2. Introduction Your job is to work with the Red Cross and Shelter Box to collect donations and to deploy emergency relief supplies to Japan.

3. Task The organizations wants you to be well informed about the Tsunami Geology and what causes them, in order to better understand what has happened in Japan. You also need to learn what type of aid is needed to help the people effected by this natural disaster. The intent of this Web quests is to demonstrate to students the cause and effects of a Tsunami, the aftermath and how non-profitable organizations assist victims. This will foster open discussion and understanding of natural disaster. Also students will learn about community services, roles of relief volunteer groups and decision-making. You are a volunteer for the RED CROSS and SHELTER BOX. You have been deployed to Japan to assist with Shelter and Emergency Care. Before you Leave for Japan you need to do the following: Must learn about an Tsunami and what causes it, what kind of destruction does it cause and the aftermath. As a volunteer you must assess the needs in Japan, create supplies list and figure out a donation request amount. Develop ads and fundraiser. Work with other volunteers to create a strategy of how you will solicit donations, ship supplies and ensure delivery of goods and services.

6. Conclusion Japan and it’s economy was disrupted by this Tsunami. This natural disaster effects countries around the globe, including in the United States. The tsunami wiped out whole towns and cities, and it caused a nuclear catastrophe whose magnitude is not yet determined. Relief for Japan is in a great need. World Vision needs support to help children and families suffering from natural disasters around the world.
