for an hour each week. Were they trying to make people drop out? Well we survived! They also

the Senior Lot tradition to the underclassmen, the underclassmen quickly realized that the street
was a much safer place to park. Maybe we did inspire some of the same awe of the classes that

She had no idea she was molding a geographer. I can remember learning about Thanksgiving by
making a Turkey dinner out of play dough for my GI Joe figures and learning how to read by
wearing the pages of my Bernstein Bears books. . My mom even created a core class when she
introduced my brother and I to gerbils. It started out as a sexual reproduction chapter but after about
a month it became a math class just trying to keep up with how many new gerbils were in the cage.
When it came time to go into public school, I tested into the third grade but was given the option
to go into second to be with my age group. I can remember my mom asking me what grade I
wanted to go into and I felt so grown up and smart to say 'give me the third grade'. I can't imagine
the feeling my mom had leaving there knowing her son was going into the third grade after the

Once I was finished, I gathered up my cap and gown and my car keys and headed out the door. All

promised one of my best friends Tony that we would go together. I knocked on his back door and
let myself in like I always do. All of his family members were running throughout the house trying
to get ready. I asked his mom where Tony was and she proceeded to tell me that he was in the
bathroom getting ready. I tapped on the door and walked in. He was standing in front of the

we are about to graduate?" I replied," No, it really hasn't set in yet." Tony finished getting ready,
and then we left for the high school. The parking lot was filled with all the other seniors' cars.

Feel the tingle on your eyes; it is trying to tell you something so pay attention to it. Look, do you

all have the same questions: Do I have time to go to the bathroom? When will this Asian fool shut

Many people have experienced the over whelming excitement that you feel as you approach high
school graduation day, and for me, that's a day that I will never forget. The amount of emotions
that you feel on graduation day is unbelievable, and I have yet to experience anything else like it.
I can remember feeling anxious to celebrate the big day with my friends and family, while at the
same time I was panicking thinking about having to walk across the stage in front of that many

As the end of the night approached us, I couldn't stop thinking about how many mixed emotions I
had about starting a whole new chapter in my life. I couldn't wait to go to college, meet all new
people, get a degree so that I could start my career path, but I knew that meant I had to say goodbye
to my two best friends, who were moving several hours away from me. This was one of the hardest
things I had ever had to do in my life. We all cried a little, and then made promises to keep in touch,
and then we were off into the real world! I was very happy to be at this point in my life, but I was
scared deep down inside.
When I look back on this day now, I still remember every detail as if it was yesterday. I was so
proud, and happy to be able to celebrate such an amazing day with all of my friends and family. I

After High School what's next?
When I was a little girl my friends and I always talked about what we were going to be when we
grew up. Some said a teacher; others said a nurse, secretary, and even a mom. I knew what I was
going to be, but what we don't think about is how we get to be these things. We float through
elementary school, having small children fun. Next we go to middle school trying to find our ways
in the world, some of us worries about grades, and some don't. Not many thinking ahead of high
school, let alone college. In high school we soon realize that grades are very important and better
grades give you a better chance at better colleges. So those of us who want to go to college start
cramping down on our studies so we can get those desirable grades. I may have not been the perfect
student throughout high school. My Study habits could have been better, but one thing I do know is
that I want to do more with my life than just a high school diploma.
My thoughts go to what college should I go to? Which one is best? What can I afford? Do I stay
on campus or live at home? Maybe get a roommate and share an apartment I'm still not sure about
that. I want to take a course to become an Ultrasound Technician. Living here in Allentown, Pa a
few choices I have is McCann, and they offer a medical assisting course. I would apply for financial
aid and even have to get a student loan. Also there is Northampton Community College, not too far,

Ok, its 12:15 and I just walked into my house from seeing a movie with three of my best friends

put on a stern exterior, one of certainty and readiness. The truth is, I'm going to miss being here.
