   GRADE 7 TEACHER TRAINING PROGRAM ON THE K TO 12
             BASIC EDUCATION CURRICULUM

SESSION TITLE:       Overview of Health Curriculum

OBJECTIVES:

       The participants are expected to:
       1. Identify the areas of health in health curriculum and its approaches
       2. Express understanding the health curriculum in Grade 7

RESOURCES NEEDED: laptop, LCD projector.cartolina.crayola,


DURATION: 1 hour and 30 minutes


Introduction

        The health curriculum session deals with physical mental emotional,social
and moral and spiritual dimensions to integrate,coralte,and coordinate the
essential knowledge,attitude and skills necessary to promote good
nutrition,prevent and control diseases,substance use and abuse and reduce
health related risk,behaviors and injuries with the view to maintain and improving
personal family community national and global health in accordance to k to 12
curriculum.

Priming(10mins.)
      Fishball Activity
      1. Each participant will get their favorite colorede ball inside the fishball.
      2. The facilitator will instruct that the color “blue ball” have a question that
         whoever possess it will answer the question inside of it.
         a. What is the curriculum mean to you as a teacher?
         b. How did you understand or conception but the k to 12 curriculum
         c. Is nutrition importqant in what way?
         d. How do you prevent and control flue?
         e. What is the common community hesalth problems and why?
ACTIVITY (10 minutes)
            The Meta Strategies’
            1.We have 3 metacards on the board. Methods/Materials/Other
            2. On the blank card you are going to write your own
     Methods/Materials in teaching Health.


ANALYSIS (20 minutes)
           The participants will answer the following questions
              What methods and materials teachers usually use for teaching
              health. What’s in and out?

ABSTRACTION (30 minutes)

      Present and discuss the overview of health curriculum
            1. Growth and Development
            2. Nutrition
            3. Prevention and Control of diseases and disorders
            4. Community and environmental Health

APPLICATION (10 minutes)
