2. History
Planet Employability is a project initiated by small grant
from the Higher Education Funding Council for England
(HEFCE) through their UnLtd social catalyst award.
The project will develop a platform for a coherent social
enterprise that will meet the challenges associated with
modern society and the potential of virtual worlds.
3. The Problem
• Two fold focus education market and labour market
• Inflexibility education system (EM)
• Ineffective recording of employability and enterprise skills
(EM)
• Excessive jobs applicants – sending lots of poor CVs (LM)
• Lack of entry level opportunties (LM)
• Enhance recruitment and employment market efficiencies
(LM)

The YES Passport will be the key to accessing Planet Employability

On arrival at the Planet Employability students will be given ‘assignments’
developed through the ‘Create Your Own Job’ programme at CIME (see
examples)
All assignments will be linked to real world opportunities

• Model is built on cost recovery ethos
• Initial ´free´basic packages
• Basic packages has YES passport and 8 missions and 2 Enterprise mission/quest (one
product and one service enterprise development)
• Advanced packages sold on ´Buy One Donate One Free´ to to a partner in the
developing world
• Extra missions cost €1 for skills missions and €5 for enterprise missions
• 2000 initial on-line contracts ($1-$3) for students to generate small on-line incomes
• Sponsorships and commercial partnerships
