, drug use, reckless driving, and unsafe sexual practices) start manifesting in conduct problems early in life. The term "low self–control" is used to describe the enduring "criminality" or "criminal propensity" that increases the likelihood that individuals will be unable to resist the easy, immediate Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Research Proposal : Gender Equality Research Proposal: Gender Equality in America For my research project, I would like to show the evolution of gender equality that has occurred in American society in the workplace. The disparity of status and privileges between men and women has existed since the end of the World War II. Although America has made progress concerning the acceptance of social issues such as same sex relationship and marriage, people are still unwilling to acknowledge that gender inequality is still rampant among our society. Gender equality hasn't been achieved yet, particularly in corporate America that has an insignificant number of women in the upper ranks; fewer women occupy a post of chief executive officer, chief financial officer, or any other leading positions. For my research question I will be asking: "How is America making progress on gender equity?" Fundamentally, I believe that women are still misrepresented, and are still facing many challenges in the workplace, especially in the business world. The gender stereotypes play a considerable role in the way the society sees women as leaders. However, it will be judicious to consider the small but noticeable changes that have been made over the past years concerning gender equality in the American workplace. The research on the evolution of gender equality is related to my success, because as a women business major, it is my responsibility to be aware of the issues women face in the business world, dominated by men. It is all about leadership that creates positive change in the followers whereby they take care of each other's interests and act in the interestsof the groupas a whole (Warrilow, 2012) There are four components of transformation style (Warrilow, 2012) a) Get more content on HelpWriting.net

A Research Proposal On Electrical Vehicles Executive summary Electrical vehicles technology has been present for a while and is a proven technology that need only reshaping to meet the global need. Though, in the past, the technology had failed to compete with the internal combustion engine due to initial cost, the technology has done well in the past few years. Electric vehicle ability to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases like carbon and carbon dioxide and the advantages it enjoys such as low maintenance and running cost can enhance it market competitiveness. However, as experts try to make its charging system more efficient and its ability to store charge more long lasting, the global need continue to rise. The research proposal, therefore, aim at addressing an issue like government involvement can enhance improved use of EV, development of better EV batteries, energy management system and fast charging can help enhance the use of Electrical Vehicles and how electric vehicle drive train and the battery can be redesigned to make it affordable. Introduction The transport sector is one of the main global consumers of fossil fuel related energy in the world. Unfortunately fossil fuel is non–renewable source of energy and the production of oil has been fluctuating in the recent past. At the same time, combustion of petroleum related fuel release greenhouse gases such as carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide that destroy the ozone layer and result to further environmental degradation. Therefore to work Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. A Research Proposal On Suicide Essay Statement of Interest Suicide by cop commonly abbreviated as SBC is a topic that embraces a self–explanatory name. However, for the purpose of this research proposal, a conceptual definition will provide a better direction in the questions to be asked and addressed in searching for Scholarly articles. The working definition is, someone who intentionally puts himself in a circumstance where they are deemed as a lethal threat to society or police officials. Taking the necessary actions to put themselves in immediate danger by forcing officers to take action in using lethal force to stop what is considered to be an imminent threat. The end result is suicide. Whether the reason for suicide is that the person was afraid to intentionally inflict pain on himself, or religious reasons that came into question when deliberately taking one's own life. It is never something easily accepted by an officer. With the many causes and effects of SbC the focus of this research proposal will address what kind of individuals pose the most threat to society and police officers in instances of SBC. Additionally, what features make them dangerous and how to be able to identify these features? In other words, are there things set in place to help officers combat against scenarios of SBC. As well as what are the negative outcomes of SBC and what kind of help can be provided for the officers affected by these traumatic instances. • 19. Effects of Technological Experience on Adoption and Usage of Electronic Health Records Introduction The integration of electronic health records in the IT infrastructures supporting medical facilities enables improved access to and recording of patient data, enhanced ability to make more informed and more–timely decisions, and decreased errors. Despite these benefits, there are mixed results as to the use of EHR. The aim of this research is to determine if medical health professionals who lack experience with technology are slower to adopt and use electronic health records (EHR). Research has shown that the healthcare industry is plagued by rapidly increasing costs and poor quality. The United States medical care is the world's...show more content... Physicians working in locations with EHRs tended to highlight the same barriers, though less frequently. The authors concluded that financial limitations are the greatest barrier to the adoption of electronic health records. They do admit that their study, like all surveys, could be subject to response bias. Burt (2005) also surveyed physicians, this time from the National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey, a yearly survey conducted by the US census bureau. The authors were attempting to find correlations between EHR implementation and other statistics, such as age, practice size, and ownership (physician, physician group, or HMO). They used regression modeling and bivariate analysis of three years of survey data. They found that practices owned by HMOs were three times more likely to adopt EHR as single physician or group owned practices. Also, large physician group owned practices (20 or more) had an increased usage of EHR over small group and single physician owned. The authors reported that there were no variations due to practice size in the different ownership groups. Physicians' age did not have any effect on EHR usage. The authors concluded that the ability of larger practices to spread the sizable investment required to purchase and implement the technology over more physicians and services was the largest factor in implementation EHR. A Sample Quantitative Research Proposal Self–Directed Learning Readiness and Life Satisfaction Among Older Adults A Sample Quantitative Research Proposal Written in the APA 5th Style [Note: This sample proposal is based on a composite of past proposals, simulated information and references, and material I've included for illustration purposes – it is based roughly on a fairly standard research proposal; I say roughly because there is no one set way of creating a quantitative research proposal. Much of its design is based on the nature of the research, your preferences, and your decisions regarding how to describe or portray what it is you plan to accomplish. The material in this document was adopted from a dissertation proposal created by Dr. Ralph Brockett. A biography is...show more content... The reader is alerted to the existence of broader studies such as these. The present discussion, however, will concentrate primarily on findings and issues associated with persons in their later years. Defining Life Satisfaction and Related Concepts To fully understand the meaning of life satisfaction as it is used in the proposed study, it is necessary to be familiar with a number of related concepts. The term that probably serves as the umbrella under which other terms are covered is quality of life. In general, quality of life is a nebulous term that evades precise definition (Campbell, 1981). Andrews and Withey (1996) have stated the following about quality of life: . . . sometimes refers to an 'outsider's' judgments of quality covered in such measures as crowding, decibels of noise pollution, reported crimes, income levels, etc., but it may also refer to the privately known and privately evaluated aspects of life (p. 4). Another broad term, one that is specifically associated with the gerontological literature, is successful aging. Kalish (1985) discusses the following four related though distinct definitions of successful aging: * A way of life that is socially desirable for this age group * Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 21. Nicole Kada Philip Broster Business Communications 27 April 2012 Research Proposal What is the Impact of Stress on University Students Academic Performance? 1. EXPLANATION OF RESEARCH TOPIC 1.1 Purposes of Research Topic Newth (2011) claims that modern day stress seems to be more widespread than ever causing interference with human intellect, emotional and interpersonal functioning. Therefore; I suggest that students will encounter stress and it will impact their academic performance. In this fast pace and performance driven society each organization needs well performing people. The only way we will know what people require to become productive and less stressed is to explore topics as my research question. The topic...show more content... Which collects the health statistics of students from universities all around the world every second year, reported that 40.2 percent of Santa Clara University students identified that stress affected their individual academic performance during the last 12 months of their studies (Temple,2011). Temple (2011) reported a survey conducted in 2004 that assessed the overall well–being of 47,202 undergraduates nationwide. The findings were that 32.4 percent of students recognized stress as the main obstacle to their academic performance. This was said to be above the common cold, depression, death of a relative, sexual assault and eating disorders. Stress is "once considered as the nation's number one health epidemic; prolonged stress can lead to ulcers, heart disease, stroke, major depression and to a shorter life span" (Temple, 2011). Based on these findings from research done previously I feel that this study is important. Firstly, we need to understand what causes the stressors and how it affects the individual. For example, if you have an entire university with stressed students, not being productive, not performing well academically perhaps thinking of dropping out of university because of the overwhelming anxiety; it can be detrimental to the institution in terms of status and students in terms of individual realisation. Secondly, we soon have to formulate effective and efficient stress management guidelines as we Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 22. Mba MBA TAKE HOME ESSAY QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ON RESEARCH METHODS 1. Identify the most appropriate study design for the research proposal you are Planning to develop. A study design is the procedure that guides a researcher on how to collect, analyze and interpret observations. It is a logical model that guides the investigator while he navigates through the various stages of the research. Study types can be classified severally depending on the research strategy employed. A study type can be non–interventional that is 'observational' where a researcher just observes and analyses researchable objects or situations without intervening. Non–interventional study designs can be exploratory, descriptive or comparative. A study can also be...show more content... Having already identified the non–intervention study type as the most appropriate study type for my research proposal, I will also employ the use of a descriptive study design to explore the current patterns of policies and strategies concerning employee empowerment in Merchant Bank Ghana Limited. 2. Describe the various data collection techniques and state their uses and limitations. Data Collection is a vital aspect of any type of research study. Erroneous data collection can impact the results of a study and ultimately lead to invalid results. Data collection methods for impact evaluation vary along a scale. At the one end of this scale are quantitative methods and at the other end of the scale are Qualitative methods for data collection. Choosing a particular data collection method will depend on the accuracy of information they will yield and the practical considerations, such as, the need for personnel, time, equipment and other facilities, in relation to what is available Quantitative Collection Methods Quantitative data collection involves the use of numbers to assess information. This information can then be evaluated using statistical analysis which offers researchers the opportunity to dig deeper into the data and look for greater meaning. The Quantitative data collection methods rely on random sampling and structured data collection instruments that fit varied experiences Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 23. Research Proposal On Global Warming Research Proposal The Climate changing, this has been a well–known issue. Air Pollution is killing the environment, creating damage that cannot be reversed. Our social media will attempt to tell you different and make it out to be not as bad or serious as it really is. My research proposal will explain what the effects we have on our beautiful little planet in a global scale, and I will point out how the internet can try and argue the facts to make global warming a hoax. I will layout the facts and statistics about the subject matter, then explain why their argumentation is false. A good quote for the article to start it off is one from Hawkins, "How did global warming discussions end up hinging on what's happening with polar bears, unverifiable predictions of what will happen in a hundred years and whether people are 'climate deniers' or 'global warming cultists?' wouldn't this be considered a scientific topic? We should be spending more time discussing the science involved?" (Hawkins). I believe that nature in part along with humans are causing damage to the environment. Our planet is moving closer to the sun; we know that but that alone would not be the cause of the planets warming as fast as it is. I also believe that social media is not telling it how it really is by not using the facts and evidence. I will then bring forth the prevalence of the ice age and talk about facts disproving global warming (which is the theory that the world is slowly rising in temperature Get more content on HelpWriting.net
