Manny Pacquiao: By The Numbers
1. Manny Pacquiao: By The Numbers
Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather square off in the ring Saturday night capping a monster day
of sports in the U.S. The Kentucky Derby, NFL Draft and NBA/NHL playoffs all take a back seat to a
fight the sporting world has waited nearly six years to see. And in the Philippines, an entire nation
will stop and root for their national treasure, who also serves as a congressman. Pacquiao's place in
his 100 million-person home nation is unlike anything that exists in the U.S.
Pacquiao has transcended boxing in a lot of ways, particularly as a in-demand endorser. "Most
companies are apprehensive about boxing, but they love Manny Pacquiao," says his marketing
agent, Lucia McKelvey from Top Rank. "If Manny wins, things could go really crazy.
