Unit Two Station Rotations
For the next two days, you will be working on five different assignments as you rotate
through various stations in class. All work must be completed by Friday (10/2) and will be
collected on Monday (10/5) before your test. The work from these stations will be counted
as a TEST grade. Therefore, if you do not finish work from a particular station, that becomes
your homework for the night. Put a check mark in front of each station after the work is
complete. You will turn this checklist in with your station work on Monday.
Station Directions:
_____ Station One – After learning about the Russian Revolution, the Treaty of Versailles, and the
Worldwide Depression, you are going to design a magazine cover that could have been seen during that
time period. You will need to include the following things in your design:
1. Choose to base your cover on the Russian Revolution, the Treaty of Versailles, or the Worldwide
Depression.
2. Write a catchy title that goes along with the topic you chose.
3. Draw a graphic (picture) that explains your title.
4. In the “Features” section, write 4 different titles of articles that could be featured in the
magazine. Also write down the page number that you want them to be on.
5. Color the magazine cover. *The border should be red, but you can color the rest any way that
you prefer.
6. Cut this sheet in half & turn the cover in!
_____ Station Two - Read the selection on Adolf Hitler and The Holocaust. Based on what you read
about Nazism and the Holocaust, you will be creating a poem that represents two voices during this time
period. On the left side of this paper, you will be writing a poem from the perspective of Adolf Hitler. On
the right side, you will be writing a poem from the perspective of a Victim of the Holocaust. Your poem
should reflect your feelings and emotions as if you were a person living in this time period.
_____ Station Three – Read the graphic novel Escape from Berlin. After reading, summarize in a
paragraph why people were so desperate to get from East Berlin to the west. Also, update your
vocabulary quilt with definitions in your own words.
_____ Station Four – After reading pgs. 832-836 and 880-883 in Journey Across Time, create a
Storyboard for major events in the Cold War. Write the Main Idea for each heading, and then sketch an
illustration to represent each idea.
_____ Station Five – Use your notes from this unit to complete the Study Guide. If you have not
completed stations that contain information needed for a part of the study guide, skip those sections.
Once you have gotten the info, complete those questions you skipped.
