Descriptive Essay About Dance Club
We walk into the club just a new song begins to play. The vibrations give me a funny feeling causing me to laugh. Suki looks at me smiling. "I have
never had anyone come out with me." "Well you do now," I smile. She grabs my arm and we clack our way over to the bar, my ankle almost giving
out in the process because of the heels I am wearing. We have at least five shots to get us started since we have a high tolerance for liquor. I see
people dancing around crazily while singing along to the song making me want to do the same. I pull Suki to the dance floor and we start shaking
our hips along with moving our shoulders. We whip our hair around causing her to smack a guy in the process. I laugh hysterically as she turns
around to apologize. He says if she dances with him she will be forgiven. Turning to look at me she smiles brightly. "I cannot leave my friend," she
says. "I do not mind. Take her away!" She whispers a thank you and skips away with her new buddy. I close my eyes and sway my hips. My dress
begins to rise because of the movement of my thighs, and my butt makes the dress higher in the back which is not helping. I just want to have a
good time and forget, so heading back to the bar sounds like a good idea. I take some more shots feeling it burn my throat on the way down. I see Suki
and her man dancing very close. Her arms around around his neck, his arms low on her back, she leans back and sways showing off her flexibility. His
eyes grow big at her

Personal Narrative Essay
Life ChangingSurviving Life's Unexpected Events My life was outstanding after moving to Dallas. It was like something you read about in
magazines or watch in a movie. I had the dream job, car, house, and social life. I worked as a bartender at the hottest nightclub in town and made a
lot of money. I bought a beautifully restored 1961 Porsche, a lot like the one that James Dean had died in. My car had a pearl– white paint job, a
red–leather interior, and aluminum alloy wheels with low–profile racing tires. I was living in a guesthouse on the estate of the nightclub owner; he
lived in the mansion in front. We had parties there almost every night around theswimming pool. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Then the paramedics arrived and took over. The first thing they did after giving me a quick look over was to inform me my left eye had been
knocked out the socket. My eye was lying on my cheek and they needed to put it back in the socket. They told me this was going to be very painful,
and they would not be able to give me anything for the pain until I was at the hospital. They put something in my mouth that resembled a rubber dog
bone, to keep me from biting my tongue, and endure the severe pain. After getting my eye back in the socket, they bandaged up my head, and. my
face.. I could still see with my right eye, and I noticed the police had arrived. They were handcuffing a man in his late thirties or early forties, and
putting him into the back of their police car. The man had just hit me with his car. The firefighters and paramedics tried to remove me from my car.
I screamed out in pain and begged them to stop. I was pinned in the car. My legs and feet were tangled up with the clutch and brake pedals. They
had to remove the driver's door, the windshield, and the steering wheel. It took the firefighters and paramedics quite some time to free me from the
vehicle. When they finally succeeded, I was rolled on a stretcher into the ambulance and raced towards the hospital. I remember the sirens screaming
and the paramedic told me, "You're going to be all right, just holding on." Hell, I had a death grip on that stretcher.

We Should Not Go Through A War
I believe as a race we should not go through another war to defend our rights as a n Americans. It was an ancestor of mine that was brought kicking
and screaming here to work free of charge because some lazy ass farmer could work his own land. Without his slaves three generations his great
grand children let the farm fall into disrepair. They had to sell it off. I can say my grandmother was proud to let all that work go to waste. As soon
as those bells rung she left that farm and never looked back. She never told my mother because she wanted her family clear of the past. She was
one of the lucky ones with no roots to tie her there. She was bought for breeding stock two years before. She bore two children. She had to walk
many miles for a place of employment with a toddler on her back and baby slung in the front. She was a woman with no husband. Somewhere around
Illinois a family took her in. They gave her a job and a place to learn.
Fastword to 1903, Washington has pushed his biography to appeal to the white market. He is a man that is sitting on the fence in a "race" of tugawar. He
wishes to wash clean the sin of slavery by making it a gentler time. My Grandmother did not see it that way. She walked many a mile to break all ties
my her former life. I know nothing of my family besides what my grandmother brought. I have no choice in the matter of my birth or history. Many
like my Grandmother choose to forget it. Others of the White variety like to

David Ramirez Monologue
"What the fuck are you doing?" That voice rang with anger. Ah shit, I pissed him off again, didn't I? Talk about working for a guy who's hard to
please. Oh no. I'm such a terrible narrator. You must be asking three questions. Who am I talking about? Who am I? Why am I reading to this? First
off, you chose to. Second, I'm talking about Nevada Ramirez, Dominican–American drug lord extraordinaire. I hope that doesn't ring with sarcasm. And
your narrator that you are stuck with has a name too. Harold Lockhart but I prefer Harry, however, my undercover name was Benjamin "Benji"
Waterhouse. Now we're all caught up back up to the present. I roll my eyes, "About to steal those cables, which you ask me to do." I feel a slap on the

We get up, Nevada's arm still around me, his hand caressing my shoulder. What on earth was he doing? I usually left by myself to stay in my little
apartment, which, if you're curious, is shitastic by the way. Thanks, Perry. Anyways, one thing leads to another and I end up in Nevada's condo.
Talk about living in the lap of luxury. You know those films where you enter into a villain's place and he has a naked chick or two at his beckon
call and some weird exotic animal? It was like that. I mean, there was a goddamn spider monkey climbing the stairs. Or is it a capuchin? I'm not a
zookeeper, it was some kind of monkey. There were marble floors, modern deco, weird art everywhere. I wish I had a camera to send to Perry just to
make him jealous. And there were 2 topless women who greeted him. Scarface came to mind with this guy. "Hola, Papi chulo," a brunette greets
Nevada with a kiss, caressing his crotch. "ВїOh? ВїQuien es tu amigo guapo, Papi?" He holds her hand, closer to his crotch, snarling, "Mine for
tonight, Leta." Her smile fades a little as she walks away. I couldn't help but stare at the other woman with auburn hair, "Wow, she's beautiful." Jesus,
I sounded like I was 12 again. Hell, I felt 12 including the erection that was currently happening. Nevada heard me and grins, "Isn't she? I love
beautiful things." I felt his hand brush up against my ass and started goosing me a little. Normally, I would stop this but I was

Humorous Wedding Speech From The Father Of The Bride
Chief,
Thanks for the quick response. Sorry to hear that you and the wife are going through tough times together but it is expected to go through tough times
for the first three years after getting married. This is where both you will find out what each other is made of and who is the one really trying to make
things work in the marriage. You or her! If after three years you and thewife still going through the same old issues then the marriage meant not to be
for neither one. Keep this in mind! Just continue working it and always do your best in the marriage. That is the best advice I can tell you.
Wow!! You are really kicking some butts within the CPO Mess and off

I know things will work out for you as long as you take firm steps and continue going in the right direction. Remember this, only you can control
your mind, body and destiny. Only you! Do not let bad habits (alcohol & cigarettes), bad company and negative distractions to control you and
your life. Find peace of mind and get your head clear now so when you get older you have fewer issues to deal with. Here is a secret for you. As
you get older, your body and mind will go through changes. As you age, your body will not be as strong as it used to be and your mind will fight
demons that you have never seen before. Therefore, you will need to prepare your body and mind now that you are young for the things that are
yet to come and that you do not have visibility of. As long as you keep a clean and strong body and have good peace of mind you will do well as
you get older. I hope I did not get you lost with this advice. Bottom line, make positive changes now that you still have time so when you get older
you will be a happier and better person. Only look what is in front of you and do not think about the past. There is nothing that you can do with the
past and a lot that you can do with the present and future. In my book I have written that Ransey will have a bright future

What Is Happening At Me?
What is happening to me?
This is not supposed to happen! This is exactly what I need to avoid.
I'm becoming clumsy and careless. I'm getting way too comfortable with these people.
First I told Aiden about my dad driving drunk and killing himself and a little girl while I was in the car, revealing more information in that one night
than I've ever revealed to anyone before. I'm letting Char sleep over my house tonight, where if she sees me take a sleeping pill I'd have to lie and
make sup excuses. Then I forgive Mason faster than the speed of light, and I slipped up and mentioned Luke's name.
I don't make 'slip ups.' My safety and identity are based on my ability to not slip up, but I did. I'm becoming more and more comfortable with these ...

I need to leave.
It's time to change towns and identities. I've only ever left a town and switched identities when signs of Tony emerged or when he actually showed up,
but this is different.
Tony is out there and looking for me. He's insane, ruthless, and has nothing left to live for. His whole life is oriented around finding me, tormenting me,
and then killing me.
He will find me, it's only a matter of when. When he comes for me, I don't want anyone else to get in the way. I don't want Mason or Anna or Chase
or anyone else getting mixed up in my shit. I especially don't want Aiden involved in any of this. They will get hurt, and people can die.
This isn't a game, and this is bigger than my selfish emotions. I can't let these people that I care so much about get hurt because I selfishly got attached
and let them get too close to me. I need to leave before things get harder than they have to.
I subconsciously tighten my grip on Aiden's hand, as if my body's registering what I'm thinking and refuses to leave him.
Aiden looks down at me and tenderly strokes my hand with his thumb reassuringly, thinking that my racing pulse and tight grip are due to my
nervousness of being near Ryan and the Silvers, not because of my intentions of leaving him.
I give him a small smile and relish the feeling of Aiden's tenderness, trying to store it in my memory so that I can recall it when I'm gone.
As we get closer to Ryan and the Silvers, I know that I should

They are pretty much what you expect, a person with super strength, speed, flight, teleportation, yada, yada, yada, you get the gist right? Anyway, not
everyone has powers its like 1 in every hundred thousand or so I'm not to sure, I slept through that class. Turns out I fit that bill. My powers at first
seemed unimpressive. A meager increase in strength, stamina, and durability in short I could dish a punch and take one. After some experimenting, I
learned a few more things. I was far more powerful than I thought. I had two powers that no one else has in the whole world. My first power, which I've
decided to call 'Gamer' allows me to see my stats like a video game. It shows me my stats, health, energy, skill, and you know the rest. My second
power, which I've decide to call 'Creator' allows me to create skills and magics. Honestly, I think these powers were practically made for a nerd and lazy
person like me because it allows me to be both lazy and overpowered but I've never had a reason to use them. For example, let's say someone has the
ability to fly and I identify them. Identify, like any other rpg allows the user to see the stats of others. If I want to, I could also create a ability that
allows me to fly and I could make it better, worse, or the same. It all depends on how much effort and detail I put into it. However, soon I discovered a
new ability which I called 'Modify'. It allows me to modify my skills, stats, you know the gist of it already. So, I've already become the most
overpowered MC right. Wrong, I'm way to lazy to actually take the time and effort to use all these abilities. I love them, and I believe that these
abilities were made for me but I don't want to get involved with the world as much as I already

pinched the bridge of my nose. "I need you to tell her that my schedule was full." I listened as she apologized repeatedly for her mishearing. "Alright
tell Ms Finn that the meeting will occur on the 8th at 6:00pm. I'll make sure that my personal assistant will make reservations at Le Bernardin." "Also,

Personal Log Entry: 2920 – Gemma Roberts, Chief Engineer for the City of Daedalus "It was an ass–kicking Venusian storm that snapped one of our
city's anchoring tethers; a tether that keeps our floating city from drifting away. I immediately sent my COGS down to the surface to make repairs.
The planet's surface temperature at the time was 462 degrees Celsius and pressure at that altitude, 90 atmospheres; that gave my COGS about seven
hours before being crushed. And this gave me just enough time to calibrate the city's massive Stirling engines. My engine readings revealed that
power output was below 100%, so the loss was possibly dew to the city's drift. These engines can generate a googol–joule of energy, and the excess we

should be raised is because having a job extremely hard as it is, therefore the government should contribute into helping the citizens and make their

time; most of them are saying that sometime they have to work at least 40 hours a week, while attending school, just to live in an apartment or

Why I Want To Stay In The Army They way society is today...being in the Army is one of the wisest choices I've made in my life, many people take

your basically approved for anything in the world as long as you serve in the Army or any branch of service. You also gain free knowledge and
experience that many outside people in the civilian world do not have the chance or opportunity to be a part of. The Army has a lot to offer and as a

want to be considered a bad Soldier just because I didn't take the offer or the opportunity when it was presented to me. Anyone can be a Non
Commissioned Officer but living up to the name is a different story. In a way I feel that leadership should respect your decision if you feel that
you're not ready to take the next step forward to becoming a Non Commissioned Officer. Hard work alone does not automatically qualify a person
as a leader. You can have someone who is a great runner, always present, but have a shitty attitude, can't pass a portion of their Physical Training Test,
always in trouble and don't know how to do/teach their job but just because that soldier has the right promotion points, went to Warrior Leadership

Do The Right Thing Is A Beautifully Intense Film Directed...
Do the Right Thing is a beautifully intense film directed by the talented Spike Lee, which revolves around the very diverse community of the
Bedford–Stuyvesant district of Brooklyn on a hot summer Sunday. Throughout the entire film, characters are faced with obstacles and injustices
that bring up the grand question of what the "right thing" even is. One scene in particular sums up the whole premise of the film into a concise
and poetic speech spoken by the one and only Radio Raheem. This scene is imperative to have in the film as well as for the viewers. Without this
scene, the film itself would not have the same impact and possibly the same message it has already given all of its spectators. Radio Raheem is
definitely an interesting character to say the least, just like many of the characters in this film; they individually embody an aspect of the
microcosm they reside in. Some characters can be as apparent as "Buggin' Out". Not only is his name a term for losing control, but the character
himself seems to cause trouble whenever he see's a social injustice [no matter right or wrong on the subject]. Some can be more intricate like
working man Mookie who lazes away day by day just waiting for his money at the end of it all. Although he is a man of the streets, a man that viewers
like myself have grown fond of towards the films progression, Mookie is still a working–class man in this society, nothing more, and nothing less. As
for Radio Raheem, he is a walking contradiction

Time The Two Deliverymen Left Max 's House
By the time the two deliverymen left Max's house, they were slathered in sweat. Each had wet inverted pyramids soaked through the backs of their
green coveralls. To Max, the sweat spots looked as though they were part of the delivery company's uniforms. Each dabbed and rubbed their
handkerchiefs across their craggy and ruddy faces while rolling up their long sleeves in a way to help cool themselves. By the time they had
unloaded, unpacked, and situated the new refrigerator under the overzealous and finicky eyes of Max's father, both deliveryman were boiling with
quieted acrimony. As a consequence, they didn't hesitate to oblige Max's youthful request to leave the cardboard box that the new refrigerator
arrived in, so that he could play with it. When Max had anxiously asked, the fatter of the two deliveryman smiled and answered loudly, "Sure kid,
we'd be glad to," and under his breath said, "anything to get us out of here quicker." Max eyeballed the box with anticipation and guesstimated it to
be roughly four feet wide and nearly the length of the one man canoe his father had vehemently insisted Max learn to use on his 7th birthday, last
spring. Although Max had tried to decline, he was unsuccessful. Grudgingly, Max attempted to use it and as a result and nearly drowned as a result.

Revelation by Ruby Turpin Essay
Revelation by Ruby Turpin There are three distinctive characteristics that Ruby Turpin showed in the essay "Revelation." Ruby was an extremely
dominant woman who was judgmental, controlling, and blind to the true reality of life. She was definitely in need of a revelation in order to help her
with a change in attitude. I suppose she was never introduced to the saying "the first shall be last and the last shall be first." Claud and Ruby Turpin
were a couple that had a little of everything. They didn't want for much and didn't mind giving to the needy. They didn't have any children, just a yard
full of chickens, cows, and hogs, and a house of their own. So Ruby considered herself to be at the top of the poll when it came to economic ... Show

She was a woman who was pretty big in size, a bit taller than Claud, and she had a stern voice. She felt like what she viewed and said goes and that
everyone should think and move to her command. Ruby also showed this controlling attitude towards those in the doctor's office also. Which is
why the young college girl, Mary Grace, called her "a wart hog from hell." Mary Grace referenced her to the big husky, mean, and stern wart hog.
Mary Grace could see right through her, which is probably why she felt the need to throw the book at her and proceed to choke her. Ruby couldn't
figure out why this happened then, but she would soon find out why. Ruby believed that doing good deeds made her the better person and would
surely get her a first class seat into heaven, when in fact it doesn't. She felt like these things made her also a better Christian: "To help anybody out
that needed it was her philosophy of life. She never spared herself when she found somebody in need, whether they were white or black, trash or
decent" (271). True enough it didn't matter to her how fat, ugly, or poor she was, just as long as she was a good person. She failed to realize that
just being a good person was truly of no heavenly value, what mattered is how she really felt in her heart and how humble she was with all of her
possession. Ruby was mean and hateful in thoughts, and so all her goodness was in vain. She also lifted herself up in life by taking account of all she

Research Paper On Dead Space 2
Dead Space 2 is an amazing game. I'm going to write about its scary moments, cool kills, and how much I dig the main character's internal struggle,
but Dead Space 2 is about more than this. When I beat it for the first time, I sat on the couch with my heart racing and dissected the journey I had just
taken. Then, I started my second playthrough, and when that was done, I jumped into a new game for the third time. Dead Space 2 is just that good.
It's been three years since the events of the first game, but protagonist Isaac Clarke still can't catch a break. At the beginning of Dead Space 2, he
wakes on a space station known as the Sprawl and finds the place is overwhelmed by an outbreak of reanimated corpses called Necromorphs. From
the very first moment of the game, Isaac's fighting for his life.

"Elephants in Mexico sing terribly," Heather chants as we reach the commons. "Elephants in Mexico sing terribly..." "Heather, what the heck," I opine.
"You 've been orating that all day." "Its actually for my Astronomy assessment tomorrow, the whole class needs to know the layers of the atmosphere..
Elephants mean Exosphere, In means Ionosphere, Mexico means Mesosphere – " "Okay, that 's rash. But genuinely clever too. I need to remember that

"You 're welcome! Props to James though, he 's the bomb." "Speaking of James, where is that stud anyways?" I ask. "Haven 't seen him since

skeptical about it too; he scarcely texts me anymore and that makes me glum." "Well, whatever he 's doing right now, I 'm reasonably sure that
James is going to be fine." I console. At that instant, both Abby and Carlos plunk down with us, wearing their prototypical 'I 'm so done with life '

Personal Narrative-Scarred For Life
Scarred for life is a saying that is proven to be truthful. I took the fall that scarred my shoulder to look like the inside of a bitten strawberry. It was a hot
blazing 90–degree weather at Ponotoc High School Track and Field. Sweat dripped from my face and onto the track as I stretched and prepared for
the 4x200 meter relay race. This was the track meet that determined if we made it to state to compete in the championships. Our relay team was
number one in 4A District over all the teams in Mississippi therefore, we were anticipated to win. I headed back to the tent to grab my bright red
back that I saw from a distance that weighed a ton. I started to move things around swiftly and in a panicked matter searching for my track spikes. I
started to open my eyes wider as if I could zoom them in on my bag. I realized I left my track spikes back at school in my... Show more content on

at her or just look away, but I knew everyone was angry at me from the fall I had that caused us to lose the most important race. Everyone was

Brenda Klein was not your average woman. In fact, she wasn't really a woman at all. Well, she was half a woman, she thought to herself. Brenda
was the latest in a long line of wolf shifters, and as such she had the power to change into any wolf at the drop of a hat. She was not a werewolf by
any means. Werewolves could not control who or what they were. Every full moon they were forced into being a mindless, horny, manic creature.
She was a wolf shifter, who could control her power to change into a wolf. Her and her kind would use their powers to keep werewolves away from
innocent humans. It was a full time job, and Brenda loved it. She loved the rough and challenging aspects of the job. It was like a drug, the ... Show

She was a hot woman; it was not hard for her to find a good lay. She was tall, with long legs. Her body was tan, and toned to perfection. She had
long wavy brown hair perfect for grabbing from behind, and striking sapphire blue eyes. She was a damn catch, and she knew it. She knew that the
bartender was just as attracted to her as she was to him. His stunning emerald green eyes were glazed with desire, he might as well be drooling. She
loved having that power over men. Although she could not be pretended that she wasn't just as turned on by him. He had shoulder length black hair
that was simply begging for her to run her hands through. He wore a tight black tank top that emphasized his massive pecs and delicious abs. She
licked her lips as she watched his firm ass walk to the other end of the bar in his well fitting jeans. She wouldn't let him fall through her fingers

"My name is Brenda," she said, subtly pulling her shirt down a little more. "What brings you to New Orleans Brenda?" he asked in his southern drawl.

Her stated preference for white gold acted in Richard the thought that there was so much he didn't about Lexi, maybe she had preferred it back then,
but he couldn't recall. All the little details and events that occurred in the intervening years. The love for her that he'd back then was still there, and
she was still the same person that he'd missed and dreamed of spending his life with, but as he'd grown to a man from a boy, she'd transformed from

Personal Narrative: The Holy City Zoo
Each three–day break provided a multitude of opportunities for an untethered 19–year–old to exercise his independence, sew some oats and inevitably
get into trouble. Combine that with an abundance of alcohol in a country where the drinking age seems to be non–existent, and the mind would
provide a scenario designed to test my limits and nothing seemed impossible! First and foremost, if your goal for your leave included an attempt to
drink from one end of the strip to the other, (not an uncommon goal) you would exit the base via the Friendship Gate. This was the first gate you
come to when traveling down Manuel Rojas Highway towards the Main Gate. Just outside of Friendship Gate was a bar called Third Eye, one of the

The Holy City Zoo advertised itself as a Video Rock Joint. It actually was set up like a theater with three or four rows of raised counters with stools

movements that were supposed to be sexy, to the 80s hair band videos. Cinderella, Dokken, Ratt, the Scorpions, Poison and Def Leppard often were
the backdrop to a drunken evening in the bar. Once a month, the Zoo would also have a showing of the cult classic, the "Rocky Horror Picture

I sat in a small, dirty and crowded holding cell in Fort Bend County jail. Sitting here waiting to get processed and see the nurse, Mane! These men in

The smell of musty underarms, alcohol and feet made it unbearable to breath. It was time for me to live with the consequences of the choices I had

Johnny sacks consist of a baloney sandwich, peanut butter and jelly sandwich, an apple and a pack of mustard with a small bag of chips in a

Louise Percy, is ex–navy and worked for the federal government on Fort Drum until she retired ever since I was born. My father, Donald Bishop, was
a beauty. He was in and out of prison all his life, including juvenile. He was imprisoned much through my baby–toddler stage and when he wasn't
imprisoned he jumped from construction job to construction job, drinking and smoking marijuana heavily until the day he died, last May 28th. I was
born into a household with my mother, father, brother and half–sister for the first few years in my life. My half–sister skipped town after developing a
heroin addiction and my father drove my mother psychologically insane until she ended up in a psych ward and we spent a few weeks with my
grandmother (father's mom) until she was released. My mother and father split up and my father never fought for custody nor paid child support. My

How Does Alexie Show Courage In To Kill A Mockingbird
Have you ever read a book with a lot of courage in it? Many of the books I read this year had aspects of courage. In these next few paragraphs, I will be

Prejudice in the Film American History X
Prejudice, a preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or personal experience. The amount of prejudice differs from person to person, but
no one is free from it. In the film, American History X, Derek is a great example of how prejudice someone can be. Derek agrees with the white
power movement because he feels victimized and threatened by everyone who is not white, but in prison he learns his stereotypes are full of
holes; from the film I learned there is no reason to hate one another based on race or stereotypes. Life is too short to live a life based on hate.
Throughout the film, American History X, Derek feels victimized and threatened as a white American. He blames gangs, blacks, immigrants and
even his mentor Cameron for all of America's problems. For instance, in one of the scenes in the film, both whites and blacks were playing
basketball on the local basketball court. After an argument with one of the blacks, Derek decides whoever wins the game keeps the court and
whoever loses leaves for good. " If you win, we will walk outta here, but if we win, no bitching, no fighting, right here in front of everybody you
pack up your shit and get your black asses outta here (American History X)." The violent game came to an end and the black gang was kicked out.
Instead of kicking each other off the court, they should have shared at least half. However, Derek felt the black people don't deserve to play on the same
ground as the whites. Derek claims his fathers

Morality In The Film 'Do The Right Thing'
The title itself "Do The Right Thing" is oxymoronic because nobody in the film does the right thing. This can be said about even now. The people in
the film thought that by burning down the pizzeria a change would happen, just like now how the rioters in Chicago and St. Louis. In the film you get
a sense of familiarity because the scenery you see in the film is the same as what you see around you. Bed Stuy represent all of the black
neighborhoods in America that are middle class or poor.
The movie show the characters as contradictory human beings. Sal owns a pizzeria pizza in a majority African American neighborhood, but utters
racial slurs to Radio Raheem and Buggin. Sal proved that Malcolm X's Theory that white people can still be allies to black people but inherently
racist and still have the mindset that they are more superior to black people. Did Sal's pizzeria symbolize the lingering white supremacy in Bed–Stuy?

Oppression Of Gender Roles In Wonder Woman By Christian Stoic
Like I previously mentioned, the genre of action and adventure is so diverse, and there are so many heroines and female characters, it is hard to argue
that women in action roles strictly have a negative impact on female viewers. Also, it would be completely inappropriate to argue that women in lead
action roles have no positive impacts on female viewers. As society continues to advance, female heroines are also evolving and moving further away
from the traditionally hypersexualized characters. Instead, these heroines are easier for women to identify with, they are extremely strong and
independent female leads, and they are dressed more practically/appropriately. A few examples of these new age action heroines include Jessica Jones,
Alicia ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I believe that there is still a lot of work that needs to be done when it comes to female heroines, and I hope that in time (sooner rather than later)
these women heroines will serve strictly to empower and inspire women of all ages. One reason that these heroines are sexualized and dumbed
down more often than not might be due to the lack of equality in terms of male and female directors. In an article written by Yohana Desta, it states
that "There are about 23.8 male directors for every female director" (Desta 2017), and also that "Women were more likely to direct dramas, and less
likely to direct science fiction or action films–which are, imperatively, often the most successful and lucrative genres in the business" (Desta 2017).
Since these lead female roles are written and created mainly by men and not women, they are more aimed at a male audience. This is most likely
why these women's bodies are focused on more than making these characters into well rounded heroines that could serve to inspire women. I believe
that in order to transition from these heroines negatively impacting females, to these heroines serving to empower women, there first needs to be an
increase in the number of female directors in Hollywood. I also feel that male directors should use women such as Jessica Jones or the

3. Empty hand techniques became prevalent during the period of 1467 to 1574 as commoners in Japan were prohibited from carrying weapons.
4. During the late 1800's Jiu–jitsu techniques became popular in America in both law enforcement and the military as a method to subdue criminals
(Yadan, 1979).
5. These techniques incorporate movements easily accessible to the average person to counteract aggressive threats. C. Modern interpretations 1.
Self–defense is a countermeasure involving defending oneself or the well–being of another from harm.
2. "The Marine Corps Martial Arts Program consists of three components; mental discipline, character discipline, and physical discipline" (United States
Marine Corps, 2003, p. 3).
3. Self–defense starts with the mental discipline to fight. The human body produces a fight or flight response in high stress situations.
4. Knowledge of techniques can protect the individual through an understanding of target areas and personal weapons
II. Three individual body parts can be used as weapons for self–defense.
These body parts are the bony areas or personal weapons. The idea is to use a hard area to hit a soft area. The resulting strike produces more damage,
reduces the likelihood of injury to the defender, and utilizes larger muscles eliminating the need for fine motor control. Fine motor control is reduced in
high stress situations.

Pinky: A Fictional Narrative
Imagine hearing everyone you love crying, praying, and begging for you to just open your eyes or move your hand and you are trying your best
but your body refuses to do what your brain tells it. It's killing me to hear Dmitri's voice constantly talking to me telling me how sorry he was and
how much he loved me. I never thought my brother would be this depressed without me he cried almost every time he came into my room and
Shanice was no better even though she tried to be strong she was failing miserably, but the voice I wanted to her the most was my angels. Not hearing
Lyric's sweet voice for so long was killing me, I have no idea how long I've been like this but it feels like forever, all I want is my life back. As soon as

A year had pass. A man that she need to call a father didn't give her enough support and kicking her out of the house after knowing that she was

Racism In Sue Monk Kidd's The Secret Life Of Bees
In our society of civilized people we are still blind and oblivious to the things around us. Racism is seen as not as relevant now and that it is no
longer a problem, but today it is still a huge problem especially in the southern parts of America. Black Lives Matter is a campaign that started over
white police shooting black people, people may see this as "oh protesting for their rights," which is true but the news doesn't show that people
protesting actually have been beaten up or even killed. The news is one of the major reasons we are limited by our perceptions of our world because
they don't tell us every detail. The Secret Life of Bees follows the life of a young girl who is overrun by guilt from the death of her mother. She is closed

At the beginning of the book Lily perceives her parents differently from one another. T–ray is seen as a mean cold hearted man who shows no affection
towards Lily. "You wake me up again Lily, I'll get out the Martha Whites, you hear me?" (pg. 5) The Martha Whites was a punishment T
–Ray came up
with, he would make Lily kneel on dried oats until her knees bled. Lily's Mom, which she killed when she was four was perceived as this angel
watching over her and always out to protect Lily. Lily was overrun with so much guilt when she killed her mother that is caused her to lose her
connection with life. When she started living with the Boatwright sisters she reconnected with life and realized and found out who her parents really
were. She learned that she was an accident, her mother ran away from her and T–Ray to stay with August and the sisters, but she learned that her
mother tried to make things up and she went to go retrieve Lily but got killed. T–Ray near the end of the novel hallucinates at the boatwright house and
sees Lily as his dead wife. "You're not leaving me again Deborah!" Lily realizes that T–Ray actually cares about her and leaves her alone with August.
Lily's perceptions of her parents were changed when she found out who they actually are.
In the Secret Life of Bees it shows how people may act one way but feel another, how loves isn't fixed or certain, and it showed that people are

Descriptive Essay About Dance Club

  • 1. Descriptive Essay About Dance Club We walk into the club just a new song begins to play. The vibrations give me a funny feeling causing me to laugh. Suki looks at me smiling. "I have never had anyone come out with me." "Well you do now," I smile. She grabs my arm and we clack our way over to the bar, my ankle almost giving out in the process because of the heels I am wearing. We have at least five shots to get us started since we have a high tolerance for liquor. I see people dancing around crazily while singing along to the song making me want to do the same. I pull Suki to the dance floor and we start shaking our hips along with moving our shoulders. We whip our hair around causing her to smack a guy in the process. I laugh hysterically as she turns around to apologize. He says if she dances with him she will be forgiven. Turning to look at me she smiles brightly. "I cannot leave my friend," she says. "I do not mind. Take her away!" She whispers a thank you and skips away with her new buddy. I close my eyes and sway my hips. My dress begins to rise because of the movement of my thighs, and my butt makes the dress higher in the back which is not helping. I just want to have a good time and forget, so heading back to the bar sounds like a good idea. I take some more shots feeling it burn my throat on the way down. I see Suki and her man dancing very close. Her arms around around his neck, his arms low on her back, she leans back and sways showing off her flexibility. His eyes grow big at her ... Essay Life Changingsurviving Life's Unexpected Events Jerry Bruneau October 26, 2010 Personal Narrative Essay Life ChangingSurviving Life's Unexpected Events My life was outstanding after moving to Dallas. It was like something you read about in magazines or watch in a movie. I had the dream job, car, house, and social life. I worked as a bartender at the hottest nightclub in town and made a lot of money. I bought a beautifully restored 1961 Porsche, a lot like the one that James Dean had died in. My car had a pearl– white paint job, a red–leather interior, and aluminum alloy wheels with low–profile racing tires. I was living in a guesthouse on the estate of the nightclub owner; he lived in the mansion in front. We had parties there almost every night around theswimming pool. ... The first thing they did after giving me a quick look over was to inform me my left eye had been knocked out the socket. My eye was lying on my cheek and they needed to put it back in the socket. They told me this was going to be very painful, and they would not be able to give me anything for the pain until I was at the hospital. They put something in my mouth that resembled a rubber dog bone, to keep me from biting my tongue, and endure the severe pain. After getting my eye back in the socket, they bandaged up my head, and. my face.. I could still see with my right eye, and I noticed the police had arrived. They were handcuffing a man in his late thirties or early forties, and putting him into the back of their police car. The man had just hit me with his car. The firefighters and paramedics tried to remove me from my car. I screamed out in pain and begged them to stop. I was pinned in the car. My legs and feet were tangled up with the clutch and brake pedals. They had to remove the driver's door, the windshield, and the steering wheel. It took the firefighters and paramedics quite some time to free me from the vehicle. When they finally succeeded, I was rolled on a stretcher into the ambulance and raced towards the hospital. I remember the sirens screaming and the paramedic told me, "You're going to be all right, just holding on." Hell, I had a death grip on that stretcher. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. We Should Not Go Through A War I believe as a race we should not go through another war to defend our rights as a n Americans. It was an ancestor of mine that was brought kicking and screaming here to work free of charge because some lazy ass farmer could work his own land. Without his slaves three generations his great grand children let the farm fall into disrepair. They had to sell it off. I can say my grandmother was proud to let all that work go to waste. As soon as those bells rung she left that farm and never looked back. She never told my mother because she wanted her family clear of the past. She was one of the lucky ones with no roots to tie her there. She was bought for breeding stock two years before. She bore two children. She had to walk many miles for a place of employment with a toddler on her back and baby slung in the front. She was a woman with no husband. Somewhere around Illinois a family took her in. They gave her a job and a place to learn. Fastword to 1903, Washington has pushed his biography to appeal to the white market. He is a man that is sitting on the fence in a "race" of tugawar. He wishes to wash clean the sin of slavery by making it a gentler time. My Grandmother did not see it that way. She walked many a mile to break all ties my her former life. I know nothing of my family besides what my grandmother brought. I have no choice in the matter of my birth or history. Many like my Grandmother choose to forget it. I'm such a terrible narrator. You must be asking three questions. Who am I talking about? Who am I? Why am I reading to this? First off, you chose to. Second, I'm talking about Nevada Ramirez, Dominican–American drug lord extraordinaire. I hope that doesn't ring with sarcasm. And your narrator that you are stuck with has a name too. Harold Lockhart but I prefer Harry, however, my undercover name was Benjamin "Benji" Waterhouse. Now we're all caught up back up to the present. I usually left by myself to stay in my little apartment, which, if you're curious, is shitastic by the way. Thanks, Perry. Anyways, one thing leads to another and I end up in Nevada's condo. Talk about living in the lap of luxury. You know those films where you enter into a villain's place and he has a naked chick or two at his beckon call and some weird exotic animal? It was like that. I mean, there was a goddamn spider monkey climbing the stairs. Or is it a capuchin? I'm not a zookeeper, it was some kind of monkey. There were marble floors, modern deco, weird art everywhere. I wish I had a camera to send to Perry just to make him jealous. And there were 2 topless women who greeted him. Scarface came to mind with this guy. "Hola, Papi chulo," a brunette greets Nevada with a kiss, caressing his crotch. "ВїOh? ВїQuien es tu amigo guapo, Papi?" He holds her hand, closer to his crotch, snarling, "Mine for tonight, Leta." Her smile fades a little as she walks away. I couldn't help but stare at the other woman with auburn hair, "Wow, she's beautiful." Jesus, I sounded like I was 12 again. I know things will work out for you as long as you take firm steps and continue going in the right direction. Remember this, only you can control your mind, body and destiny. Only you! Do not let bad habits (alcohol & cigarettes), bad company and negative distractions to control you and your life. Find peace of mind and get your head clear now so when you get older you have fewer issues to deal with. Here is a secret for you. As you get older, your body and mind will go through changes. As you age, your body will not be as strong as it used to be and your mind will fight demons that you have never seen before. Therefore, you will need to prepare your body and mind now that you are young for the things that are yet to come and that you do not have visibility of. As long as you keep a clean and strong body and have good peace of mind you will do well as you get older. I hope I did not get you lost with this advice. Bottom line, make positive changes now that you still have time so when you get older you will be a happier and better person. Only look what is in front of you and do not think about the past. When he comes for me, I don't want anyone else to get in the way. I don't want Mason or Anna or Chase or anyone else getting mixed up in my shit. The planet's surface temperature at the time was 462 degrees Celsius and pressure at that altitude, 90 atmospheres; that gave my COGS about seven hours before being crushed. You also gain free knowledge and experience that many outside people in the civilian world do not have the chance or opportunity to be a part of. • 13. Do The Right Thing Is A Beautifully Intense Film Directed... Do the Right Thing is a beautifully intense film directed by the talented Spike Lee, which revolves around the very diverse community of the Bedford–Stuyvesant district of Brooklyn on a hot summer Sunday. Throughout the entire film, characters are faced with obstacles and injustices that bring up the grand question of what the "right thing" even is. One scene in particular sums up the whole premise of the film into a concise and poetic speech spoken by the one and only Radio Raheem. This scene is imperative to have in the film as well as for the viewers. Without this scene, the film itself would not have the same impact and possibly the same message it has already given all of its spectators. Radio Raheem is definitely an interesting character to say the least, just like many of the characters in this film; they individually embody an aspect of the microcosm they reside in. Some characters can be as apparent as "Buggin' Out". Not only is his name a term for losing control, but the character himself seems to cause trouble whenever he see's a social injustice [no matter right or wrong on the subject]. Some can be more intricate like working man Mookie who lazes away day by day just waiting for his money at the end of it all. Although he is a man of the streets, a man that viewers like myself have grown fond of towards the films progression, Mookie is still a working–class man in this society, nothing more, and nothing less. As for Radio Raheem, he is a walking contradiction ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. Time The Two Deliverymen Left Max 's House By the time the two deliverymen left Max's house, they were slathered in sweat. Each had wet inverted pyramids soaked through the backs of their green coveralls. To Max, the sweat spots looked as though they were part of the delivery company's uniforms. Each dabbed and rubbed their handkerchiefs across their craggy and ruddy faces while rolling up their long sleeves in a way to help cool themselves. By the time they had unloaded, unpacked, and situated the new refrigerator under the overzealous and finicky eyes of Max's father, both deliveryman were boiling with quieted acrimony. As a consequence, they didn't hesitate to oblige Max's youthful request to leave the cardboard box that the new refrigerator arrived in, so that he could play with it. When Max had anxiously asked, the fatter of the two deliveryman smiled and answered loudly, "Sure kid, we'd be glad to," and under his breath said, "anything to get us out of here quicker." Max eyeballed the box with anticipation and guesstimated it to be roughly four feet wide and nearly the length of the one man canoe his father had vehemently insisted Max learn to use on his 7th birthday, last spring. Although Max had tried to decline, he was unsuccessful. Grudgingly, Max attempted to use it and as a result and nearly drowned as a result. His father hadn't so much tried teaching Max, as much as stood from shore and yelled at him. His father dragged the canoe out of the slow meandering river and snipped, "At least the canoe is ... • 16. Revelation by Ruby Turpin Essay Revelation by Ruby Turpin There are three distinctive characteristics that Ruby Turpin showed in the essay "Revelation." Ruby was an extremely dominant woman who was judgmental, controlling, and blind to the true reality of life. She was definitely in need of a revelation in order to help her with a change in attitude. I suppose she was never introduced to the saying "the first shall be last and the last shall be first." Claud and Ruby Turpin were a couple that had a little of everything. They didn't want for much and didn't mind giving to the needy. They didn't have any children, just a yard full of chickens, cows, and hogs, and a house of their own. So Ruby considered herself to be at the top of the poll when it came to economic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She was a woman who was pretty big in size, a bit taller than Claud, and she had a stern voice. She felt like what she viewed and said goes and that everyone should think and move to her command. Ruby also showed this controlling attitude towards those in the doctor's office also. Which is why the young college girl, Mary Grace, called her "a wart hog from hell." Mary Grace referenced her to the big husky, mean, and stern wart hog. Mary Grace could see right through her, which is probably why she felt the need to throw the book at her and proceed to choke her. Ruby couldn't figure out why this happened then, but she would soon find out why. Ruby believed that doing good deeds made her the better person and would surely get her a first class seat into heaven, when in fact it doesn't. She felt like these things made her also a better Christian: "To help anybody out that needed it was her philosophy of life. She never spared herself when she found somebody in need, whether they were white or black, trash or decent" (271). True enough it didn't matter to her how fat, ugly, or poor she was, just as long as she was a good person. She failed to realize that just being a good person was truly of no heavenly value, what mattered is how she really felt in her heart and how humble she was with all of her possession. Ruby was mean and hateful in thoughts, and so all her goodness was in vain. She also lifted herself up in life by taking account of all she had ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I knew that if I was still back at home in Saraland and was ever in such a mood as the one that I found myself right then, he would have ditched school with me in a heartbeat. We would've spent the day at the beach down by the Gulf, or possibly gone to the movies, or had done something fun together, I'm sure. As I stood there alone and miserable, I found myself never having missed my friends or Saraland more than I did right then, and I almost felt like... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... McLaren had gotten up from his desk and went right into his spiel. He began his lecture by talking about the Big–bang theory and how the universe came into creation. He then started asking random students questions about the lecture. His query had kicked off with a burn–out named Michael who was sitting next to Keri. The question he was asked was, what he thought the most abundant element in the universe was? The boy thought about it for a moment and then said, "I don't know... Rock, I guess." Mr. McLaren then leered down at him like a praying mantis and said to him with that prissy little headshake he likes to do, "No, rock is not the most abundant element in the universe, Michael. Hydrogen is!" I then watched as Michael rolled his eyes before putting his head down, shaking it slightly in disgust. If, I could've read Michael's mind, I'm sure he was thinking, fuck you, Fag. • 32. How Does Alexie Show Courage In To Kill A Mockingbird Have you ever read a book with a lot of courage in it? Many of the books I read this year had aspects of courage. In these next few paragraphs, I will be talking about courage expressed in The Absolutely True Diary of a Part–Time Indian, To Kill a Mockingbird, Holocaust books, and The Merchant of Venice. In the book The Absolutely True Diary of a Part –Time Indian, Junior shows lots of courage throughout the book. "Rowdy, I am going to Reardan tomorrow." (51, Alexie) When Junior stands up to everyone, including his friend, and decides to go to Reardan, he shows courage to make a change in what used to be just to stay in one place and try not to make a difference. "'You can't stop me. I've been kicking your ass for fourteen years.' Rowdy said. 'Not tonight,' I said. 'Tonight's my night.'" (191, Alexie) In this statement, Rowdy is guarding Junior in the basketball game and Junior was thinking about not playing earlier but chose to at the end and went up against Rowdy, his best friend. After the dance, Junior was planning on walking home, but Penelope asked him if he was poor, so Junior told the truth. Penelope was surprised... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 'Instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand.'" (112, Lee) In this quote, Atticus is explaining what courage really is to Scout and Jem and what it means to have courage. • 33. Prejudice in the Film American History X Prejudice, a preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or personal experience. The amount of prejudice differs from person to person, but no one is free from it. In the film, American History X, Derek is a great example of how prejudice someone can be. Derek agrees with the white power movement because he feels victimized and threatened by everyone who is not white, but in prison he learns his stereotypes are full of holes; from the film I learned there is no reason to hate one another based on race or stereotypes. Life is too short to live a life based on hate. Throughout the film, American History X, Derek feels victimized and threatened as a white American. He blames gangs, blacks, immigrants and even his mentor Cameron for all of America's problems. For instance, in one of the scenes in the film, both whites and blacks were playing basketball on the local basketball court. After an argument with one of the blacks, Derek decides whoever wins the game keeps the court and whoever loses leaves for good. " If you win, we will walk outta here, but if we win, no bitching, no fighting, right here in front of everybody you pack up your shit and get your black asses outta here (American History X)." The violent game came to an end and the black gang was kicked out. Instead of kicking each other off the court, they should have shared at least half. However, Derek felt the black people don't deserve to play on the same ground as the whites. Derek claims his fathers ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Morality In The Film 'Do The Right Thing' The title itself "Do The Right Thing" is oxymoronic because nobody in the film does the right thing. This can be said about even now. The people in the film thought that by burning down the pizzeria a change would happen, just like now how the rioters in Chicago and St. Louis. In the film you get a sense of familiarity because the scenery you see in the film is the same as what you see around you. Bed Stuy represent all of the black neighborhoods in America that are middle class or poor. The movie show the characters as contradictory human beings. Sal owns a pizzeria pizza in a majority African American neighborhood, but utters racial slurs to Radio Raheem and Buggin. Sal proved that Malcolm X's Theory that white people can still be allies to black people but inherently racist and still have the mindset that they are more superior to black people. For an example in Bed–Stuy the only businesses we saw were owned by Sal and a Korean couple. I see connections between the Korean stores/Pizzeria in Mookie's neighborhood and the black neighborhoods in Cleveland and the Jewish run store in Malcolm X's neighborhood. My Summer Vacation Summer 2014, it was a memorial summer, the time between secondary and highschool, when you have to say goodbye to your old friends and prepare to go to a new school, meet new friend, live in a new environment. In class, I only hang out with 4 dudes, so we planned to have a summer trip to say goodbye to each other. It supposed to be a 7 days trip, but we gotta cut it down to 4 because lack of money. The first day of the trip was good, we had an amazng time, we checked in at the hotel very late at night, I was very tired so I just jumped to bed instantly. Closed my eye, I can heard the the sound of the wave outside because our hotel is next to the beach, I started to fall asleep, wait I felt the wind coming toward me, no im falling down, I screamed, opened my eyes, it just a dream, I checked the clock, it was 5:30am, nobody was there, "Oh!": I said, they must have gone to the port by now, it was a idea of one of my friends, sailing overnight on a fisher–boat, I thought it was a stupid idea so I refused and decided to stay at the hotel. I looked out of the window, the sun was starting to rice, I opened the window, I can smell the sea, it was so peaceful, I can see some couples walking, "This is heaven." I thought to myself. Picked up my phone, I went to the bathroom, locked the door, I sat down on the toilet, played some pointless game on my phone, it was very hot in here so I started to sweat a lot, usually I spent like 30 mins in the toilet just surfing the internet but this ... For the first couple of days of being funemployed, you sit in your living room, turn on the television and think to yourself, "finally, I can finish this season of Game of Thrones." 2. The last paycheck has hit your bank account and you treat yourself to some grub you order online. "Thanks, Carlos, for delivering this grande quesadilla to me," you say. What's this? The next season of Bates Motel is on Netflix? Better get on that. 3. It's finally the weekend, and you ask your friends what they are up to. "Alright, I'll meet you in twenty." They are waiting for you at the bar. "So, how's being unemployed?" says friend A. You respond, "It's scary, but I got to chill in my pajamas ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... You can't even go on an actual vacation. Forget the nearest attraction. It's cold and the subway fare is equivalent to a chicken over rice combo that you have been wanting for quite some time. 13. There is a silver lining on that dark grey cloud over your head. You tell yourself, "Maybe a drink or two at that bar won't hurt. It's happy hour after all." Drink after drink and takeout after takeout, you finally snap. "I've got to pull myself together! It's no fun being unemployed!" Even your dog is tired of your attitude. You take this time to put on some calming music you found on YouTube and focus on the main thing: getting out of this so–called–funemployed rut. 14. • 37. Oppression Of Gender Roles In Wonder Woman By Christian Stoic Like I previously mentioned, the genre of action and adventure is so diverse, and there are so many heroines and female characters, it is hard to argue that women in action roles strictly have a negative impact on female viewers. Also, it would be completely inappropriate to argue that women in lead action roles have no positive impacts on female viewers. As society continues to advance, female heroines are also evolving and moving further away from the traditionally hypersexualized characters. Instead, these heroines are easier for women to identify with, they are extremely strong and independent female leads, and they are dressed more practically/appropriately. A few examples of these new age action heroines include Jessica Jones, Alicia ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I believe that there is still a lot of work that needs to be done when it comes to female heroines, and I hope that in time (sooner rather than later) these women heroines will serve strictly to empower and inspire women of all ages. One reason that these heroines are sexualized and dumbed down more often than not might be due to the lack of equality in terms of male and female directors. In an article written by Yohana Desta, it states that "There are about 23.8 male directors for every female director" (Desta 2017), and also that "Women were more likely to direct dramas, and less likely to direct science fiction or action films–which are, imperatively, often the most successful and lucrative genres in the business" (Desta 2017). Since these lead female roles are written and created mainly by men and not women, they are more aimed at a male audience. This is most likely why these women's bodies are focused on more than making these characters into well rounded heroines that could serve to inspire women. I believe that in order to transition from these heroines negatively impacting females, to these heroines serving to empower women, there first needs to be an increase in the number of female directors in Hollywood. I also feel that male directors should use women such as Jessica Jones or the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Knowledge of techniques can protect the individual through an understanding of target areas and personal weapons II. Three individual body parts can be used as weapons for self–defense. These body parts are the bony areas or personal weapons. The idea is to use a hard area to hit a soft area. The resulting strike produces more damage, reduces the likelihood of injury to the defender, and utilizes larger muscles eliminating the need for fine motor control. Fine motor control is reduced in
