VALLEY of DEATH
For the font, I’m aiming to incorporate
contrasting colours that go well together for the
font colour. My idea is that the words ‘Valley’
and Death will either be in white or black and
‘of’ will be in red. The word ‘of’, I plan to choose
a calligraphic approach for the font and use
italic and bold to accentuate it.
For the tagline, I have chosen three potential ones that
could possibly feature. 1) ‘Where there’s a valley, there’s a
death’, 2) ‘Valley, valley on the hills, who is the one giving
the chills?’ And 3) ‘Once you go in, you can never go out.’
My favourite personally is number 2 because it gives the
impression of a nursery rhyme tale which leads into drama
and thriller. It is also quite catchy and does not gender
reference.
Personally for me, I can picture Joanna Page as the main
detective. She’s Welsh, well known and is a very good
actress. Plus I can imagine the female detective to be
blonde for some reason. This may be because Wales is
known for having blonde haired people. The male
sidekick will be Jason Hughes who has starred in
Midsummer Murders and he is perfect for the role as he
has already featured in crime related dramas. The female
will be called Morgan and the male Evan.
Because we have to choose names for the female and
male sidekick, I decided that as a way of targeting both
males and females to have the female detective be
called a unisex name. I chose the name Morgan
because it has a feminine aspect about it but is very
tomboy as well. I chose Evan for the male purely
because it has something Welsh about it and is not a
typical male’s name.
For the posters, there should be a Welsh element
about it. As I can’t recreate the Wesh valleys, I will
take a picture of trees or woods and try to shadow
it within the background of the posters. I will
recolour the picture to match the background but
make it slighter lighter which could be a grey/black
colour.
To add a sinister effect to the posters and to
grab the public’s attention, I decided that a rope
will be fitting to highlight the fact that the
drama is very thriller based as a rope is used to
strangle a victim.
