2. Research and Planning
Research and planning had a huge effect on my
work, I began only really seeing the magazine from
a customers point of view not looking at the finer
details. As I began to do research such as the genre
and audience analysis to understand more about
the genre I was appealing to and the textual
analysis looking how the magazine is laid out as well
as all the features it needs to include.
3. Research and Planning
I Began with no idea how to arrange a
magazine, the only reference I had
was attempting to copy the magazine.
I was rushed as I had wasted my time
spending so much time erasing the
background near his head for the title
I struggled to do much more.
4. Research and Planning
Following my textual analysis however I
knew that you first had to establish a
house style, then create a layout and
begin to fill it in, I used all of the
techniques and thought processes in the
textual analysis to create a much more
professionally styled magazine including
the fact that after learning from my
mistakes I put a lot more time into this
as well as concentration to stop
deadlines getting the better of me.
5. Composition
My skill sets have greatly improved I know have a much
better understanding of how to use such software as
Photoshop and InDesign using them to their maximum ability
to get the best magazine possible. As clearly shown hear I
have developed a sense of layout, I can confidently use
Photoshop to create the theme I want as well as ensuring the
house style remains throughout. My photography skills have
improved as well encouraging my models to move as well as
dressing the appropriately, I have also take the correct
distances in my opinion for the magazine I was creating as
well as setting up the camera to ensure for maximum quality
and removing over exposure etc. I have also included vital
parts of the magazine such as sell lines, a sky line, a
masthead, a title, a barcode and so on. It is clear how much
this course has helped me progress just by looking t these
two images.
