1. How did you use media
technologies in the
construction and research,
planning and evaluation
stages?

2. Construction
I used Photoshop on the Mac computer to develop and
construct, to create my Magazine cover and Poster. I had
worked with Photoshop before, however I learnt more again
and used different techniques to create the effects I wanted.
I used IMovie to create my Horror movie Trailer. I had never
worked with IMovie before and at first I struggled quite a
lot but once I had got the hang of basics of editing I found it
a useful piece of technology to make my Horror Movie
Trailer on.
I used Microsoft Word, for the very simple parts of
construction to help with my products like creating my Horror
Movie audience feedback questionnaire; for example.

3. Research
I used Wikipedia as one of my sources of research. To find out
various things, whether it be about horror movies in general, or a
specific horror movie, I found Wikipedia very useful.
I used YouTube as one of my research devices also. I looked and
compared different trailers to my own, looked at horror films
before development also. And discovered personal opinions on
ghosts and supernatural occurrences.
We watched a Documentary on Channel 4 ‘How to make the
perfect scary Movie’, this was very beneficial to us all as it gave
us not only knowledge about turning points in the film industry,
but the reasons for them.
‘Google’ was used most of all to collect a lot of my research,
for all three, my poster, my magazine cover and for my
horror movie trailer.

4. Planning
I used ‘Facebook’ to interact with the actors I needed for
the trailer to see when and where we could meet to film.
Facebook was useful for planning as it was quick and easy
to get hold of people with.
Any way of being able to writing something done was helpful to what I
needed and wanted to plan for.

5. Evaluation
I used ‘WordPress’ to blog and then finally evaluate
all the work I had been doing, construction, research
and planning.
I used ‘PowerPoint’ as a technology to help get across
the points I wanted to show that were relevant to my
research and work, like this, part of my evaluation.
I used ScreenCast’O’Matic in my evaluation. This
recorded my voice at the same time as recording what
was being shown on the screen. I thought this was a
very useful as it allowed support of my voice to get
across my opinion of my work and what I wanted to
achieve.
I used ‘SlideShare’ this helped show my PowerPoint
results as a whole and in a better presentation
publically.
