2. Action films have an impact on the audience. It contains continuous high energy, lots of
physical stunts and activity. Normally action films consist of chase
scenes, races, rescues, battles, fights, escapes and disasters such as
floods, explosions, natural disasters, fires, etc. They also include adventurous heroes - all
designed for pure audience escapism with the action sequences at the core of the film.
3. HORROR
Horror films are designed to frighten the audience and bring out our inner fears and to
also unsettle them. Horrors have often shocking endings. Horror films concentrate on the
darker side of life. They have strange and alarming events. They play with the audience’s
fear of the unknown.
4. COMEDY
Comedies are light-hearted dramas consistently and deliberately designed to amuse and
provoke laughter from the audience (with one-liners, jokes, etc.) they do this by
exaggerating the situation, the language, action, relationships and characters. They
usually have happy endings, although the humour may have a serious or pessimistic side.
5. ADVENTURE
Adventure films are usually exciting stories, with new experiences or exotic. Adventure
films are very similar to the action films, because they are designed to provide an actionfilled, energetic experience for the film viewer. Rather than violence and fighting which is
found in action films, however, the viewers of adventure films can experience travels,
conquests, explorations, creation of empires, struggles and situations that confront the
main characters.
