BASIC EDUCATION CURRICULUM
SESSION TITLE: Module 1: Growth and Development
OBJECTIVES:
The participants are expected to:
1. Explain the dimension of Holistic health
2. Analyze the interplay among health dimension in developing holistic
health
3. Practice health habits to achieve holistic health
RESOURCES NEEDED: laptop, LCD projector.
DURATION: 1 hour and 30 minutes
Introduction
This module highlights the importance of attaining holistic health. It also
focuses on the need to develop all dimensions of one’s health and coping skills
to be able to face challenges of adolescent life. Correct health information, a
positive attitude, healthy practices, and desirable coping skills are discussed to
help students attain and maintain holistic health.
Priming(5mins.)
Dealing with health misconception
Ask the participants to put their right thumb up when they agree to
the statement, and put their right thumb down when they disagree.
2. ACTIVITY (30 minutes)
The participants will be grouped into 5. Perform a creative output
showing the changes/characteristics among adolescents:
Group 1 – Pantomime
Group 2 – Jingle
Group 3 – Commercial
Group 4 – Dramatization
Group 5 – Tableau
ANALYSIS (15 minutes)
1. Based from the activity, what have you realized from the presentation?
2. How will you differentiate the changes between male and female
adolescent?
ABSTRACTION (25 minutes)
Discussion of power presentation – Module 1 (k to 12 training)
APPLICATION (10 minutes)
In a manila paper, write the following in a 3-2-1 pattern
3 concepts or ideas learned
2 two essentials questions you want to ask
1 essential understanding
