international Center of Tourism and Service

On October 25th, Danang’s People Committee held the seminar “Developing Danang into an
international Center of Tourism and Service Industries” with the participation of the Ministry of
Culture - Sports and Tourism, Vietnam Institute of Economics as well as plenty of established
experts and specialists in Vietnam and overseas.
During theseminar, various issues were raised for discussion including: how spatialplanning
can help Danang become an international tourism destination;solutions to develop
destinationsfor foreigntourism in Danang; Bach Dang – 2035 Vision; Developing Danang into
a major regionaldestination; improving the trafficsystem in Danang to elevateinternational
tourism; Medicaltourism in Danang: an unexplored industry; a brief overview ofthe
entertainment industry in Vietnam and howto develop entertainment activitiesin Danang;
Building competencyfor Danang in particular and Central Vietnam in general; Danang’s
ambitionto become a highlycompetitiveinternationaltourism center etc.
According to tourism experts, Danang has every potential to becomea center of tourism
thanks to its accessibility.Specifically, visitors are offered a wide range of transport modality
when travelling to Danang (land, airway, railway and maritime).
So as to improve Danang’s tourism industry, governors shouldconsider and analyzethe
proposalsput forward during theseminar. With prompt implementation,Danang’s governors
will beable to develop thecityinto a desirabledestinationoffering high qualityservices of
internationalstandard. Besides, it is advisable to focus on theenhancement ofthe keyservices
in Danang along with investing in potentialservices such as river tour, centralized shopping
center, indoorleisure activitiesetc.
