After the taking over from maintenance
in 2014, DIA has ensured regular
cleaning and upkeep of the industrial area
All internal roads are maintained regularly
through a professional housekeeping agency.
Detailed scheduling and close monitoring is
carried out by DIA in the industrial area.

5. MAINTENANCE
WALKWAYS

Significant efforts have been put in to create
walkways at the Bank Circle and Factory
Circle.
Earlier road conditions were posing a risk to
the safety of the daily commuters. Now, a
much neeeded facelift has been provided to
these areas.
As a next step, specific internal roads like the
Sonarome-Jodhani road has now been taken
up for drain cover and landscaping

Together with the support from member
industries, new roads have been laid at
several places in the Industrial Area.
Road Asphalting and resurfacing are also
carried out in several places to address major
damages.
Pothole fillingis also undertaken on a regular
basis to avoid accidents and facilitate
commutation by daily users.

Regular meetings are held between DIA, the
Panchayat and other members of the elected
bodies to discuss topics like petty shops and
unauthorised constructions, improving the
access roads, etc
Member interaction with BESCOM, district
adminsitration, police and other authorities
are also organised regulary.
Active representation is ensured in Single
Window meetings and other forums to
discuss the concerns of the industry.

To facilitate knowledge sharing, the DIA HR
Forum organises periodically several
workshops and seminars for member
industries
They are conducted either by external experts
or government officers.
Lighter events like the DIA Cricket
Tournament and DIA Women’s Day
Celebrations bring together the employees of
different industries in a fun environment.

Annual blood donation camps in collaboration
with the Rastrothanna Blood Bank is
organised.
304 units in 2019 and 297 units in 2018 of
blood were collected with participation of
around 350 employees from industries
Free Eye and Health camps was also
organised in collaboration with Drishti Eye
Hospital and Columbia Asia Hospital which
benefitted around 150 employees.

Sapling plantation and cleanliness drive on
World Environment Day.
DIA has also organised awareness sessions
on water conservation and waste recycling by
expert speakers for benefit of its member
industries as well as the community.
On behalf of member industries, DIA also
represents the Lake Rejenuvation Multi Stake
holer Committee organised by the district
administration for the desilting of the lakes in
the industrial area

Sonarome Foundation provides nutrition
support to nearly 600 school chilcren in 8
neighbouring villages.
A full time doctor engaged by the Trust visits
the villages and provides free medical care &
medicines to the needy in these villages.
School fees is reimbursed and stationery is
distributed to needy families. English
education is also being facilitated.
Donations are done regulary to medical and
educational organisations.

fight for hunger in our city and country was a
