A poem I made up for KS1 students to celebrate Pancake Day.

1. Pancake Penny

There once was a girl called Pancake Penny,
Who loved eating pancakes,
But ever so many.
One day she was home,
And all alone,
Her mummy was shopping,
And Penny was hopping.
Hungry she felt
With all that jumping around,
She went to the kitchen and guess what she found?
Some eggs,
Some milk, Some flour and a pan
To mix them and beat them as fast as she can.
What do you think she will make from the pot?
Well yes you are right
And oh such a lot!
Pancakes with lemon and pancakes with honey,
And even a pancake with cheese which costs lots of money!
So home came her mummy and saw all the mess,
And you will never be able to guess...
What did mummy say to her naughty daughter?
Why don’t you do things like other girls oughta?
Oh Penny, oh Pernny you will look like one soon,
If you don’t stop mixing with that very big spoon!
