University of Houston. She has written additional books that showcase the lives of LGBT citizens. D'Lane R. Compton is also an Associate Professor
of Sociology at the University of New Orleans. Baumle and Compton are also co–authors of Same–Sex Partners: The Demography of Sexual
Orientation. Families of the past have historically relied on the establishments of blood or law. Families are often stereotypically comprised of a

Working parents have to deal with some problems when it comes to working and parenting. They have to both do their jobs in the workforce and care
for their children at home in order to maintain their families. In other words, they cannot fully commit themselves to just working or parenting. Also,

Traditionally, the mother stays home with her children while the father takes on the workforce and generates the family income. However, with

She would not ask my dad for help as she knew he would not be to please to have to stop his resting, unless dinner was done. If was not common for
my dad to discipline us, unless my mother was busy handling another child. The most work my father would do, would be fixing the small things
around the house or working with the things that he really enjoyed. As it is said, "what one gives to a relationship is experienced as a cost, and

questions of motherhood and its prices. In Cinderella Ate my Daughter, Peggy Orenstein lays out the many way we have taught our girl to be
princesses and argues whether or not the princess culture is good for young girls. Orenstein talks about how toy companies are gendering not only their
toys, but also their advertisements making everything glitter pink or baby blue. She even talks about how babies weren't colored coded until the early
twentieth century. Orenstein lays it all starting from the beginning with girls and the color pink and taking it to the end with female bodies and
objectification.
The Double Standard article puts all our beliefs in check and makes us realize that women can and do have sexual desires despite Orensteins

My Experience In My Life
Life
Imagine being in a family that always had so much going on, so many people running around going places, doing things, coming over, basically just
always busy. Being the youngest it was never easy, always feeling like no one had time for me, not understand that I am not the only kid that has to be
taken care of.
It was the first day of kindergarten, my mother took me to the school and as we were walking in she told me, "Don't worry sweetheart, you are going
to make so many friends and mommy will be here to pick you up after the day is over." We hadn't even made it into the classroom and I was
already crying because I didn't want to leave my mom. I had never been away from my her for a whole day, how in the world did they expect me to
do that when I was only about five years old. She told me it would be alright and then proceeded to go back home. I spent half of the day in the
classroom crying, refusing to do anything but eventually gave in because I was hungry. When my mom picked me up from school that day, she
asked me how the day was, and by that time I had forgotten about how scared I was to be without her. I was so excited for the next day. It was the
end of the school year and I was loving it, I felt like I was finally getting the attention from the adults in my life that I had always been wanting. My

Hopefull. That describes Andrew in Fly Away Home by Eve Bunting. Andrew lives in a airport. He want the live a normal life but he can't because
he's stuck in an airport without a home. Though in a tough situation he still manages to keep a positive attitude, and he also is helpful. He is so young
yet he is still hopeful.
How would you react living in an airport since you were young, well Andrew manages to keep a positive attitude. In the story Andrew said "My dad
and I live in the airport, that's because we don't have a home and the airport is better than the streets." This shows his attitude while living in the airport
it's tough but he does not want to show his dad that he truly wants to live in a house. Andrew tries to stay positive through the situation he's going
through. But he is a lot more positive than most people would be in his predicament. Another example on how Andrew is positive is when he saw
the bird get stuck in the airport, "Don't stop trying!" he told it silently. "Don't! You can get out." This part is significant to the story by showing
how he is encouraging the bird to continue trying, that the bird can get out. But this makes me wonder if maybe he was just talking to himself
because he has no one to help him stay positive. His dad surely does not encourage him his dad likes it at the airport his dad does not understand
what Andrew really wants, yet Andrew still fights and he still has hope. The last example on how Andrew is positive is when he said "Then I
remember the bird, It took awhile but a door opened and when the bird left, when it flew free, I knew it was singing." It is important to notice that
before he said this he almost lost hope, he got mad at the people around him because they had more than him. But he then tried to focus on something
positive this shows that he truly wants to have hope and be positive.

with their skills. Also, society has placed women in the role of stay–at–home moms and housekeepers. Men who take on the duties of stay–at–home
dads are sometimes frowned upon by society and assumptions are made that the dad is not performing "manly" duties. However, there is no one
