GENERAL OBJECTIVE
•At the end of class presentation the
students will be can gain the knowledge or
information about the cause of child
Labour and Learn about how to stop child
Labour in our society, region or country
and found the solution for stop child
Labour.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
•At the end of presentation students can able to
1. Get the introduction of child labour.
2. State the definition of child Labour.
3. Understands the causes of child Labour.
4. Knows criteria of area of child Labour
working.
5. Learn about how to stop child Labour.
Introduction
•ChildLabour refers to any work under takenby
childrenbetweenthe age of 14 years .
ChildLabour is the practice of havingchildren
engagein economic activityon part of full time
basisthe practice deprives childrenof their
childhoodand is harmful to theirphysical and
mentaldevelopment poverty, lack of good school
andgrowth of informal economy are considered
asthe important causeof childLabour in India.
Definition of child Labour
1. According to international labour organization (ILO).
“child labour is work performed by children under the age
of 14 years that exploits them, causes them harm or place
them in danger.”
2. Person below 14 years , working for most part of day.
3. One who is ought to in education but it working.
4. Work for children below the age of 14 years that harms
them in some way ( physically, mentaly, morally or blocking
access to education.)
Causes of child Labour
1. Overexploitation of population.
Limited resources and more mouth to feed,
children are employed In various forms of work.
2. Poverty
many times poverty can forces parents to send their
children to hazardous job .

• children born out wedlock , children with no
parents and relatives, often do not find anyone
to support then , thus they are forced to for their
own living.
•4. Illiteracy
•. Illiterate parents do not realise the need for a
proper physical, emotional and cognitive
development of child.
Here some also some causes of
child Labour
1. Increase of unemployment of parent.
2. Large Families.
3. Natural disasters and climate change .
Such as – Earthquake, floods, cyclones.
4. Vocational education weak.
5. Lack of schooling.
6. Decrease of resources.
7. Demand for cheap labour.
8. Lack of child labour awareness.
Area’s of child Labour
1. Agriculture
. Agriculture is the one of sector to work in any age . It is more
dengerous for children , however , children who work in agriculture
are working unpaid with their family.
2 . Construction
Children who are are working in construction are forced to deal with
all types of construction for long hours causing them a variety of pain
–physical , mental and emotional pain.
3. Domestic work
Domestic work is one of the child Labour, where children are sent to
houses to do house working such as , cleaning the house, washing
clothes, gardening, cooking and other things
4. Factory
Working in factories is a severe job, through which children are forced
to working for long hours, under a lot of physical andemotional pain
and for low wage .
such as ., firework industry, Beedi industry, Carpet industry, silk
industry.
5. Mining
•Children who work as miners are forced to use
their hands and tools to collect raw material and
extract the metal.
How to stop child Labour
1. Spreading awareness.
2. Send more children to school.
3. Stop people to employ children in home’s, shops,
factories, etc.
4. Provide free education for Orphans.
5. Legal action against who’s are employed child.
Child Labour Law in India
In India various laws have been made in our country since
1933 to control child Labour
1. Children (pleading of labour) Act 1933
2. The Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act of 1986
(CLPR Act) defines a child as anyone under the age of 14.
3. Employment of child Act 1938 .
4. The Bombay Shop and establishment Act 1948
5. Plantationlabour Act 1951
