Ode to granny’s chair
- 2. Back when I was a child, and Story time
rolled in every afternoon after
naptime,
- 3. The old wooden chair cradled
Granny, And her grandchildren
snuggled in her lap
- 4. while her childhood memories spilled
from her lips, her arms clutched the
limbs of the chair,
- 6. The chair shone like an old movie that
whispered its story of growing up in
World War II Germany in black and
white.
- 8. Of how the world rotated in a
relaxed motion, Like a pitcher
warming up his arm in bullpen.
- 9. The ebon coated wood guffawed
Every time its accomplice sank down
In its white chambray cushion.
