Personal Statement: Why I Want To Teach
One reason I want to teach is because I love being around kids. They are always so eager to listen
and learn and are so energetic. I have noticed that many children today are being raised by
grandparents. Many spend very little time at home with their families because both parents work
long hours away from home. I want to be an influence to many kids and provide a "home away
from home" to those who need a secure and happy environment to learn and grow. I hope one day I
will be standing in front of a room full of students, teaching them and encouraging them to do great
things.

As I begin my teaching career and the years prior to it, many ideas and decisions will take place.
Being that I plan to teach elementary school and deal with small children, I plan to be excessive on
classroom accessories. Children have a limited attention span and a dull, plain room would not be
appealing to them. The adjustment of leaving "mommy" will be hard enough for them anyway. I
hope to make the environment comforting and welcoming for them. Bright colored bulletin boards
and posters with needed information on them. I would like my students seated around the room in a
circle. From experience, I've found that children feel more at ease and apt to speak up when seated
this way.
I believe the teacher should be authoritative, especially in the lower grades. The students need to
know who is in charge and feel that there is someone of authority to look up to. Still yet, I want the
children to feel a sense of authority, to make decisions and play a leadership role. Possibly, let one
child be "leader of the day" each day; for example, lead the lines or pass out the papers.

Reflection On Micro Teaching
This essay will analyse and highlight on the fifteen–minute micro teaching reflection that is vital for
the self–evaluation and professional development of my teaching practice. It will further identify my
strengths and weaknesses through my peer assessment and reflect on the teaching and learning
theories, methods and strategies that are linked and practiced in my micro–teach.
According to the teachers' standards (DfE, 2012) "teachers make the education of their learners their
first concern, keep their knowledge up to date and are self–critical." Therefore, this reflection
practice will guide me towards the improvement on my lesson planning strategies and delivery. In
addition, it will also make an enormous difference in my teaching and learning practice which is vital
for teacher training.
One of the significant part of this course is micro teaching session, in this session we are required to
deliver fifteen–minute planned lesson containing learning outcome. Furthermore, this session was
recorded and observed by the peers to evaluate. Due to my interest in ESOL I decided to deliver
my session on "Boogle Puzzle" to embed a simple literacy/numeracy activity aims to target ESOL
(English for speakers of other languages) learners. In this task, pupils are given activity to make
seven – ten words in the English language from the word grid to improve word recognition and
spellings.
Based on reflection of my micro–teaching I provided learners with the basic instructions on "Boggle
puzzle" and opted for potential instruction strategy. I used present, practice and produce strategy
(English language resource, 2017) to allow pupils to practice and learn new vocabulary in
co–operative way. Similarly, I used co–operative learning method to encourage pupils to learn from
each other and gain interpersonal skills. According to Johnson and Johnson (1995) co–operative
learning method have proven effective in increasing motivation, self–esteem and problem solving.

My Motivation For Being A Teacher Essay
My motivation for being a teacher comes from somewhere deep within my heart and soul. I love
children. I love the look that comes across their faces when they finally grasp a concept after they
have been trying to truly understand it. I had a lot of teachers that made an impact on me and I
want to have the same impact on as many children as possible. My teachers installed a love of
learning in me. There is no better profession than teaching for those who want to learn. One is
learning just as much from their students, if not more, than what they teach. Teaching is

Precious Movie Essay
In the begging of the movie, Precious, the main character Precious Jones was on Level 1 according
to Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. I know this because she only had her basic necessities such as
food, water, sleep, and shelter. At home she wasn't being shown love nor affection instead she was
being sexually, physically, and mentally abused. Additionally, she was receiving abominable
treatment from her mother, she mentally abused her by calling her stupid, fat, ugly, dummy, etc.
Another reason I know this is because Precious wasn't safe and didn't feel safe in her home, her
mother threw things at her, hit her with things like pots and pans, and threatened her diurnally.
The final reason I know that Precious was at Level 1 according to Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs is
because she wasn't being pushed or trying to achieve anything in life. The way Precious got from

Each One Teach One Reflection
In spring 2014, I volunteered to run the Each One Teach One program. As the editor, I had to lead
discussions and facilitate exchange of essays. Although every participant in the program was African
American, I had recently immigrated to the United States and had a strong accent. Initially, a

During my K–12 education I feel that it taught me how to fake it until I make it. You think school
teaches you how to be an adult in the real world but it only teaches you how to be complaint. I
never really thought about what I gained as a member of society. I think school tried to teach me
where my place is. I learned how even though this is 2017 and women don't have to sit and look
pretty, students are expected to sit and look pretty so to speak. For 12 years to earn a piece of
paper I learned that I am expected to follow traditional rules and methods. I am expected to do as

In the Working class schools, Knowledge was described as a set of facts to be learned. Creativity
was not important enough to be incorporated into the curriculum. During Elementary and Middle
school we were taught to sit still and memorize facts,information and that there is one way of doing

My Teaching Experience Essay
When I first come to Saint Cloud High School, I was uncertain of how I would fit into the world
of education as a teacher, in fact, this was my first teaching practice. After completing a few
observations, I changed my view and recognized my teaching abilities. I was able to learn many
different things that will be helpful to me when I become a certified teacher someday. Although I
could face many possible challenges in the classroom, I have many of the strengths it takes to be

During my time on the PGDE Course both in University based learning, and more evidently during
my Professional Practise placements, I have come to realise the significance of reflection within the

it may be true that boys are more active than girls, but to say that they are treated differently is to

Being a teacher is not an easy task as many people could think. To be a teacher does not only

It has not been easy but challenging and interesting. Unfortunately in this present job I have no

proverb "Each One Teach One." This concept was created in the U.S. when an enslaved person was

Based on reflection of my micro–teaching I provided learners with the basic instructions on "Boggle puzzle" and opted for potential instruction strategy. I used present, practice and produce strategy (English language resource, 2017) to allow pupils to practice and learn new vocabulary in co–operative way.
