2. Magic wand tool
The magic wand tool allows you
to select areas that contrasts in
colour and then move or delete
them. You can also change the
tolerance of the wand so that it
will delete more/less of your
image. In the picture on the left
the magic wand tool is being
used to get rid of a White section
from an image of a person
3. Eraser tool
The eraser tool allows you to
Before get rid of specific parts of an
image for example you could
cut out a piece of back ground
with the magic wand tool and
then make it look neater with
the eraser tool by erasing the
After
small bits of background that
are left by the magic want tool.
The example on the left shows
a rough edge that could be
erased to look better (before)
and (after)
4. Move /Select tool
The move tool is just
like the normal screen
mouse, it allows you to
move an object or
select one it can also be
used to move a
highlighted area from
the magic wand or any
shape tool. In the
example to the left I
was using the move tool
to move a part of an
image that I had
selected with the magic
wand.
5. The crop tool
The crop tool allows you to select a section
of an image, and then the rest of the
image will be deleted leaving just the part
of the image that you selected remaining.
The images to the left and below show
the process of cropping and image in this
example I used the crop tool to focus on
someone's face.
6. Paint Bucket tool
The paint bucket tool can be used to
colour a large area such as a shape or
text box in one click. For example you
might use it to change the colour of a
background for a magazine like I am
in my media studies production
work.
