Descriptive Essay Christmas
One day that happened to be Christmas eve something awful happened, very appalling to say the
least. The big, old, jolly man himself we all know as Santa was sick. He, unfortunately, had the flu it
was brutal. Santa had just woke up in his gigantic red bed in his bright green room when he told
Ms.Claus he was feeling extremely warm and not very well. Mrs.Claus dashed to the blue–tiled
washroom just outside of the door to grab a thermometer. Swiftly she ran back in and Santa put it in
his mouth, the temperature was one–hundred and four farinhight. "OH dear" gasped Mrs.Claus,
"Call the nurse elves." Suddenly Mrs.Claus pulled down a big lever in their room it was huge and
green, there was a lever in each room in the workshop even in the miniature houses that the elves
lived in outside of the workshop. When you blue the lever a loud siren came on and trained elf
nurses came running in. The nurse elves are elves that were trained to be doctors while they were in
school, and since there wasn't always an emergency they also learned to make toys. The doctor elf
also came in she was short with hazelnut hair and, brown eyes she was the most energetic out of the
elves, her name was Holly Jingle. As the elves were running in they brought in an elf–sized tray
with minuscule tools that happened to be pretty big for elves. Holly Jingle took charge and grabbed
a candy cane thermometer which would be more accurate for Santa than the other one but still he
was at one–hundred farinhiegt.

The Sander's Home-Personal Narrative
It was a warm summer evening in California. The Sanders' were enjoying one of their last meals
together as a family before school started back up again. As the Sanders' chowed down on flavorful
pot roast, Todd shared very exciting news for the family. "Since we recently purchased a new private
jet, and summer is almost over, your mother and I have decided to take a family trip to Australia!"
exclaimed Todd. The Sander's were a rich family who lived in a rich neighborhood, and in a big
house. They were a big family, six kids in total, and two parents. "Woo hoo!" chanted Grayson after
he heard the news. Grayson was the second youngest child of the Sanders'. He is nine years old, and
small for his age. Grayson had dirty blonde hair that was always ... Show more content on

"Is everyone packed yet?" asked the mom, Marie a few hours later. Marie was a tall, blonde that was
always laughing and smiling. Being that she isn't as tough and strict as Todd, Marie was more of the
laid back and chilled kind of parent. "I'm ready to go!" Reese replied back seconds later. Reese was
Todd and Marie's third oldest child out of the pack. Reese was a strong and tall, sixteen year–old
with and short, spiky dirty brown hair. Unlike any other rich teenage boy, Reese greatly enjoyed
playing sports and being active. He is also known as "The Troublemaker" out of his family. Reese
zipped up his suitcase, and put it near the door in his disheveled room. He then began to pack his
backpack with his laptop, phone charger, camera, and other essentials. Marie began to walk down
the hallway upstairs to Claire's room. "Claire, are you packed yet?" asked the mom. "Not yet, ugh I
can't find my makeup bag!" whined Claire. Claire was fourteen years old. She had long, blonde hair
and was tall and skinny. She was very popular in her grade. "It's right here hun" Marie said holding
up the bright pink makeup bag. "Thanks mom" exclaimed Claire as she packed it in her

Summary Of A Short Story
Once upon a time in a village located in Germany, Leipzig, was in the middle of a forest called the
Fyteia Forest. When there were no storms, right after the beginning of time. There were two people
that everyone knew very well, Keravno and Vronti. Keravno was a very beautiful young woman
with blond hair and bright blue eyes. Vronti was very muscular, not much older than Keravno, had
brown hair and green eyes. They were in love and planned to marry each other one day. However
Cupid's twin brother Sore, wanted to separate them. He wants the world to be covered in hate,
because the more hate in the world there is the more powerful he becomes. He was jealous of his
brother because he got all the love and fame even though he is ugly and disgusting.
One day they decided to go on a date and have a picnic. They went to a secret grotto in the forest
just outside of the village. It was at night so they put fireflies in jars. They were eating very nice
food, then Vronti spilled some gravy on Keravno's dress. At first Vronti was laughed. However,
Keravno was not laughing. She was quite angry because she got struck by Sore's hate arrow. "You
daft fool, I will destroy you!" She shouted in angry rage. Vronti was shocked so he said. "What are
you saying?" "You heard me. I will destroy you." she said. "I only spilt gravy." "Yes and when I kill
you, your loved ones will say 'it was only Vronti" "No, they won't say that." "I've heard the rumors
about you." she said.
Vronti still confused started to argue with Keravno. "Are you foolish enough to start arguing about
spilled gravy?" "Yes because this is my mother's dress. I don't think she'll mind, she's dead!"
Keravno turned to cry. Vronti said in a regretful voice. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to..." Then he was
struck by one of Sore's arrows and said, "I meant it in every way." They went on and on and on.
When the village chief, Archigos heard all the commotion he knew exactly what must of happened.
So he concocted a mixture and threw it at them. They started to glow and in a beam they were shot
up in the air. Archigos sent them to the sky where Ilios was, Keravno's uncle. Ilios gave up his
mortal life for his village so they could have sun light. He was an

The Barbie Doll
The newest Barbie doll just came out and I am freaking out. I am in elementary school and still
obsessed with tiaras and shiny things. I want the new doll with straight blonde hair and a skinny
waist. The doll is beautiful. I play with my other dolls at home as I listen to my grandmother oogle
over my curly brown hair and chubby cheeks. "Look at that beautiful girl" she says as I make my
dolls go shopping. The other adults sitting around the table agree and make other comments.
"Pure beauty."
"Gorgeous."
"Completely stunning."
I listen to them admire me but continue to ignore them. I just want to play with my dolls.
I walk into my middle school for the first time. I am scared but I hold myself together with the
confidence that I will be liked by everyone. I always have, why would anything change? I manage
to make friends and they are very nice people. But I notice that we are a group of 3 and all the other
friend groups have 6 or more. I notice that they all have straight blonde hair and skinny waists. They
look just like my dolls at home. I try to start a conversation with one of the groups. They smirk at
me, indicating that I need to go back to my own table. Why don't they like me? I try to talk to the
doll look–alikes again. They continue to ignore me. Frustrated, I ask "Why don't you like me?" The
answer leaves a painful mark on my mind and affects my view of myself in this world.
"You're fat"
I stand there shocked, wondering if everyone,

Short Story : A Short Story Of A Short Story
Short Story
Today is Friday, October 30th and I'm biking home from school with Calum and Natalia, my best
friends. It is a warm and sunny day, well enough to wear my favorite shorts. I am about to turn onto
my street when I called out, "See you tomorrow and make sure you don't come unprepared. We need
to give Henry a piece of our minds."
"Don't worry, we know," Calum hollered out to me. "See you tomorrow, Chlo," they said in sync.
I reached my house and dropped my bruised, blue bike in the middle of my grassy green lawn. My
house is an average size, just enough room to fit all four of us in my family. I opened the door and,
unanticipatedly, as I began to say 'I'm home', I apprehend, "Chloeeeeee," my three year old sister,
Belle, hurried up to me and clings on to my leg, all dressed up in her favorite yellow dress.
"Hello princess Belle," I say with a smile and bring her up into a hug. "I need to get up upstairs and
work on my homework, but I promise I'll play with you later."
"Okay. Pinky promise?" she says in her adorable little voice while her blue eyes sparkle with hope.
"Pinky promise," I replied, not being able to let her down.
I ran upstairs to my plum colored room decorated with posters of my favorite bands and singers. It
represents the dork/ geek side of me while my presence shows the girly side of me. My messy bed
stood inches from me and I flopped down onto it. It had been a long, tiring day, but I couldn't bring
myself to stop thinking about Henry and how I can't wait to finally exterminate his bullying act.
Everyone knows that his dad hurts him and treats him terribly, but no one could bring themselves to
feel sorry because of all the crap he's done. Everybody is afraid to stand up to him, but my friends
and I are strong and could no longer deal with him. Plus, he bet us twenty bucks that we couldn't go
to the intimidating house on Sycamore Street and come out of it okay.
Sick–a–House, which is what everyone calls it, is an old, spooky doctor's house known to be
haunted by every patient that didn't make it out alive. It is one of the first houses made in my small
town, which is over 120 years old. The thing is, the house doesn't really scare me at all. I have no
big fear of anything

In the Year 2025
The wind blew with a vengeance that night. It entered every window frame and crevice of the old
farmhouse. The rickety, rotting boards, that held the sad excuse for a house together, seemed to sing
an unbearably heartrending song as they creaked, and the bone chilling wind crept into the house,
numbing our stiff bodies. All four of us were huddled together by the somewhat functioning
fireplace in the old abandoned farm house. We had been on the run for four days. Our parents,
friends and family were all most likely dead. We had witnessed many of our loved ones being
slaughtered; we had seen there blood smeared on our home walls, as the law enforcements carried
out their orders to eliminate half of America's population. It is the year 2025 and we were hiding
somewhere on the outskirts of St. Louis Missouri. America, the land of the free, America, my home
sweet home, America, One Nation indivisible under God, had become corrupted, poisoned and
deteriorating. No longer was it a free country, nor were we a free people. We were not free to live, or
even attempt to preserve our life. We were accidents. We were wasted pieces of space, who were
taking up too much space. I would however, gladly take my old life back despite its hardships, just
to see my family again. I would live through anything just to see there faces alive. But I know the
only time I'll see their faces will be in my nightmares, reliving the day the soldiers came and put a
bullet in my mother's heart, a bullet in

Without being able to think more 3 girls came in.All of them were beautiful. The first had golden

I took my time taking off my dusty, worn out jeans and "fuckers" t–shirt much to Mayflowers

Examples Of Physical Descriptions In The Kite Runner
In literature, physical descriptions are used to explain or represent stereotypes, personality traits the
character has or different themes in the book. In the Kite Runner, by Khaled Hosseini, Hosseini
describes all the characters physical descriptions in ways to symbolize how they connect with the
story and the real–life history behind the setting of the story.
The first example of this that I am going to mention is Hassan's minor Cleft Lip. In the beginning of
the story, when Amir is describing Hassan he says, "And the cleft lip, just left of midline, where the
Chinese doll maker's instrument may have slipped, or perhaps he had simply grown tired and
careless" (Hosseini 3). It started out as just one of his identifying features that he was born with, but
unlike most people who are born with a cleft lip, his family could not afford the cost of the medical
procedure to fix it. It wasn't until chapter 5 where Baba pays for Hassan to get his cleft lip fixed,
leaving a scar on the top of his lip. This shows how Hassan is connected to the story because later in
the story, after Hassan dies, Amir finds out Hassan was actually his half–brother and travels to
Kabul to get Hassan's son, Sohrab. On his way, he gets ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the story, Amir describes it as "a brown, sickle–shaped birthmark on the smooth skin just about
her left jawline" (Hosseini 140). Hosseini gave her this feature because when Amir sees her he will
be drawn to her because just like Hassan, his childhood friend, she was born with an imperfection.
Also, a sickle is on the Soviet Union's Flag, representing the country's peasants. The Soviet Union is
the country that attacked Afghanistan when the government fell. When Soraya and her family
moved to America, they moved from high class to the lowest class, accepting peasant lifestyle. This
shows that Hosseini gave Soraya the birthmark to represent the lifestyle her parents had chosen in

Project Three Photo Spread Analysis
28 June 2015
Subject: Dennis arrested for stealing.
Memorandum:
A young woman named Vicky was at the mall where she had her purse stolen from her by a white
male. The only description that Vicky can give to the police is that the assailant was a white male,
"approximately 25 to 35 years old, tall, perhaps close to six feet, somewhat stocky. She recalls him
as having dark blond hair and does not recollect facial hair." (UMUC, 2015) William, a 6'4" male,
witnesses the incident; he saw the man walk rapidly toward Vicky and grab her purse. He had a
good view of the assailant the entire time. He describes the assailant as, "a white male,
approximately 30 to 35 years ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By displaying similar looking people on the photo spread you could ensure that the witness is
choosing the correct one. "If the officer does not have a suspect, she may show witnesses a mug
book, beat book, or other compilation of photographs. These usually have so many photographs in
them that suggestiveness is rarely an issue." (Module 2, 2015) The photo spread should also display
6–8 photos when trying to identify just one suspect. Also when trying to display the photo spread,
"the people shown in the photos that are selected must be of the same race, age, general physical
characteristics, and sex as the suspect. Hair style, facial hair, and other facial features should be
similar. If the suspect has close–cropped hair, it would be improper to include fill–ins with bushy
hair. The background and tone of the photographs should also be similar to preclude any particular
photograph standing out. It is not necessary for the images in the spread to be clones, but the photos
should be similar enough in appearance to ensure a reliable identification." (Module 2, 2015) When
compiling or displaying a photo spread to a witness the officer should use the NIJ Guidelines as
their standard. The National Institute of Justice wrote Eyewitness Evidence: A Guide for Law
Enforcement. "This set of guidelines is an important tool for refining investigative practices dealing
with this evidence as we continue our search for truth." (National Institute of Justice, 1999)

Briar : A Short Story : The Story Of The Story
Most of the time when you hear the word "story" you automatically think of happy endings. Briar's
story is everything but happy. When Briar was a child she was kidnapped, her story isn't about her
abduction, it is about how it has shaped her environment. In this this story it targets her beliefs.
When she was 5, a man named Japedo took her and one other girl named Jessie. Briar and Jessie
became best friends. One day someone found the bunker and Briar was put back into life with her
mom, dad, and a little brother Maddox, that she never knew of. Since Briar was 17 when she was

classes. Briar attended a school with 18 other kids at Worthermont where she ran into new
challenges she had to face. Here is the story in her perspective as a captive. When I walked into the
cold room I looked at my schedule. I don't understand how the numbers work here. I was told one
side is odds and the other side is evens, I don't even know what those are. I walked up to a old man
with gray hair and wrinkly skin that reminds me of raisins, from what I have learned by Japedo that
means he was a good man who led a good life. The man looked up at me and squinted. "Do you

SPLASH! and GOOOO! Seemed to be the only noise I could hear, but I wasn't the one swimming.
Why was I there? It seemed like everyone I knew was swimming but I was here with a broken nose.
This was one of the saddest days ever and felt like nothing was worse than not swimming. I was just
hoping someone or something could cheer me up. It was a sunny day at Woodley Gardens pool and
it was my first year on swim meet. When I was 6 during the summer of 2010, I was at the pool for a

Reflection Paper On Endurance
Endurance If you ever watch a football or basketball game and want so badly for your team to win,
it usually strikes your competitive side when someone tells you they will not win, correct? I felt very
similar about two years ago. In May of my freshman year, I remember my name not called for my
chapter FFA officer position. As the only interviewee who received none of the officer positions, my
heart dropped. However, now, just a few months later, I cared very little. I felt confident in my
decision to run for district office and felt pleased with how my interview proceeded. Even sitting in
a musty old gym with terrible lighting, little space, and a speaker system that squeaked every time
someone made an announcement, I felt like I just won a marathon with only one leg. Considering
myself a pretty good FFA student due to the fact that I cared a lot about agriculture, won some
awards already, and even worked over 1,000 hours with my SAE project, becoming a chapter officer
seemed like something I could accomplish. At the conclusion of that night, I realized others opinions
clearly varied. However, I would not let that discourage me. I decided I wanted to try for district
office. Upon mentioning this to my advisor, Mr. Wilson, he simply stated, "Most people who try for
a district office position typically have a year of chapter office under their belt, but to apply you did
not have to." He also mentioned that he never really cared for the district office much but he would

A Short Story : A Story?
Today is Friday, October 30th and I'm biking home from school with Calum and Natalia, my best
friends. It was a warm and sunny day, well enough to wear my favorite shorts. I was about to turn on
to my street when I called out, "See ya tomorrow and make sure you don't come unprepared. We
need to give Henry a piece of our minds."
"Don't worry, we know," Calum hollered out to me. "See you tomorrow, Chlo," they said in sync.
I reached my house and dropped my bruised, blue bike in the middle of my grassy green lawn. My
house was an average size, just enough room to fit all four of us in my family. I opened the door
and, unanticipatedly, as I began to say 'I'm home', I apprehend, "Chloeeeeee," my three year old
sister, Belle, hurried up to me and clings on to my leg, all dressed up in her favorite yellow dress.
"Hello princess Belle," I say with a smile and bring her up into a hug. "I need to get up upstairs and
work on my homework, but I promise I'll play with you later."
"Okay. Pinky promise?" she says in her adorable little voice while her blue eyes sparkle with hope.
"Pinky promise," I replied not being able to let her down.
I ran upstairs to my plum colored room decorated with posters of my favorite bands and singers. It
represents the dork/ geek side of me while my presence show the girly side of me. My messy bed
stood inches from me and I flopped down onto it. It had been a long, tiring day but I couldn't bring
myself to stop thinking about Henry and how I can't

Descriptive Essay About My Sisters
I was five years old when I realized that my sister and I were very similar. There were physical
similarities that had my sister and I could be mistaken for twins, but we often acted very different. I
could not fathom at the time how my sister and I could in any way be similar, due to the differences
in our personalities. Sure, we looked alike, blond hair, and blue eyes like our dad. We were tall and
both active. We resembled each other, certainly, but to our eyes we couldn't be more different.
My sister enjoyed teasing me and being annoying, working me into a rage, while I enjoyed being
silent and reading. She enjoyed playing outside, while inside was where I felt I belonged. She was
part of the popular group, and I enjoyed the company of plebeians. These were some of the things
different between us that I remember of that time. But it wasn't some relative physical similarities
that convinced me that we were similar, it wasn't a family diner. It was a meeting at the airport when
we were waiting for our grandfather when a complete stranger walked up to us and told us "what
cute twins you are". It was a stranger's comment, "what cute twins you are" that made me look at
more than our similarities. The stranger's comments made the five year old Anna realize that there
was so much between us. It was not just the color of our hair which was blond, or our deep blue
eyes. It was not just that we were always tall for our age, and still are (my sister is 6 feet tall and I
am 5'9').
What convinced me that we were so very similar and that the stranger at the airport might be onto
something was some of the things we would say and do in our country home in Missouri. We would
speak double, each saying the same thing at the same moment. This happened many times, and often
we would finish each other's sentences. We knew each other's jokes and could finish the punchline
perfectly as well as one person could. We had the same sense of humor, laughing to ourselves at a
reference or a bit of wordplay doubly said between us amidst giggles to the same joke, or how we'd
use the same gestures to express ourselves when we spoke, or how we had the same taste in music.
It was telling our deepest, darkest secrets and our fears to each

My Best Friends : Andrea And Linda
Andrea and Linda are two of my best friends. They are the most phenomenal women I know, yet
they couldn't be more different from each other. Each of them is successful in their jobs, have nice
homes, and are both beautiful with fantastic styles, however that is where their similarities end.
Their priorities are different from each other as Andrea is all about her family, while Linda is
dedicated to her job. Their styles are so different that they don't regularly share any beauty tips or
borrow clothes from each other and their homes are both incredible, but located in different parts of
town and look nothing like each other inside or out. Both of these ladies are successful in everything
they do. They both have impressive jobs and have worked through many struggles to be in
management. Andrea is busy all day long. She basically has two jobs, being a mother and a Manager
of a Customer Services Department at a Hotel. Job number one is taking care of her three brilliant
children that are ages three, six, and eight. She has them ready for school each morning, serves them
breakfast and packs their lunches before dropping them off at either school or daycare. Then she is
off to her paying job where she works a full shift at the hotel before coming back home to make
dinner and clean the house. On the contrary, Linda is single with no kids and has no one else she
needs to depend on or that is depending on her. At her favorite coffee shop is where she has

Personal Narrative: My Year At Cascade Middle School
I learned some important things in my sixth grade year at Cascade Middle School. I never would've
even thought that so many girls, ones I knew in elementary school and ones I met that year, would
drastically shape, and scar, my life. A lesson that I learned then has been guiding my life ever since
then. I've learned that helping others become strong makes me stronger. I feel that it could affect
many people.
The beginning of the story starts in my first weeks of middle school. I had six friends, one of which
is my twin sister. At lunch, I would sit with them at lunch, and we would talk happily. The six girls
were tall, varieties of hair lengths. All of them had brown hair, except for one who had thick, blond
hair. All of them seemed overpowering. One of them actually liked to hint at how she was the leader
of the group.
One of the girls had a "habit" of glaring at me, mainly during lunch, but also everyday in the one
class we had together. The glare told me "Don't come near me unworthy idiot." One thing she would
growl at me was "Ugh, stop being so happy I'm having a crazy week." Then, of course, she would
keep glaring holes into me.
One of the girls was also a vegetarian, and oddly enough, she didn't have a problem with any of the
others eating meat, except for my sister, I had noticed. My sister happened to ... Show more content

willingly. But after leaving for the summer, everything slowly was fixed. And, thankfully, I never
saw them, again, as they stayed at Cascade Middle School. But I did learn how to be more
empathetic and be stronger. Be more confident than I ever could be if I never experienced what it

Similarities Between Parvana And I
Parvana and I are similar in many ways. Parvana and I are alike because we both have a little sister

Parvana and I could be very good friends if we knew each other. Parvana and I are also alike
because we are the same age. Parvana and I are both eleven years old. One last reason that Parvana

Now Parvana's dad teaches her to read at home. Parvana's dad knows how to read because he used

Stereotypes Of Dumb Blonde
What does a blonde do when her laptop computer freezes? She sticks it in the microwave. We have
all heard the dumb blonde jokes that are now the vast majority of jokes told. Media has branded the
blonde as what the world knows to be the archetype of the "dumb" girl. Today a member of society
is judged on his/her looks, personality, and money. However, no matter how smart, poor, or
passionate one is, as a blonde, one is automatically stereotyped. The stereotype points to a human
being that is dumb, pretty, rich, and stuck–up. This paper will discuss how the stereotype is used, to
received, and branded.
Media may have branded the blonde stereotype, but recently media has been debunking it over the
years. From the "legally blond" movies and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The dumb blonde is a popular–culture stereotype often applied to women with blonde hair. Now the
blonde has been branded by the "dumb blonde" impression. In the article "No Logo" by Naomi
Klein it is stated that "the brand is not a reflection of quality but a reflection of what the marketing
department wants it to stand for" (Klein, 3). For example the everyday blonde symbols a dingy and
arrogant but attractive and popular woman. This is an identity that people have adapted in to their
lifestyles. A few years ago society seen the brainless blonde everywhere partly due to the marketing
corporation because it a part of advertisement that fits a particular style of people.
From the movie "Legally Blonde" to the hit television show "The vampire Dairies" the dumb blonde
stereotype is beginning to change. Blondes are not really that dumb. For instance "Legally Blonde"
shows a woman going through law school and winning her case. Media may have created the dumb
blonde stereotype but with the new movies it is starting to debunk the whole idea now. Media has
shaped society into making us believe certain stereotypes. Stereotypes that are not

Chapter 1 : A Short Story
A young man with slick brown hair and an annoyed expression stood in the natural lighted kitchen.
The walls were painted with a calm beige, and a steel black oven sat in front of him. He spoke in an
annoyed tone. "Hey Jake do you mind telling me why you got this oven from Portugal?! I can't read
the instructions you dimwit!"
A blonde headed clumsy teenager, that went by the name of Jake, turned. "They said it was a good
oven. It's top of the line."
The young man facepalmed, "You're so gullible." He paused for a moment, and then threw the
instructions manual at Jake, "Why don't you figure out the instructions manual!"
Jake clumsily caught the instructions manual, "It's probably just one of these switches."

his eyes, as he started the engine, pulling out of the driveway. Jake leaned forward in the seat and

the street of the neighborhood. Brock was an expert driver, he easily passed cars and weaved into

group of people he wished he hadn't. These people were participants in his dreadful childhood, most
people called the ones who gave birth to him family. But, for Brock that was a different story, he

My Birthday Story
Today is my birthday. I walk along the streets with Hunter and Anthony. Both of them are coming to
celebrate my 13th birthday, while both of them are already 13. "Hey, Lynn. Do you think I can
become a soldier one day?" Anthony asks cheerfully, and his brown hair flips itself in the wind. I
give him a nice, shy smile. "You two could become anything in this world." I happily reply, and
continue walking. We live in Des Mo, Iowa. It used to be called Des Moines, but something
happened to the government and they renamed it Des Mo. I run up my porch steps, and hop inside
my home. Mom is baking cookies, and she already has spaghetti ready on the table. My presents
from Hunter and Anthony shine on the table. Anthony's present jumps up, giving me a hint that
something inside of it is alive. "Come in, Mister Hunter and Mister Anthony!" my mom smiles, and
sets down the tray of cookies. Anthony pulls out my chair and I give him a brief smile. Hunter sits
down next to me. We eat, and chat continually. Hunter sits back and eats a little loaf of bread, and I
hand him a cookie. He pushes it away. Then we open presents. I get a new jacket from Mom, and a
note alongside it saying To My Favorite Child!~. Anthony gets me a dog, and we name her Loa. Her
yellow fur shakes happily when she jumps out of the box. I smile, and pat her head. Hunter hands
me a box carefully wrapped in red– my favorite color. I look at him, and he's pretending to look off
into the distance. I open it enough to see a bronze light, and I look over at him again, and he's
looking at me now. He combs his blond hair back with his hand. Anthony shifts uncomfortably. I
open up the whole box– the gift Hunter got me was a bronze star pendant, with my name –Evelynn–
engraved into the center. I give Anthony and Hunter hugs, and I put on the new pendant. Wearing
this, I feel different, in a way I can't explain. We end up watching an extremely old movie my
mother found– Swordmaster. It's about two opposite sides clashing together to earn the others' land.
Hunter falls asleep while we watch, and Anthony is huddled up against Loa. I lean backwards into
the couch, and try not to fall asleep like Hunter. A few hours later, when the movie ends, Hunter and

A Short Story : A Story?
It was a sunny day meaning only the main street lights had to be on during the day. Sarah Gamble
was outside drawing messages in the mud when her mom called her inside. "Wipe your feet and
help me clean up for our guests. They'll be here in about fifteen minutes." Sarah had heard about her
cousin Travis, but had only imagined the details of his personality. She dreamed of a strawberry
blonde with cute freckles and a goofy smile. A boy with an imaginative brain and an adventurous
spirit just like her.
At exactly four o'clock, the doorbell rang. Sarah smoothed her hair one last time and waited for the
guests to scan in and identify themselves as family before being able to enter. "Diana, how are you?
Travis, you've gotten so big." The boy standing in the doorway was a disappointment. He had
straight brown hair with a boring face and a smell of stale Cheerios. Sarah was star struck, not
knowing what to say. "Why don't you show Travis around the area, Sarah. After all, he's never been
to the coast." Sarah's mom gently pushed her out the door leaving Sarah, blonde and bright, next to
her cousin Travis, brown haired and boring. The two ten year olds stood there a few moments before
Sarah asked "want to have an adventure?" Wishing with all her might, she looked questioningly into
her cousin's eyes. Travis shrugged and started to pick his nose. "Maybe we could find something
cool in the shore. Mom tells me never to go too far, but adventure is all about taking risks, right?"

Examples Of Physical Description In The Kite Runner
It wasn't until chapter 5 where Baba pays for Hassan to get his cleft lip fixed,
leaving a scar on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It comes up in both the beginning, when he's introduced, and at the end when that's the only way
Amir recognized him. In the book Amir describes Assef, saying, "Born to a German mother and
Afghan father, the blond, blue–eyed Assef towered over the other kids" (Hosseini 38). This explains
that Assef was designed to stand out because, unlike all the other kids who have dark brown hair and
brown eyes, Assef has the complete opposite, blond hair, and blue eyes. Later at the end of the story,
Amir runs into Assef again. If it wasn't for his eye color Amir would not have recognized him,
"Then he took off his sunglasses and locked his bloodshot blue eyes on mine...His name escaped my
lips: 'Assef" (Hosseini 281). This confirms that Hosseini knew that in Afghanistan, it's very rare to
see someone with Assefs features. So, he gave them to Assef to show how he is different from the
rest of the characters because he is the

Personal Narrative: Sean's First Day Of High School
Today was Sean's first day of highschool. He didn't feel particularly nervous, just annoyed because
well, who actually enjoys school? It's just a building full of adults who think they're more superior

Observation Of General Education
Recently, I had the opportunity to observe several general education classes taught by a single
teacher that each contained one or more students who have special needs. Within these classes, I was
able to discern how both they and the teacher dealt with their disabilities as well as how they
functioned within the atmosphere of general education. In the following paragraphs, I will discuss
my observations on three remarkable students and their teacher including their physical, mental and
social development.
General Information
As mentioned above, all of my observations were in several general education classrooms taught by
a single teacher, which henceforth, in order to protect the confidentiality of the students within the
classroom, I will refer to as Mr. Bubbles. All of the classrooms I observed were general math classes
and were full of students ranging from freshman to junior in age groups. Within these classes, I
observed a wide range of accommodations for three main students, whom I will refer to as Joey,
Jeremy, and Tom, including one–on–one sessions, shortened assignments and tests, and allotted
break areas. Due to the parameters of the permission I received to observe in the classroom, I was
not able to secure any information on their family interactions, or any other personal dynamics (I
was not able to ask personal questions about the students), thus all of my information will be limited
to my conversations as well as what happened solely within Mr. Bubbles'

driver of the vehicle. Additionally, Eydoel stated that he knew the vehicle was stolen.
Also Post Miranda, Sam stated that he knew the vehicle was stolen and that Carlo was the driver of
the vehicle. Furthermore, when questioned about the pistol that was found in the seat Sam was
sitting in. Sam stated that when the police got behind the vehicle Carlo handed him the pistol and

Susan stated that they noticed someone had attempted to break open a double panel window,
however, only the first window was broken and no signs of access to the residence were made at that
point. However, also on the back side of the residence they located another window which had been
broken. Upon entering through that window, access could have been made to the residence. Wayne
also stated that damage was found on the window style air conditioning unit on the side of the
residence. Suggesting that someone had attempt to removed the unit and gain access to the residence

Persuasive Speech On Adopting Animals
A dog isn't just simply a dog. A dog is a best friend, a companion, a detective, a guide, a gift, and
much more. So why would people mistreat their dogs? People still don't know the answer to this
question. Commercials have been trying to shine some light on the public about the issue at hand.
The issue includes people adopting animals and not being able to care for them. If we take it one
step forward, we are also worried about people abusing an animal. A couple commercials in my
mind have done an outstanding job in spreading the message of knowing if you are responsible
enough to adopt an animal. A commercial that caught my eye is called "Gift". "Gift" starts off with a
man driving a very nice car up to a house. The man seems to be well dressed. The music in the
background is very happy and you can tell the man is happy as well. I can infer that it is cold outside
by the way the people are dressed and how there are no leaves on the trees and it is gloomy. He then
gets out of the car and picks up a little girl. The little girl has red hair and is carrying a stuffed toy
dog. The man hugs the little girl and puts her in the car with him. The man shares some food with
the little girl, which suggests that they like each other and get along.
In the next scene, there is a woman with a different little girl that is blonde. The two are drawing and
enjoying themselves. I can infer that the older lady is the mother of the younger one due to the older
lady giving the younger one a

Personal Narrative-'The Land Of Mu'
The year, 3281... Two hundred and eighty one years ago the land Lemuria randomly appeared– we
call it "The Land of Mu"... Once exploration found its way onto that continent nearly twenty years
later, they found that it was completely empty, we attempted to colonize on it. The rush was so
sudden and the continent to big... Non–reversible damage was dealt. The sea level rises in an instant
causing multiple tsunamis, other than the fact that there's no Hawaii on the map anymore Japan and
the west coast of California got it the worse... 3224– the world was at war, everyone needed the
continent. It was nuclear fallout, four fifths of all humanity in an instant was gone. Shortly after the
28 bombs were dropped– killing four fifths of humanity– only ... Show more content on

The boy was crying. Garth with haste sprints and hops over the rubble of a small village to the boy,
reaching out his hand he yells "What happened here– are you all alone?" The boy turns slowly turns
around, curiosity hits Garth hard. Garth looking over the boy's head sees a familiar face, Thelma. He
does not move, for the young man is frozen in fear and shock. How could this be possible? Once the
girl collapses Garth falls to his knees with one hand over his eyes. The other of the two adventurers
runs to Garth, finally getting hit by reality, the forest is the one they entered not to long ago. The
image slowly like a ripple in a still pond vanishes and they are back in a room with a wall behind
them. "There's no way... Look, we entered one of the rooms!" Garth, still shaken listens to Irreel and
walks out looking both ways. Irreel was spot on. Irreel runs out to witness what Garth is seeing, the
hallway they thought they finished treading through. "What was that back there? Garth, that looked
like a younger version of you." Garth without looking back "It was me, that happened, that's the
reason I detoured to the temple by passing a pond from the back. In other words we went the long
way. I did not wish to see that site again once more." The two are

Baby Sis-Personal Narrative
Entering the cafeteria, I was thoroughly surprised at how familiar everything seemed. Bustling
students flooded the tables, swarming each other in hopes of sharing tales of summer fun. I,
however, most likely stuck out like a sore thumb. When everyone has been friends since childhood,
I was just returning from three years overseas. A heavy weight suddenly draped across my
shoulders, and I look up to see Clark hovering over me with a goofy grin. Being my twin brother,
Clark was always been my closest ally, even more so after everything happened. "Clarkson, you're
pretending to be a guard dog again." I teased, watching as his grin widened impossibly. "What do
you expect, Baby Sis." He ruffled my hair, causing a smile to tug at my lips. His azure ... Show more

I turn to look at him, surprised to find him so close to my face. I was even more surprised when his
soft lips met mine, claiming my breath in a single second. Normally, I would push a man away for
suddenly kissing me, but I found myself wrapping my arms away around his neck. His lips sent fire
through my veins, igniting my very heart with flames, and I felt the heat rising. When we finally
broke apart, I gave him a small smile, before gathering my bag, and stepping out. I gave one last
glance at him, before shutting the door, and watched him drive off. Even with him gone, the flames
still spread through me, and I realized that when he claimed my lips, he claimed my soul at the same

Narrative Essay On School Day In School
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! Lexie looked at the clock, alarmed at what she saw. It was 6:30 and she has
overslept her alarms. She jumped out of bed, throwing all her blankets on the ground and ran into
the ice cold, frigid shower giving it no time to warm up. Even though she was hurrying, she was not
looking forward to another school day. When she got out she brushed her dark brown hair, which
took a half an hour to dry because of its long length. She then got dressed first putting on her dark
blue, holy, Hollister Jeans that barely made it to the ankles of her long legs. Next, she put on her
favorite black scarf that felt like cotton along with a white sweater underneath. "Lexie!" her mom
screamed, "Get down here or you're going to miss the bus!" Lexie grabbed her backpack and ran
down the steps and out the door, knocking down everything in her way. She sprinted to her bus stop
and jumped in as the doors were halfway closed. She sat in seat 15 like she always did with her best
friend, Isabelle. She had long red hair, brighter than an apple that seemed to glow in the bright lights
in the morning sunrise. She also had long legs that came up unusually high when sitting in the small
bus seats. Her bright blue eyes shined like the ocean even in the foggy morning. They rode to
school, talking quietly and laughing nonstop. When they got to school, they parted ways and said
their goodbyes as they started another normal, boring school day. As the day went on, she finally got
to the class

Descriptive Essay Christmas

  • 1. Descriptive Essay Christmas One day that happened to be Christmas eve something awful happened, very appalling to say the least. The big, old, jolly man himself we all know as Santa was sick. He, unfortunately, had the flu it was brutal. Santa had just woke up in his gigantic red bed in his bright green room when he told Ms.Claus he was feeling extremely warm and not very well. Mrs.Claus dashed to the blue–tiled washroom just outside of the door to grab a thermometer. Swiftly she ran back in and Santa put it in his mouth, the temperature was one–hundred and four farinhight. "OH dear" gasped Mrs.Claus, "Call the nurse elves." Suddenly Mrs.Claus pulled down a big lever in their room it was huge and green, there was a lever in each room in the workshop even in the miniature houses that the elves lived in outside of the workshop. When you blue the lever a loud siren came on and trained elf nurses came running in. The nurse elves are elves that were trained to be doctors while they were in school, and since there wasn't always an emergency they also learned to make toys. The doctor elf also came in she was short with hazelnut hair and, brown eyes she was the most energetic out of the elves, her name was Holly Jingle. As the elves were running in they brought in an elf–sized tray with minuscule tools that happened to be pretty big for elves. Holly Jingle took charge and grabbed a candy cane thermometer which would be more accurate for Santa than the other one but still he was at one–hundred farinhiegt. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As the Sanders' chowed down on flavorful pot roast, Todd shared very exciting news for the family. "Since we recently purchased a new private jet, and summer is almost over, your mother and I have decided to take a family trip to Australia!" exclaimed Todd. The Sander's were a rich family who lived in a rich neighborhood, and in a big house. They were a big family, six kids in total, and two parents. "Woo hoo!" chanted Grayson after he heard the news. "Is everyone packed yet?" asked the mom, Marie a few hours later. Marie was a tall, blonde that was always laughing and smiling. Being that she isn't as tough and strict as Todd, Marie was more of the laid back and chilled kind of parent. "I'm ready to go!" Reese replied back seconds later. Reese was Todd and Marie's third oldest child out of the pack. Reese was a strong and tall, sixteen year–old with and short, spiky dirty brown hair. Unlike any other rich teenage boy, Reese greatly enjoyed playing sports and being active. He is also known as "The Troublemaker" out of his family. Reese zipped up his suitcase, and put it near the door in his disheveled room. He then began to pack his backpack with his laptop, phone charger, camera, and other essentials. Marie began to walk down the hallway upstairs to Claire's room. "Claire, are you packed yet?" asked the mom. "Not yet, ugh I can't find my makeup bag!" whined Claire. Claire was fourteen years old. She had long, blonde hair and was tall and skinny. She was very popular in her grade. "It's right here hun" Marie said holding up the bright pink makeup bag. • 3. Summary Of A Short Story Once upon a time in a village located in Germany, Leipzig, was in the middle of a forest called the Fyteia Forest. When there were no storms, right after the beginning of time. There were two people that everyone knew very well, Keravno and Vronti. Keravno was a very beautiful young woman with blond hair and bright blue eyes. Vronti was very muscular, not much older than Keravno, had brown hair and green eyes. They were in love and planned to marry each other one day. However Cupid's twin brother Sore, wanted to separate them. He wants the world to be covered in hate, because the more hate in the world there is the more powerful he becomes. He was jealous of his brother because he got all the love and fame even though he is ugly and disgusting. One day they decided to go on a date and have a picnic. They went to a secret grotto in the forest just outside of the village. It was at night so they put fireflies in jars. They were eating very nice food, then Vronti spilled some gravy on Keravno's dress. At first Vronti was laughed. However, Keravno was not laughing. She was quite angry because she got struck by Sore's hate arrow. "You daft fool, I will destroy you!" She shouted in angry rage. Vronti was shocked so he said. "What are you saying?" "You heard me. I will destroy you." she said. "I only spilt gravy." "Yes and when I kill you, your loved ones will say 'it was only Vronti" "No, they won't say that." "I've heard the rumors about you." she said. Vronti still confused started to argue with Keravno. "Are you foolish enough to start arguing about spilled gravy?" "Yes because this is my mother's dress. I don't think she'll mind, she's dead!" Keravno turned to cry. Vronti said in a regretful voice. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to..." Then he was struck by one of Sore's arrows and said, "I meant it in every way." They went on and on and on. When the village chief, Archigos heard all the commotion he knew exactly what must of happened. So he concocted a mixture and threw it at them. They started to glow and in a beam they were shot up in the air. Archigos sent them to the sky where Ilios was, Keravno's uncle. • 4. The Barbie Doll The newest Barbie doll just came out and I am freaking out. I am in elementary school and still obsessed with tiaras and shiny things. I want the new doll with straight blonde hair and a skinny waist. The doll is beautiful. I play with my other dolls at home as I listen to my grandmother oogle over my curly brown hair and chubby cheeks. "Look at that beautiful girl" she says as I make my dolls go shopping. The other adults sitting around the table agree and make other comments. "Pure beauty." "Gorgeous." "Completely stunning." I listen to them admire me but continue to ignore them. I just want to play with my dolls. I walk into my middle school for the first time. I am scared but I hold myself together with the confidence that I will be liked by everyone. I always have, why would anything change? I manage to make friends and they are very nice people. But I notice that we are a group of 3 and all the other friend groups have 6 or more. I notice that they all have straight blonde hair and skinny waists. They look just like my dolls at home. I try to start a conversation with one of the groups. They smirk at me, indicating that I need to go back to my own table. Why don't they like me? I try to talk to the doll look–alikes again. They continue to ignore me. Frustrated, I ask "Why don't you like me?" The answer leaves a painful mark on my mind and affects my view of myself in this world. "You're fat" I stand there shocked, wondering if everyone, ... • 5. Short Story : A Short Story Of A Short Story Short Story Today is Friday, October 30th and I'm biking home from school with Calum and Natalia, my best friends. It is a warm and sunny day, well enough to wear my favorite shorts. I am about to turn onto my street when I called out, "See you tomorrow and make sure you don't come unprepared. We need to give Henry a piece of our minds." "Don't worry, we know," Calum hollered out to me. "See you tomorrow, Chlo," they said in sync. I reached my house and dropped my bruised, blue bike in the middle of my grassy green lawn. My house is an average size, just enough room to fit all four of us in my family. I opened the door and, unanticipatedly, as I began to say 'I'm home', I apprehend, "Chloeeeeee," my three year old sister, Belle, hurried up to me and clings on to my leg, all dressed up in her favorite yellow dress. "Hello princess Belle," I say with a smile and bring her up into a hug. "I need to get up upstairs and work on my homework, but I promise I'll play with you later." "Okay. Pinky promise?" she says in her adorable little voice while her blue eyes sparkle with hope. "Pinky promise," I replied, not being able to let her down. I ran upstairs to my plum colored room decorated with posters of my favorite bands and singers. It represents the dork/ geek side of me while my presence shows the girly side of me. My messy bed stood inches from me and I flopped down onto it. It had been a long, tiring day, but I couldn't bring myself to stop thinking about Henry and how I can't wait to finally exterminate his bullying act. Everyone knows that his dad hurts him and treats him terribly, but no one could bring themselves to feel sorry because of all the crap he's done. Everybody is afraid to stand up to him, but my friends and I are strong and could no longer deal with him. Plus, he bet us twenty bucks that we couldn't go to the intimidating house on Sycamore Street and come out of it okay. Sick–a–House, which is what everyone calls it, is an old, spooky doctor's house known to be haunted by every patient that didn't make it out alive. It is one of the first houses made in my small town, which is over 120 years old. The thing is, the house doesn't really scare me at all. I have no big fear of anything

  • 7. In the Year 2025 The wind blew with a vengeance that night. It entered every window frame and crevice of the old farmhouse. The rickety, rotting boards, that held the sad excuse for a house together, seemed to sing an unbearably heartrending song as they creaked, and the bone chilling wind crept into the house, numbing our stiff bodies. All four of us were huddled together by the somewhat functioning fireplace in the old abandoned farm house. We had been on the run for four days. Our parents, friends and family were all most likely dead. We had witnessed many of our loved ones being slaughtered; we had seen there blood smeared on our home walls, as the law enforcements carried out their orders to eliminate half of America's population. It is the year 2025 and we were hiding somewhere on the outskirts of St. Louis Missouri. America, the land of the free, America, my home sweet home, America, One Nation indivisible under God, had become corrupted, poisoned and deteriorating. No longer was it a free country, nor were we a free people. We were not free to live, or even attempt to preserve our life. We were accidents. We were wasted pieces of space, who were taking up too much space. I would however, gladly take my old life back despite its hardships, just to see my family again. I would live through anything just to see there faces alive. But I know the only time I'll see their faces will be in my nightmares, reliving the day the soldiers came and put a bullet in my mother's heart, a bullet in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Examples Of Physical Descriptions In The Kite Runner In literature, physical descriptions are used to explain or represent stereotypes, personality traits the character has or different themes in the book. In the Kite Runner, by Khaled Hosseini, Hosseini describes all the characters physical descriptions in ways to symbolize how they connect with the story and the real–life history behind the setting of the story. The first example of this that I am going to mention is Hassan's minor Cleft Lip. In the beginning of the story, when Amir is describing Hassan he says, "And the cleft lip, just left of midline, where the Chinese doll maker's instrument may have slipped, or perhaps he had simply grown tired and careless" (Hosseini 3). It started out as just one of his identifying features that he was born with, but unlike most people who are born with a cleft lip, his family could not afford the cost of the medical procedure to fix it. It wasn't until chapter 5 where Baba pays for Hassan to get his cleft lip fixed, leaving a scar on the top of his lip. This shows how Hassan is connected to the story because later in the story, after Hassan dies, Amir finds out Hassan was actually his half–brother and travels to Kabul to get Hassan's son, Sohrab. On his way, he gets ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the story, Amir describes it as "a brown, sickle–shaped birthmark on the smooth skin just about her left jawline" (Hosseini 140). Also, a sickle is on the Soviet Union's Flag, representing the country's peasants. The Soviet Union is the country that attacked Afghanistan when the government fell. As the only interviewee who received none of the officer positions, my heart dropped. However, now, just a few months later, I cared very little. Even sitting in a musty old gym with terrible lighting, little space, and a speaker system that squeaked every time someone made an announcement, I felt like I just won a marathon with only one leg. Considering myself a pretty good FFA student due to the fact that I cared a lot about agriculture, won some awards already, and even worked over 1,000 hours with my SAE project, becoming a chapter officer seemed like something I could accomplish. At the conclusion of that night, I realized others opinions clearly varied. However, I would not let that discourage me. I decided I wanted to try for district office. • 21. Descriptive Essay About My Sisters I was five years old when I realized that my sister and I were very similar. There were physical similarities that had my sister and I could be mistaken for twins, but we often acted very different. I could not fathom at the time how my sister and I could in any way be similar, due to the differences in our personalities. Sure, we looked alike, blond hair, and blue eyes like our dad. We were tall and both active. We resembled each other, certainly, but to our eyes we couldn't be more different. My sister enjoyed teasing me and being annoying, working me into a rage, while I enjoyed being silent and reading. She enjoyed playing outside, while inside was where I felt I belonged. She was part of the popular group, and I enjoyed the company of plebeians. These were some of the things different between us that I remember of that time. But it wasn't some relative physical similarities that convinced me that we were similar, it wasn't a family diner. It was a meeting at the airport when we were waiting for our grandfather when a complete stranger walked up to us and told us "what cute twins you are". It was a stranger's comment, "what cute twins you are" that made me look at more than our similarities. The stranger's comments made the five year old Anna realize that there was so much between us. It was not just the color of our hair which was blond, or our deep blue eyes. It was not just that we were always tall for our age, and still are (my sister is 6 feet tall and I am 5'9'). What convinced me that we were so very similar and that the stranger at the airport might be onto something was some of the things we would say and do in our country home in Missouri. We would speak double, each saying the same thing at the same moment. This happened many times, and often we would finish each other's sentences. We knew each other's jokes and could finish the punchline perfectly as well as one person could. We had the same sense of humor, laughing to ourselves at a reference or a bit of wordplay doubly said between us amidst giggles to the same joke, or how we'd use the same gestures to express ourselves when we spoke, or how we had the same taste in music. The beginning of the story starts in my first weeks of middle school. I had six friends, one of which is my twin sister. At lunch, I would sit with them at lunch, and we would talk happily. The six girls were tall, varieties of hair lengths. All of them had brown hair, except for one who had thick, blond hair. All of them seemed overpowering. One of them actually liked to hint at how she was the leader of the group. One of the girls had a "habit" of glaring at me, mainly during lunch, but also everyday in the one class we had together. The glare told me "Don't come near me unworthy idiot." One thing she would growl at me was "Ugh, stop being so happy I'm having a crazy week." Then, of course, she would keep glaring holes into me. The walls were painted with a calm beige, and a steel black oven sat in front of him. He spoke in an annoyed tone. "Hey Jake do you mind telling me why you got this oven from Portugal?! I can't read the instructions you dimwit!" A blonde headed clumsy teenager, that went by the name of Jake, turned. "They said it was a good oven. It's top of the line." The young man facepalmed, "You're so gullible." He paused for a moment, and then threw the instructions manual at Jake, "Why don't you figure out the instructions manual!" Jake clumsily caught the instructions manual, "It's probably just one of these switches." He walked over to the steel ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Jake muttered, "Don't call me Jakey!" He swatted at Gary's hand. Brock rolled his eyes, as he started the engine, pulling out of the driveway. Jake leaned forward in the seat and fixed his hair. He was always careful about his thick, curly, blonde hair. The car sped through the streets of the neighborhood. Beautiful light colored brick house and perfectly manicured lawns lined the street of the neighborhood. Brock was an expert driver, he easily passed cars and weaved into lanes. In no time at all they were at the quaint grocery store. Brock pulled in and parked. He was the first to get out of the car, as he used his large hand to slam the door shut behind him. The two boys exited the car as well, the three of them begin their way to the store. As they walked in Brock saw a group of people he wished he hadn't. These people were participants in his dreadful childhood, most people called the ones who gave birth to him family. But, for Brock that was a different story, he disowned them as soon as he became old enough for people to consider him an adult. His only safe haven was his house. His house was his everything, ... • 27. My Birthday Story Today is my birthday. I walk along the streets with Hunter and Anthony. Both of them are coming to celebrate my 13th birthday, while both of them are already 13. "Hey, Lynn. Do you think I can become a soldier one day?" Anthony asks cheerfully, and his brown hair flips itself in the wind. I give him a nice, shy smile. "You two could become anything in this world." I happily reply, and continue walking. We live in Des Mo, Iowa. It used to be called Des Moines, but something happened to the government and they renamed it Des Mo. I run up my porch steps, and hop inside my home. Mom is baking cookies, and she already has spaghetti ready on the table. My presents from Hunter and Anthony shine on the table. Anthony's present jumps up, giving me a hint that something inside of it is alive. "Come in, Mister Hunter and Mister Anthony!" my mom smiles, and sets down the tray of cookies. Anthony pulls out my chair and I give him a brief smile. Hunter sits down next to me. We eat, and chat continually. Hunter sits back and eats a little loaf of bread, and I hand him a cookie. He pushes it away. Then we open presents. I get a new jacket from Mom, and a note alongside it saying To My Favorite Child!~. Anthony gets me a dog, and we name her Loa. Her yellow fur shakes happily when she jumps out of the box. I smile, and pat her head. Hunter hands me a box carefully wrapped in red– my favorite color. I look at him, and he's pretending to look off into the distance. I open it enough to see a bronze light, and I look over at him again, and he's looking at me now. He combs his blond hair back with his hand. Anthony shifts uncomfortably. I open up the whole box– the gift Hunter got me was a bronze star pendant, with my name –Evelynn– engraved into the center. I give Anthony and Hunter hugs, and I put on the new pendant. Wearing this, I feel different, in a way I can't explain. We end up watching an extremely old movie my mother found– Swordmaster. It's about two opposite sides clashing together to earn the others' land. Hunter falls asleep while we watch, and Anthony is huddled up against Loa. I lean backwards into the couch, and try not to fall asleep like Hunter. A few hours later, when the movie ends, Hunter and Anthony wave ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 28. A Short Story : A Story? It was a sunny day meaning only the main street lights had to be on during the day. Sarah Gamble was outside drawing messages in the mud when her mom called her inside. "Wipe your feet and help me clean up for our guests. They'll be here in about fifteen minutes." Sarah had heard about her cousin Travis, but had only imagined the details of his personality. She dreamed of a strawberry blonde with cute freckles and a goofy smile. A boy with an imaginative brain and an adventurous spirit just like her. At exactly four o'clock, the doorbell rang. Sarah smoothed her hair one last time and waited for the guests to scan in and identify themselves as family before being able to enter. "Diana, how are you? Travis, you've gotten so big." The boy standing in the doorway was a disappointment. He had straight brown hair with a boring face and a smell of stale Cheerios. Sarah was star struck, not knowing what to say. "Why don't you show Travis around the area, Sarah. After all, he's never been to the coast." Sarah's mom gently pushed her out the door leaving Sarah, blonde and bright, next to her cousin Travis, brown haired and boring. The two ten year olds stood there a few moments before Sarah asked "want to have an adventure?" Wishing with all her might, she looked questioningly into her cousin's eyes. Travis shrugged and started to pick his nose. "Maybe we could find something cool in the shore. Mom tells me never to go too far, but adventure is all about taking risks, right?" ... • 29. Examples Of Physical Description In The Kite Runner In literature, physical descriptions are used to explain or represent stereotypes, personality traits the character has or different themes in the book. It wasn't until chapter 5 where Baba pays for Hassan to get his cleft lip fixed, leaving a scar on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It comes up in both the beginning, when he's introduced, and at the end when that's the only way Amir recognized him. In the book Amir describes Assef, saying, "Born to a German mother and Afghan father, the blond, blue–eyed Assef towered over the other kids" (Hosseini 38). This explains that Assef was designed to stand out because, unlike all the other kids who have dark brown hair and brown eyes, Assef has the complete opposite, blond hair, and blue eyes. Later at the end of the story, Amir runs into Assef again. If it wasn't for his eye color Amir would not have recognized him, "Then he took off his sunglasses and locked his bloodshot blue eyes on mine...His name escaped my lips: 'Assef" (Hosseini 281). This confirms that Hosseini knew that in Afghanistan, it's very rare to see someone with Assefs features. So, he gave them to Assef to show how he is different from the rest of the characters because he is the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 30. Personal Narrative: Sean's First Day Of High School Today was Sean's first day of highschool. He didn't feel particularly nervous, just annoyed because well, who actually enjoys school? It's just a building full of adults who think they're more superior than you, put you through painfully boring hours of learning things you're never going to use in life, and care more about how short a girl's skirt is than the safety of other students. Not to mention, most of the kids are either egotistic brats, stuck up, act like they always have a branch stuck up their rear end (that's the polite way of putting it), or are fake and lie all the time. Why would Sean Mcloughlin want to spend 7 hours a day trapped in a hell hole like that? The world was a cruel and terrible place, at least from Sean's perspective. Mark is ... Felix grinned, "Ooh, Irish accent, huh? I like that. C'mon I'll show you around school!" I nodded and began to follow his lead. • 31. Observation Of General Education Recently, I had the opportunity to observe several general education classes taught by a single teacher that each contained one or more students who have special needs. Within these classes, I was able to discern how both they and the teacher dealt with their disabilities as well as how they functioned within the atmosphere of general education. In the following paragraphs, I will discuss my observations on three remarkable students and their teacher including their physical, mental and social development. General Information As mentioned above, all of my observations were in several general education classrooms taught by a single teacher, which henceforth, in order to protect the confidentiality of the students within the classroom, I will refer to as Mr. Bubbles. All of the classrooms I observed were general math classes and were full of students ranging from freshman to junior in age groups. Within these classes, I observed a wide range of accommodations for three main students, whom I will refer to as Joey, Jeremy, and Tom, including one–on–one sessions, shortened assignments and tests, and allotted break areas. Due to the parameters of the permission I received to observe in the classroom, I was not able to secure any information on their family interactions, or any other personal dynamics (I was not able to ask personal questions about the students), thus all of my information will be limited to my conversations as well as what happened solely within Mr. Bubbles' ... • 34. Persuasive Speech On Adopting Animals A dog isn't just simply a dog. A dog is a best friend, a companion, a detective, a guide, a gift, and much more. So why would people mistreat their dogs? People still don't know the answer to this question. Commercials have been trying to shine some light on the public about the issue at hand. The issue includes people adopting animals and not being able to care for them. If we take it one step forward, we are also worried about people abusing an animal. A couple commercials in my mind have done an outstanding job in spreading the message of knowing if you are responsible enough to adopt an animal. A commercial that caught my eye is called "Gift". "Gift" starts off with a man driving a very nice car up to a house. The man seems to be well dressed. The music in the background is very happy and you can tell the man is happy as well. I can infer that it is cold outside by the way the people are dressed and how there are no leaves on the trees and it is gloomy. He then gets out of the car and picks up a little girl. The little girl has red hair and is carrying a stuffed toy dog. The man hugs the little girl and puts her in the car with him. The man shares some food with the little girl, which suggests that they like each other and get along. In the next scene, there is a woman with a different little girl that is blonde. The two are drawing and enjoying themselves. I can infer that the older lady is the mother of the younger one due to the older lady giving the younger one a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Even though she was hurrying, she was not looking forward to another school day. When she got out she brushed her dark brown hair, which took a half an hour to dry because of its long length. She then got dressed first putting on her dark blue, holy, Hollister Jeans that barely made it to the ankles of her long legs.
