Descriptive Essay About Home
Home is a place where the good and the bad memories happen. Home is where the comfortable
side comes out. Only problem is how does home define a person's character? My favorite place to
visit is my grandmother's and grandfather's house in Alabama, because it reminds me of my
childhood, shows me how far in life I have gotten, and provides a sense of comfort.
My childhood was a journey between living with my grandparents for about six years then,
moving to a different state without grandparents. Since we moved several times I never really
had solid friends to grow up with, because my dad is in the military and being stable for a certain
amount of time was not an option. So, every time I go home it is like seeing old friends, because
my grandparents are my best friends without a doubt. No matter what we were doing they always
made it fun. Especially, my grandpa he was the class clown of the family. Do not get me wrong he
could be serious at the right moment, but as his personality he was a funny person. My grandma
is the serious person at times, but she also has that funny side of her. While my childhood was
still in my prime they spent as much time with my sister and I. They would take us shopping for
clothes, shoes, basically anything we wanted. As I grew older they have had talks with me just
about life, and about family. They knew my childhood was coming to a close and started had those
serious talks with me to get me ready for the real stuff.
I come from a small town

Descriptive And Prescriptive Grammar
Introduction In this essay I will discuss the definition of the concept grammar in linguistic science
and thee attitude teachers may have towards such a conceptualization of what grammar is. I will
go into detail by explaining perspective and descriptive grammar. Descriptive Grammar The first
thing that I will be discussing is the definition of descriptive grammar. A descriptive grammar is a
set of rules about language based on how it is actually used. It can relate with a prescriptive
grammar, which is a set of rules based on how people think language should be used. Specialists in
descriptive grammar (linguists) examine the principles and patterns that underlie the use of words,
phrases, clauses, and sentences. In contrast, prescriptive...show more content...
Examples of prescriptive grammar rules can be found in practically every guide to "good"
language usage, grammar rule book, or grammar guide. Teacher's attitude towards grammar
Grammar has always been an important issue in second and foreign language learning and
teaching. Some hold the view that grammar is not essential for second/foreign language learning
and therefore have a 'zero position' regarding grammar teaching. On the other hand, some view
that grammar is necessary for second/foreign language learning. There is often confusion between
what is prescriptively correct under the rules of standard English grammar within different
varieties, which results in various options for classroom grammar teaching for second language
learners. In the classroom relating to descriptive grammar learners can be encouraged to move
away from a prescriptive approach to grammar by using a guided discovery in which they look for
examples of variations in use in authentic texts. These examples can be compared to prescriptive
rules in order to decide if they are useful or

Personal Essay: From Nature To Landscapes
Nature isn't limited to landscapes. It can be behavior or physical, plants and animals. Wild
magnolias and ivy that grow on century old trees rooted firmly near the edge of swampy bayous
and orchards that hold fresh fruit on its branches, wild horses stampeding around canyons, and
hummingbirds flying to a sweet flower. The definition of natural is healthy and clean, it's raw and
pure. It's untouched by the hands of men and unpredictable as if it is has a mind of its own. Nature is
full of many surprises, right now we are trying to recover from Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane
Irma. The thousands of people that lost their belongings, wondering how the forces of nature
could turn against them. When I used to live in Oklahoma, we were in tornado country. I
remember hurrying into our truck and jumping in with my family to, as yes as crazy as it sounds,
outrun the tornado. We had stayed out of its path and we had stopped on the side of the road to
watch it speed past us. It has spared us from being its next victim. In this moment, adrenaline is
surging through my body, and I was praying so hard to God that he would protect us. Although an
act of nature had almost killed us, there is a lesson to be learned from the fear we had felt. We
knew that we had wanted to live. The tornado had made us grateful afterwards that we had
survived it. Nature is something we have in common with everyone. Beauty doesn't just reside in
the U.S, it's global. It can bring together people of all cultures to share and glorify and preserve
earth's handiwork. What if we could promote traveling in schools to see natural beauty and it
would bring a new understanding to millennials of how broad their horizons are? Of course, not
everyone will care, but what matters is trying. Trying to educate teenagers to start young on
thinking about life as know it and if they decide to be architects or landscaping, they have
knowledge on how to avoid destroying landscapes and instead heighten natural reminences. We can
mold this world into how we want it, except we have to be careful of how we mold it and to make
it a better place for future generations. Many careers are based on agriculture, it fuels innovation, the
medical benefits we could

Descriptive Essay On Art
So, what is art? Art is a arrangement of ideas that an artist makes or builds. There are various
variations for art that express their found creativity and inspiration to their artwork. Many people
make art to display their emotions and ideas towards life or to create something beautiful for
spectators. Art is a form of pleasure which appeases the audience to stay connected or feel fixated on
that certain artwork. Art is understood through focusing on its: function, visual form, content and
creativity. It should communicate with the viewers and help them imagine the concept of the
artwork. They should also qualify work that could be seen or physically felt, displaying their ideas to
be conveyed to the public. Imagery and symbolic meaning should be present with their art piece. In
addition, they must portray their creativity and imagination on a canvas or any work of art. In my
opinion, art is a representation of your thoughts and emotions portrayed to the audience in a
perceivable and communicative manner, helping the audience connect with the artwork.
The creativity of paintings helps the viewer understand the artist's emotions, as well as their art piece.
Pablo Picasso, one of the greatest painters of the twentieth century, helped me understand more
about art, as well as his point of view of his own style or method to display his emotions onto a
canvas. I learned that Picasso was the creator of modern arts through his imaginative and innovative
ideas found in

Description of My Room Essay
The place where I feel the most comfortable, and show my personality, is my bedroom. This is the
place where I can really be myself and do what I want; it's the place I come home to, and wake up
every day. My room makes me feel comfortable because it is my own space. My house is always
crazy, with my dog barking, and my siblings running around making noise, my room is the only
place in the house where I can come and relax without caring about everything else, the only place
that I can go to clear my mind.
My room has many characteristics of which I share; it has many pictures that I have taken, about
my friends or other interesting things that I have found. It is the only place that I can make my own,
I can be creative and decorate...show more content...
Another reason that my room makes me feel comfortable is that I love to dance, but I am
embarrassed to do it in front of other people, so whenever I am in my room I can turn the radio
and put on some of my favorite music and dance my best. My room gives me the confidence that I
don't have in other places, it helps me to have trust in myself, I can do the most ridiculous thing
but my room won't say anything, it will never judge me. My room is the only place where I will
try new things and if I feel confident I will try them outside of it. I will give it my best and that is
how my room helps me, by doing something there first I believe more in myself.
It is the place where I can concentrate and think about everything that is going on around me, not
only around my city or state, but all over the world. I get the chance to relax and think in what I
want to do with my life, the kind of future I want to achieve. My room is the place where I can go
and do my homework without getting distracted, where I can write down my feelings and open
my mind to new ideas. Many times I have gone to my room and just write about things that are
going around in the world that will affect me sooner or later, like global warming. I will think about
everything I have heard, and my room makes me feel comfortable like there is nothing that can stop
me from making a comment and saying what is on my mind.

Descriptive Essay About Beauty
She is summer. She is spontaneous plans. She is the ivory rose in a sea of crimson red. The slight
aroma of warm vanilla and sugar radiate off her skin. Her golden wavy hair is untamed, ending at
the small of her back tied up in a loose braid. Behind her slightly crooked black glasses, her eyes are
crystal blue, like a sea in the calm after a raging storm's wrath. Her short brown eyelashes bat
freely as she sways to the soothing music. Each freckle on her young face is warmly welcomed by
her light skin, rather than tolerated. As she parts her lips, pearl white peers out from behind, trying
to make an entrance. A joke makes way for a straight smile as it is accompanied by a proportional
nose, with a slightly bulbous tip front of her open nostrils. Her thick coral lips, slightly upturned at
the corners, return to her normal state after the joke has subsided. The cupids bow resting fairly
high while the thin sides tug at the peaks of her mouth, hiding on the inside of her mouth. The baby
fat is gone from the apples of her cheeks, yet the innocent light coral shade of a newborn baby
remains below her eyes. Below a pouting bottom lip rests a delicate chin comfortably, not
protruding from the face but instead bleeding into her soft heart shaped jaw. Looking past first
impressions, small wrinkles are present on the outsides of her eyes in a sideways v shape. More are
found below her nose, making a path down to the corners of her mouth.
At the base of her average lengthed neck

Descriptive Morality
For each individual human being, there are six states for a human life on a normative scale from
best to worst: first is divine which exceeds the merely human on the one extreme, second is virtuous
which is absence of wrongful desire, third is strong–willed which is the ability to overcome one's
wrongful desire, fourth is weak–willed which is the opposite and so the inability to overcome
wrongful desire, fifth is vicious and bestial which exceeds the merely human on the other extreme
and are often found among barbarians. Another journal from Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy
on The Definition of Morality explains that morality can be used in two broad senses which are
"descriptively to refer to certain codes of conduct put forward by a society or a group (such as
religion), or accepted by an individual for his or her own behavior, secondly, normatively to refer to
a code of conduct that, given specified conditions, would be put forward by all rational persons"
there is a tricky part to morality which are not all codes that are put forward by societies or
groups are moral codes in the descriptive sense of morality, and not all codes that would be
accepted by all moral agents are moral codes in the normative sense of morality (The Definition of
Morality, 2016).
Descriptive morality focuses on the rules of etiquette as well as attitudes of an individual. These
small morals are referred to decency and appropriate in behavior, as how one man should salute or
treat another or

Descriptive Essay Drawing
DrawingDrawing is a good hobby to have, you can spend hours drawing a piece and be so into it
you wouldn't realize how fast time has passed. It's also a good way to release stress, well in my
opinion it is, it has helped me a lot when I am really bored or just have so much problems, I just
put my headphones in and boom, I can go hours trying my best to come up with the most perfect
portrait or just any simple drawing in mind. Only problem I have is that I could just never get the
faces of people right that is one of my flaws, but a flaw that one day I shall surpass and be good at
it with practice of course. I have had a couple of people in my life who I have seen since little that
can draw really good and my goal is to one day catch up to them, which will take lots and lots of
practice, but will be worth it at the end. Going far as back as I can remember I have always been
fascinated with grabbing a pencil or anything I can get a hold of and start to doodle anywhere
which got me into trouble at first, but as time passed my mom would buy me notebooks and lots
of them to doodle the hours away on. I can remember spending all day just drawing and painting
no matter what it was it would go on a paper if it went from drawing me and my mom in a big
house, to just drawing houses and buildings, it would all amuse me. My mom was always there to
help me with supplies since I would go through notebooks really fast, and for a single mom with a
low income job, she

Descriptive Essay About A Hero
When talking about a hero, some people might think of a veteran, a fire fighter, or even
superman. The definition of the word "hero" varies between different people; however, my
definition of a hero is someone who is selfless, brave, and strong. Someone who doesn't runaway
when things get hard, who gives their all just for the wellbeing of others regardless of the strain it
puts on themselves. When thinking of the word "hero" the only person who comes to my mind
is my cousin Cassy. Cassy fits my own personal description of a hero; she is selfless, brave, and
strong. She doesn't run away when things get tough and most importantly, she looks out for
others no matter what the situation is. What is a hero to you? On September 24th of 2017, my
parents, along with my sister and I, walked into my grandma's house around three o'clock in the
afternoon. My aunt Patty had told us she had very important news for us to hear that evening. As
we sat down in the living room of my grandma's small condo, everybody looked at one another
awkwardly waiting for someone to speak first. My mom started the conversation by asking how
long my aunt was going to be in town. My aunt slightly teared up as she tried to spit out her
response. She began to tell us that she was actually moving back home to Fargo from the farm
place her and her boyfriend lived at near Devils Lake. My aunt started to stutter after a while and
then finally blurted out the sentence that nobody ever wants to hear come from a loved

Descriptive Essay About Home
My definition for home cannot be described by words or by a simple thought, but home is rather
of a feeling. Home is the calmness and serenity that settles over me like a blanket on a cold snowy
night, just a silent assurance telling me I belong there. It took me quite a bit of time to understand
where exactly that place was, and I didn't know that the answer was always right in front of me.
This feeling would come and go, and I would never recognize it because I knew that only the
house I lived in was my home. I never realized that the place I lived was not my home, that home
was in fact more than what the words in the dictionary say.

the cold water jug. As we reached the field, all the farmers would smile and greet us, and some
would even admire me for being such a helper. At lunchtime, I sat there along with all those
workers, eating with them and listening. Their conversations mostly consists of the weather and
how they could improve the rice farm. Often, I would make a comment saying, "Don't worry, I will
help", and they loved me. I was the farm's little helper–––this was my home.
There was a tiny pond with a small bridge in beside our old house. The water was so clear that you
could see your reflection, just like a mirror. The summer was the fishing season; I was on a mission.
I had my bright–pink, half gallon bucket in one hand and a little piece of mosquito net on the other.
I wore my shorts and my favourite T–shirt, with my long hair tied back, a true fisher look, I thought.
I put my biggest toe in first to check the temperature of the water, but I always ended up soaking
myself all the way, up to my head trying to catch the fish –– now that's working hard! My friends
and I filled that bright–pink bucket full and our hearts were filled with the sense of

Descriptive Communication Essay

CHAP 6 : NONVERBAL COMMUNICATION
Text Description As we know, touching is a basic physical thing for all kinds of lives of the Earth,
and human or any kind of animal is the same. Touching can show and share the feeling, even when
those are hurt or happy they usually want to touch, or want to be touch of others, especially human.
Depend on the way people touch of others, we can understand at least their messages which they
want to transfer in some situations, we also can feel some of both of the one who gives touching and
the one get touching changing emotions after that, because everyone had lots of touch feeling
experience from we're born.
Personal Example Myself when in painful, I cannot feel grateful with all appease words from
another. Because in that sad situation, no one want to hear too much empty meaning words from
people, they just want to be alone or want someone can understand and share their feelings. So if
that's me, I hope once time someone can hold me tightly and let me cry in their arms, like they
agree to share all my pains. Therefore, when my friends or people who had relationships with me
fall into bad situations, I try to less talk, but touch their hand to give them more power and let them
know that they are not alone to deal with that happen. The true why I didn't hug them is, I don't want
to show too much my emotion in front of people. In my memory since I can understand about
feeling, I did not get any loving touch or kiss from my parent. Maybe they were too busy with
working or because they are classic Asian, so their traditions are keep love in heart without
showing to make the kids less naughty. That makes me feel shy whenever I want to show my
emotion with people close to me by touching, but I still want and need to have caring touch from
other, the real loving touch with good intention. By the way talk about touch, some people said
I'm friendly, some said I'm not, just because I don't do well to handle the fake welcome or fake
caring touch from them to me. I'm easy to realize who is wanting to share happy or sad with me
when they show that by their touches. Same as most people, I can feel my friends who are boys

Descriptive Essay About Happiness
The wind is ripping at our hair, both of us are panting to get some air into our lungs and
throughout our bodies. The strain is almost too much to bear, but we finally make it. We reached
the top of the hill and I won against my friend in our bike race through the city. Feeling like I might
suffocate and fall off my bike may not seem like something that can make me happy, but if it's with
my best friend, anything can make me happy. Happiness to me is being able to have fun and enjoy
small and big moments with the people you love. It should come easily without having to put much
effort into achieving it. Happiness should not be something I must chase, but it should float onto my
lap while I'm sitting with my feet kicked up. The greatest example of being filled with happiness
would be the day I rode through the cities with my most beloved friend.
This happiness filled drive through the cities started in the car. On a warm June morning, Sabrina
picked me up from my house and we set off on the road. I made a special playlist to dance and
sing our lungs out the full hour and a half drive up to the twin cities. We had not seen each other
for quite some time so this drive was especially important to catch up on our lives and some juicy
gossip. This is one of my favorite things to do with Sabrina because even when all we do is sit and
do nothing, I find that I enjoy myself to the fullest extent. Sitting there listening to my friend talk
about how annoying a classmate is, or how she tried a new food just puts a smile on my face.
Singing until we're out of breath and taking the time to listen to all the events in our lives is one of
the things I loved to do and I valued all the things we shared with one another.
We then began to transition our car ride into a bike ride. Before arriving at Fort Snelling to start
biking, we decided to stop by Caribou Coffee for a quick snack. We drove right past Caribou Coffee
for two to three miles before we realized the GPS was screaming at us to make a U–turn. Eventually,
Sabrina and I got our coffees and sat down to talk about where we'd like to bike. We decided upon
following the trails by Fort Snelling to Minnehaha Falls. After downing our drinks, and driving to
Fort Snelling, the

Descriptive Statistics Essay
Introduction to descriptive statistics help:
Definition of Statistics:
In simple terms, statistics is termed as a branch of mathematics which basically deals with collection
of data and its subsequent analysis and interpretation both qualitatively and quantitatively. In most of
the cases the data is numerical, but there are also cases when the data is non–numerical such as
relationship between objects.
Without statistics, it would be difficult to maintain anything numerical in nature and extremely
difficult to go through the daily routines of life. Imagine watching a baseball match or basket match
without knowing the score of each team or imagine going to a super mart trying to find the latest
manufactured milk product without having the manufactured date printed on the milk product carton.
The person who is well versed in statistics is called a statistician and is supposed to have a good
knowledge and understanding of the ways to collect data, maintain data, interpret/analyse data and
finally present the data.

Descriptive Essay About Beauty
I think our minds are obsessed with beauty. We envy those we cannot be. We strive to have this
picture perfect life, or something close to it. When I was younger, I was never out going or the kid
that talked all the time. That just wasn't me. I never thought of myself as beautiful. I thought I was
pretty, but in my mind, to be truly beautiful, one must possess other characteristics beyond the
physical realm. To be exquisite, perfectly, and wholeheartedly beautiful, one must be: independent,
self–confident, and happy. I didn't see this in myself at the time, but how could I? I was still in
elementary school. There is one woman, however, who I considered being one of the most beautiful

I hated shopping. But this lady with her textured turtleneck always mesmerized me with how
powerfully she presented herself. She was always so polished and prim. I never remember a
Sunday where she looked like the overworked mother, or the stress ridden woman trying to keep
her life together. No, she was quite the opposite. She was in complete control of her life.
Years passed by, I no longer saw any of her kids. Her husband, who was quite obviously older than
her, began to deteriorate. He had surgery that left him unable to walk without assistance. She was
always there, guiding him, smiling at him, helping him into the car. She maintained the same
calm, loving style towards him, before and after. At this point, I was quite a bit older. I
understood death. I could tell just by looking at him, that his time was coming to an end; anyone
could. But she paid no attention to that. She appeared older than before. Not in sense that she was
dying, but she seemed like she had accomplished whatever she wanted in life. She seemed serene,
they both did. It was in those last few months they had together that I saw a couple truly in love.
They were happy. I've never seen anything like that before. I don't think that people genuinely
understand their feelings for a person until they've lived without him or her or they know that that
time is coming. She never once showed any sadness or sorrow. She remained as caring and as gentle
as ever.
He did eventually pass. She

The city that once had homed thousands and been the most economically successful country ever,

despair lies dystopia where hope dies. As someone looks through the eyes of the devil, they see his

I grab the white headphones and put the EarPods into my ears. Then, I go through a variety of

Writing is the illustration of language in an exceedingly matter medium through the utilization of a

Writing has been with us for many thousand years, and these days is more important than ever.
Having spread steadily over the centuries from clay tablets to PC chips, it's poised for additional
dramatic advances. Though hundreds of millions of people are still unable to read and write,
humanity depends on writing to an unprecedented extent. It's quite possible that, today, more
communication takes place within the written than in the oral mode.
The purposes of writing are narrated (narrative writing), narration is story telling. In some ways it's
the best kind of writing as a result of it comes so naturally to most people. Practically everybody
enjoys telling and hearing stories. Narratives sometimes progress chronologically, and should have a
clear starting, middle and finish. Short stories, novels, personal narratives, anecdotes, and
biographies are all examples of narrative writing. Description (descriptive writing), the concept of
description is to create the thing described seem real to the reader's imagination. Not much writing is
only descriptive, writers usually weave description into longer narrative works. Some essential
descriptive writing, however, might include

Definition Essay About Words
Each word has a meaning. A word is a name we give things so we can call it something. The
definition of a word according to the dictionary is "noun. a single distinct meaningful element of
speech or writing, used with others or sometimes alone to form a sentence and typically shown with
a space on either side when written or printed." To break down, or to simplify what that definition
means is, a more technical meaning. This definition is saying that thing, that a english essay was
made up of has spaces in between all those letters that are crammed together.
When you think about it everything we say is consisted of words. Its how we talk, in any language
,no matter what language. When you speak your first word it's usually celebrated. This is because it's
just one accomplishment that pushes you into joining our society. The most common first word is
'Dada'. This word is an example of how words are important. That first...show more content...
Although they are a huge positive resource to civilization there is a downfall. For example
Mother Teresa once said " kind words are short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly
endless." what she was saying is that yes words are good but, like the game telephone that most
people have played in their youth; they can be repeated twisted or changed for bad and/or evil.
They can start out good but then change or become evil. Same way opposite though; they could
start out evil and then change good. Another quote from an unknown source is that "words are
free. Its how you use them, that may cost you." this quote relates to the previous quote to an
extent. But also adds in that you can say any word you want. There is nothing stopping you from
speaking unless you are being physically kept from speaking or have a disability that does not
allow you to do so. If you do decide to use any word and that word or language causes harm to
others there might be conceived that come with those words you decided to

Descriptive Essay Definition

  • 1. Descriptive Essay About Home Home is a place where the good and the bad memories happen. Home is where the comfortable side comes out. Only problem is how does home define a person's character? My favorite place to visit is my grandmother's and grandfather's house in Alabama, because it reminds me of my childhood, shows me how far in life I have gotten, and provides a sense of comfort. My childhood was a journey between living with my grandparents for about six years then, moving to a different state without grandparents. Since we moved several times I never really had solid friends to grow up with, because my dad is in the military and being stable for a certain amount of time was not an option. So, every time I go home it is like seeing old friends, because my grandparents are my best friends without a doubt. No matter what we were doing they always made it fun. Especially, my grandpa he was the class clown of the family. Do not get me wrong he could be serious at the right moment, but as his personality he was a funny person. My grandma is the serious person at times, but she also has that funny side of her. While my childhood was still in my prime they spent as much time with my sister and I. They would take us shopping for clothes, shoes, basically anything we wanted. As I grew older they have had talks with me just about life, and about family. They knew my childhood was coming to a close and started had those serious talks with me to get me ready for the real stuff. I come from a small town Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Descriptive And Prescriptive Grammar Introduction In this essay I will discuss the definition of the concept grammar in linguistic science and thee attitude teachers may have towards such a conceptualization of what grammar is. I will go into detail by explaining perspective and descriptive grammar. Descriptive Grammar The first thing that I will be discussing is the definition of descriptive grammar. A descriptive grammar is a set of rules about language based on how it is actually used. It can relate with a prescriptive grammar, which is a set of rules based on how people think language should be used. Specialists in descriptive grammar (linguists) examine the principles and patterns that underlie the use of words, phrases, clauses, and sentences. In contrast, prescriptive...show more content... Examples of prescriptive grammar rules can be found in practically every guide to "good" language usage, grammar rule book, or grammar guide. Teacher's attitude towards grammar Grammar has always been an important issue in second and foreign language learning and teaching. Some hold the view that grammar is not essential for second/foreign language learning and therefore have a 'zero position' regarding grammar teaching. On the other hand, some view that grammar is necessary for second/foreign language learning. There is often confusion between what is prescriptively correct under the rules of standard English grammar within different varieties, which results in various options for classroom grammar teaching for second language learners. In the classroom relating to descriptive grammar learners can be encouraged to move away from a prescriptive approach to grammar by using a guided discovery in which they look for examples of variations in use in authentic texts. These examples can be compared to prescriptive rules in order to decide if they are useful or Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Personal Essay: From Nature To Landscapes Nature isn't limited to landscapes. It can be behavior or physical, plants and animals. Wild magnolias and ivy that grow on century old trees rooted firmly near the edge of swampy bayous and orchards that hold fresh fruit on its branches, wild horses stampeding around canyons, and hummingbirds flying to a sweet flower. The definition of natural is healthy and clean, it's raw and pure. It's untouched by the hands of men and unpredictable as if it is has a mind of its own. Nature is full of many surprises, right now we are trying to recover from Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma. The thousands of people that lost their belongings, wondering how the forces of nature could turn against them. When I used to live in Oklahoma, we were in tornado country. I remember hurrying into our truck and jumping in with my family to, as yes as crazy as it sounds, outrun the tornado. We had stayed out of its path and we had stopped on the side of the road to watch it speed past us. It has spared us from being its next victim. In this moment, adrenaline is surging through my body, and I was praying so hard to God that he would protect us. Although an act of nature had almost killed us, there is a lesson to be learned from the fear we had felt. We knew that we had wanted to live. The tornado had made us grateful afterwards that we had survived it. Nature is something we have in common with everyone. Beauty doesn't just reside in the U.S, it's global. It can bring together people of all cultures to share and glorify and preserve earth's handiwork. What if we could promote traveling in schools to see natural beauty and it would bring a new understanding to millennials of how broad their horizons are? Of course, not everyone will care, but what matters is trying. Trying to educate teenagers to start young on thinking about life as know it and if they decide to be architects or landscaping, they have knowledge on how to avoid destroying landscapes and instead heighten natural reminences. We can mold this world into how we want it, except we have to be careful of how we mold it and to make it a better place for future generations. Many careers are based on agriculture, it fuels innovation, the medical benefits we could Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Descriptive Essay On Art So, what is art? Art is a arrangement of ideas that an artist makes or builds. There are various variations for art that express their found creativity and inspiration to their artwork. Many people make art to display their emotions and ideas towards life or to create something beautiful for spectators. Art is a form of pleasure which appeases the audience to stay connected or feel fixated on that certain artwork. Art is understood through focusing on its: function, visual form, content and creativity. It should communicate with the viewers and help them imagine the concept of the artwork. They should also qualify work that could be seen or physically felt, displaying their ideas to be conveyed to the public. Imagery and symbolic meaning should be present with their art piece. In addition, they must portray their creativity and imagination on a canvas or any work of art. In my opinion, art is a representation of your thoughts and emotions portrayed to the audience in a perceivable and communicative manner, helping the audience connect with the artwork. The creativity of paintings helps the viewer understand the artist's emotions, as well as their art piece. Pablo Picasso, one of the greatest painters of the twentieth century, helped me understand more about art, as well as his point of view of his own style or method to display his emotions onto a canvas. I learned that Picasso was the creator of modern arts through his imaginative and innovative ideas found in Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Description of My Room Essay The place where I feel the most comfortable, and show my personality, is my bedroom. This is the place where I can really be myself and do what I want; it's the place I come home to, and wake up every day. My room makes me feel comfortable because it is my own space. My house is always crazy, with my dog barking, and my siblings running around making noise, my room is the only place in the house where I can come and relax without caring about everything else, the only place that I can go to clear my mind. My room has many characteristics of which I share; it has many pictures that I have taken, about my friends or other interesting things that I have found. It is the only place that I can make my own, I can be creative and decorate...show more content... Another reason that my room makes me feel comfortable is that I love to dance, but I am embarrassed to do it in front of other people, so whenever I am in my room I can turn the radio and put on some of my favorite music and dance my best. My room gives me the confidence that I don't have in other places, it helps me to have trust in myself, I can do the most ridiculous thing but my room won't say anything, it will never judge me. My room is the only place where I will try new things and if I feel confident I will try them outside of it. I will give it my best and that is how my room helps me, by doing something there first I believe more in myself. It is the place where I can concentrate and think about everything that is going on around me, not only around my city or state, but all over the world. I get the chance to relax and think in what I want to do with my life, the kind of future I want to achieve. My room is the place where I can go and do my homework without getting distracted, where I can write down my feelings and open my mind to new ideas. Many times I have gone to my room and just write about things that are going around in the world that will affect me sooner or later, like global warming. I will think about everything I have heard, and my room makes me feel comfortable like there is nothing that can stop me from making a comment and saying what is on my mind. • 6. Descriptive Essay About Beauty She is summer. She is spontaneous plans. She is the ivory rose in a sea of crimson red. The slight aroma of warm vanilla and sugar radiate off her skin. Her golden wavy hair is untamed, ending at the small of her back tied up in a loose braid. Behind her slightly crooked black glasses, her eyes are crystal blue, like a sea in the calm after a raging storm's wrath. Her short brown eyelashes bat freely as she sways to the soothing music. Each freckle on her young face is warmly welcomed by her light skin, rather than tolerated. As she parts her lips, pearl white peers out from behind, trying to make an entrance. A joke makes way for a straight smile as it is accompanied by a proportional nose, with a slightly bulbous tip front of her open nostrils. Her thick coral lips, slightly upturned at the corners, return to her normal state after the joke has subsided. The cupids bow resting fairly high while the thin sides tug at the peaks of her mouth, hiding on the inside of her mouth. The baby fat is gone from the apples of her cheeks, yet the innocent light coral shade of a newborn baby remains below her eyes. Below a pouting bottom lip rests a delicate chin comfortably, not protruding from the face but instead bleeding into her soft heart shaped jaw. Looking past first impressions, small wrinkles are present on the outsides of her eyes in a sideways v shape. More are found below her nose, making a path down to the corners of her mouth. At the base of her average lengthed neck Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Descriptive Morality For each individual human being, there are six states for a human life on a normative scale from best to worst: first is divine which exceeds the merely human on the one extreme, second is virtuous which is absence of wrongful desire, third is strong–willed which is the ability to overcome one's wrongful desire, fourth is weak–willed which is the opposite and so the inability to overcome wrongful desire, fifth is vicious and bestial which exceeds the merely human on the other extreme and are often found among barbarians. Another journal from Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy on The Definition of Morality explains that morality can be used in two broad senses which are "descriptively to refer to certain codes of conduct put forward by a society or a group (such as religion), or accepted by an individual for his or her own behavior, secondly, normatively to refer to a code of conduct that, given specified conditions, would be put forward by all rational persons" there is a tricky part to morality which are not all codes that are put forward by societies or groups are moral codes in the descriptive sense of morality, and not all codes that would be accepted by all moral agents are moral codes in the normative sense of morality (The Definition of Morality, 2016). Descriptive morality focuses on the rules of etiquette as well as attitudes of an individual. These small morals are referred to decency and appropriate in behavior, as how one man should salute or treat another or Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Descriptive Essay Drawing DrawingDrawing is a good hobby to have, you can spend hours drawing a piece and be so into it you wouldn't realize how fast time has passed. It's also a good way to release stress, well in my opinion it is, it has helped me a lot when I am really bored or just have so much problems, I just put my headphones in and boom, I can go hours trying my best to come up with the most perfect portrait or just any simple drawing in mind. Only problem I have is that I could just never get the faces of people right that is one of my flaws, but a flaw that one day I shall surpass and be good at it with practice of course. I have had a couple of people in my life who I have seen since little that can draw really good and my goal is to one day catch up to them, which will take lots and lots of practice, but will be worth it at the end. Going far as back as I can remember I have always been fascinated with grabbing a pencil or anything I can get a hold of and start to doodle anywhere which got me into trouble at first, but as time passed my mom would buy me notebooks and lots of them to doodle the hours away on. I can remember spending all day just drawing and painting no matter what it was it would go on a paper if it went from drawing me and my mom in a big house, to just drawing houses and buildings, it would all amuse me. My mom was always there to help me with supplies since I would go through notebooks really fast, and for a single mom with a low income job, she Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Descriptive Essay About A Hero When talking about a hero, some people might think of a veteran, a fire fighter, or even superman. The definition of the word "hero" varies between different people; however, my definition of a hero is someone who is selfless, brave, and strong. Someone who doesn't runaway when things get hard, who gives their all just for the wellbeing of others regardless of the strain it puts on themselves. When thinking of the word "hero" the only person who comes to my mind is my cousin Cassy. Cassy fits my own personal description of a hero; she is selfless, brave, and strong. She doesn't run away when things get tough and most importantly, she looks out for others no matter what the situation is. What is a hero to you? On September 24th of 2017, my parents, along with my sister and I, walked into my grandma's house around three o'clock in the afternoon. My aunt Patty had told us she had very important news for us to hear that evening. As we sat down in the living room of my grandma's small condo, everybody looked at one another awkwardly waiting for someone to speak first. My mom started the conversation by asking how long my aunt was going to be in town. My aunt slightly teared up as she tried to spit out her response. She began to tell us that she was actually moving back home to Fargo from the farm place her and her boyfriend lived at near Devils Lake. My aunt started to stutter after a while and then finally blurted out the sentence that nobody ever wants to hear come from a loved Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Descriptive Essay About Home My definition for home cannot be described by words or by a simple thought, but home is rather of a feeling. Home is the calmness and serenity that settles over me like a blanket on a cold snowy night, just a silent assurance telling me I belong there. It took me quite a bit of time to understand where exactly that place was, and I didn't know that the answer was always right in front of me. This feeling would come and go, and I would never recognize it because I knew that only the house I lived in was my home. I never realized that the place I lived was not my home, that home was in fact more than what the words in the dictionary say. When I was younger, I lived in the Philippines, my backyard were the rice fields and I would...show more content... During lunch, my grandma and mother would cook in the kitchen and set up the food in the big picnic basket to later share with everyone. We would walk along to thefield and my job was to carry the cold water jug. As we reached the field, all the farmers would smile and greet us, and some would even admire me for being such a helper. At lunchtime, I sat there along with all those workers, eating with them and listening. Their conversations mostly consists of the weather and how they could improve the rice farm. Often, I would make a comment saying, "Don't worry, I will help", and they loved me. I was the farm's little helper–––this was my home. There was a tiny pond with a small bridge in beside our old house. The water was so clear that you could see your reflection, just like a mirror. The summer was the fishing season; I was on a mission. I had my bright–pink, half gallon bucket in one hand and a little piece of mosquito net on the other. I wore my shorts and my favourite T–shirt, with my long hair tied back, a true fisher look, I thought. I put my biggest toe in first to check the temperature of the water, but I always ended up soaking myself all the way, up to my head trying to catch the fish –– now that's working hard! My friends and I filled that bright–pink bucket full and our hearts were filled with the sense of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Descriptive Communication Essay Vivian (Cam Tu– C02581886) – COMM 100 CHAP 6 : NONVERBAL COMMUNICATION Text Description As we know, touching is a basic physical thing for all kinds of lives of the Earth, and human or any kind of animal is the same. Touching can show and share the feeling, even when those are hurt or happy they usually want to touch, or want to be touch of others, especially human. Depend on the way people touch of others, we can understand at least their messages which they want to transfer in some situations, we also can feel some of both of the one who gives touching and the one get touching changing emotions after that, because everyone had lots of touch feeling experience from we're born. Personal Example Myself when in painful, I cannot feel grateful with all appease words from another. Because in that sad situation, no one want to hear too much empty meaning words from people, they just want to be alone or want someone can understand and share their feelings. So if that's me, I hope once time someone can hold me tightly and let me cry in their arms, like they agree to share all my pains. Therefore, when my friends or people who had relationships with me fall into bad situations, I try to less talk, but touch their hand to give them more power and let them know that they are not alone to deal with that happen. The true why I didn't hug them is, I don't want to show too much my emotion in front of people. In my memory since I can understand about feeling, I did not get any loving touch or kiss from my parent. Maybe they were too busy with working or because they are classic Asian, so their traditions are keep love in heart without showing to make the kids less naughty. That makes me feel shy whenever I want to show my emotion with people close to me by touching, but I still want and need to have caring touch from other, the real loving touch with good intention. By the way talk about touch, some people said I'm friendly, some said I'm not, just because I don't do well to handle the fake welcome or fake caring touch from them to me. I'm easy to realize who is wanting to share happy or sad with me when they show that by their touches. Same as most people, I can feel my friends who are boys missing Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Descriptive Essay About Happiness The wind is ripping at our hair, both of us are panting to get some air into our lungs and throughout our bodies. The strain is almost too much to bear, but we finally make it. We reached the top of the hill and I won against my friend in our bike race through the city. Feeling like I might suffocate and fall off my bike may not seem like something that can make me happy, but if it's with my best friend, anything can make me happy. Happiness to me is being able to have fun and enjoy small and big moments with the people you love. It should come easily without having to put much effort into achieving it. Happiness should not be something I must chase, but it should float onto my lap while I'm sitting with my feet kicked up. The greatest example of being filled with happiness would be the day I rode through the cities with my most beloved friend. This happiness filled drive through the cities started in the car. On a warm June morning, Sabrina picked me up from my house and we set off on the road. I made a special playlist to dance and sing our lungs out the full hour and a half drive up to the twin cities. We had not seen each other for quite some time so this drive was especially important to catch up on our lives and some juicy gossip. This is one of my favorite things to do with Sabrina because even when all we do is sit and do nothing, I find that I enjoy myself to the fullest extent. Sitting there listening to my friend talk about how annoying a classmate is, or how she tried a new food just puts a smile on my face. Singing until we're out of breath and taking the time to listen to all the events in our lives is one of the things I loved to do and I valued all the things we shared with one another. We then began to transition our car ride into a bike ride. Before arriving at Fort Snelling to start biking, we decided to stop by Caribou Coffee for a quick snack. We drove right past Caribou Coffee for two to three miles before we realized the GPS was screaming at us to make a U–turn. Eventually, Sabrina and I got our coffees and sat down to talk about where we'd like to bike. We decided upon following the trails by Fort Snelling to Minnehaha Falls. After downing our drinks, and driving to Fort Snelling, the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Descriptive Statistics Essay Introduction to descriptive statistics help: Definition of Statistics: In simple terms, statistics is termed as a branch of mathematics which basically deals with collection of data and its subsequent analysis and interpretation both qualitatively and quantitatively. • 14. Descriptive Essay About Beauty I think our minds are obsessed with beauty. We envy those we cannot be. We strive to have this picture perfect life, or something close to it. When I was younger, I was never out going or the kid that talked all the time. That just wasn't me. I never thought of myself as beautiful. I thought I was pretty, but in my mind, to be truly beautiful, one must possess other characteristics beyond the physical realm. To be exquisite, perfectly, and wholeheartedly beautiful, one must be: independent, self–confident, and happy. I didn't see this in myself at the time, but how could I? I was still in elementary school. There is one woman, however, who I considered being one of the most beautiful beings. She is partially the reason I am the person I am...show more content... I hated shopping. But this lady with her textured turtleneck always mesmerized me with how powerfully she presented herself. She was always so polished and prim. I never remember a Sunday where she looked like the overworked mother, or the stress ridden woman trying to keep her life together. No, she was quite the opposite. She was in complete control of her life. Years passed by, I no longer saw any of her kids. Her husband, who was quite obviously older than her, began to deteriorate. He had surgery that left him unable to walk without assistance. She was always there, guiding him, smiling at him, helping him into the car. She maintained the same calm, loving style towards him, before and after. At this point, I was quite a bit older. I understood death. I could tell just by looking at him, that his time was coming to an end; anyone could. But she paid no attention to that. She appeared older than before. Not in sense that she was dying, but she seemed like she had accomplished whatever she wanted in life. She seemed serene, they both did. It was in those last few months they had together that I saw a couple truly in love. They were happy. I've never seen anything like that before. I don't think that people genuinely understand their feelings for a person until they've lived without him or her or they know that that time is coming. She never once showed any sadness or sorrow. She remained as caring and as gentle as ever. He did eventually pass. She Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 17. Descriptive Essay On Dystopia Dystopian Setting The city that once had homed thousands and been the most economically successful country ever, was now a contaminated wasteland. The land looked dry, destroyed and lonely. The morning breeze felt like crying sorrows, and the grey deceitful sky awed down at us. In the deepest corner of despair lies dystopia where hope dies. As someone looks through the eyes of the devil, they see his utopia. Only visible by the dim light of the moon was the great wall. Beyond the wall? No one knew. Stretching away from the wall was a humongous bridge that towered the wall. Standing tall on the bridge was a tower, which had two circles that almost looked like eyes. Those mysterious, creepy and dangerous looking eyes stared down at the city giving away a haunting look. The reek of death hangs in the air throughout the land. Filling the mouths of those who lived in this abandoned land was the taste of burnt garlic. The screams and cries of terror undistinguishable between beast and human fill the ears of the last ones living. The sky, which was lit by the glow of fires, is grey and empty. Aggressively, the wind walked past the building with its cruddy feeling, blowing away all signs of life. Deeper and deeper into the land was a burning car door. The fire roared and crackled. The roaring and crackling of the burning car door merged with the aggressive air and created the loudest sounds ever heard on land. Growing darker, the skies made me feel nauseous. In order for me to dIscuss who I am in an accurate manner then I must provide some basic background information on myself and talk about the Environment I grew up in. This way people can get a better understanding of why I am the way I am. My Background is so essential In making me myself because If I had been born under any different circumstances or grew up any differently I would be a different person than I am today. I have always grown up in a family that speaks only english so I find it interesting to go over to other people's houses and hear them communicating in another language. For example, in school when we work in group projects we collaborate and communicate with people who think differently than us then work together to figure out whose ideas will work the best and how to improve them. Another factor that plays a part in why I am shaped how I am is my family's economic circumstances. I have always had access to anything I needed and for that I have extreme gratitude because I know some people have a lot of difficulty in life. Since I was born into a family with such good economic circumstances I have been lucky to have lots of opportunities. One Opportunity I had as a child was participating in taekwondo. I did taekwondo until I reached a blackbelt which took years of hardwork and dedication. I had to memorize forms, Spar with other competitors and break boards in order to continue to move up to the next level. Taekwondo also helped keep me in good shape and fit when I was younger. Another Opportunity I am grateful for is the skill of playing the piano. • 19. Descriptive Essay About Music I grab the white headphones and put the EarPods into my ears. Then, I go through a variety of songs until my thumb lingers over the song "You Know Me" by a band named Thunder Dreamer. Quickly, I click play and the world around me stops as the music enters my ears. The soft guitar strums put an end to my over thinking and suppresses my feelings of sadness. By the time the vocals appear in the song, I can only think about music and how happy I am in this moment. By this I mean that hearing music is the equivalent of being at peace. To be more specific, music puts me in every place I've ever felt happiness, tastes as sweet as it sounds and relaxes my overwhelming thoughts. With this said, I am on top of the world when I have the headphones in my ears. I feel as though I can do anything when I am blasting a song by Cage the Elephant on my speaker. Whether I am listening through my headphones or on a speaker, the volume is always the highest it can be. This way, the music penetrates through the walls and through every layer of skin on my body. I know this high level of noise is not good for me, but the music is. Uniquely, music places me back into every dream I've ever forgotten. I am suddenly placed into the dream where I'm a kid and I am laughing as my friends try to catch me in a game of tag. In a matter of three beats, I am a child again and I can only thank music for this. It's distinguished from illustration, like cave drawing and painting, and non symbolic preservation of language via non textual media, like as magnetic tape audio. Writing has been with us for many thousand years, and these days is more important than ever. Having spread steadily over the centuries from clay tablets to PC chips, it's poised for additional dramatic advances. Though hundreds of millions of people are still unable to read and write, humanity depends on writing to an unprecedented extent. It's quite possible that, today, more communication takes place within the written than in the oral mode. The purposes of writing are narrated (narrative writing), narration is story telling. In some ways it's the best kind of writing as a result of it comes so naturally to most people. Practically everybody enjoys telling and hearing stories. Narratives sometimes progress chronologically, and should have a clear starting, middle and finish. They can start out good but then change or become evil. Same way opposite though; they could start out evil and then change good. Another quote from an unknown source is that "words are free. Its how you use them, that may cost you." this quote relates to the previous quote to an extent. But also adds in that you can say any word you want.
