3. In 1975, Raj and Akhil shah founded shah safari, Inc. to design, manufacture,
market and distribute trend setting young men’s sportswear.
At the time they founded their company, Raj (19) & Akhil (17), were both
students at shoreline community college just north of Seattle.
Shah safari grew rapidly into thriving business. Innovative designs, reliability,
sourcing strength, and popular price points rendered a huge market share of
the young men’s woven shirt business in the U.S.
In 1982 shah safari, Inc. launched its INTERNATIONAL NEWS, INC. division
to address a more upscale young men’s sportswear market.
I.N was one of the pioneers of the urban sportswear trend with the
internationally popular brand, MECCA.

Several years ago, Raj and Akhil shah were awarded the prestigious “Northwest
Entrepreneur of the year award” sponsored by Merrill lynch and Ernst and young
LLP.
Shah Safari, Inc. international headquarters and domestic distribution centers
remain in Seattle. The company operates international offices. Showrooms,
design studios and production facilities in NewYork, London, Hong Kong,
Mumbai, India and Kenya.

13. We celebrated my last day in office
My director Mr.Chacko Puthoor was very friendly that I can
clear my doubts without hesitating.
This opportnity gave me a positive feeling, as I was afraid in
beginning but on last day it was completely opposite
I wish I could be there for longer period of time.
