Since the lease was up, they dismantled the Theater, board by board, and transported it to build a
new theater called the Globe. The Globe could hold approximately 3,000 spectators. "A
proportionately sized theater in modern Manhattan would have a capacity of nearly 160,000."
(Senn, n.p.) Unfortunately on June 29, 1613, the Globe burnt down during a performance of
Shakespeare's play, Henry the Eighth. A cannon, used for the performance, misfired and ignited
wooden beams and caught the theater on fire. Another theater was built in its place in 1614.
Shakespeare had a very unique writing style. William wrote in what we call, modern English. He
composed most of this plays in the form of poetry. His poetry is wrote in iambic pentameter,
which is the most common meter used in the English language poetry. An iamb is a metrical unit
made up of 1 unstressed syllable followed by 1 stressed syllable. Pentameter refers to the number
of iambs in a line. There are five iambs in a line of iambic pentameter. The lines in Shakespeare's
work have 10 syllables per line and they do not rhyme. His plays often have elaborate metaphors
and conceits. Shakespeare's writing style makes his plays hard to read and understand if you are not
used to it.

Claudius had secretly sent orders for the death of Hamlet upon his arrival to England. In Claudius'
speech to Queen Gertrude he pursues to convince her that Hamlet deserves such violent punishments
due to his actions. Throughout his speech the audience is completely aware that this is a set up
done by Claudius himself. This speech builds a feeling of distance and mistrust between the
audience and Claudius as they are entirely aware was the reasons behind Hamlets banishment. By
