Caribbean Entertainment Industry
As we know it, the Entertainment Industry has changed numerous lives in America and the world as a whole. This market has an influential impact
on most lives today, by the way of our emotions and perception. We lean to music as our comfort as different artists impact differently; listening to
Trey Songs at the end of a relationship and Barry White to set the mood. It is safe to our lives revolve around what goes on in the entertainment
industry. The Caribbean has tried on many occasions to produce award winning films,Third World Cop in 1999, Shottas in 2002, Dancehall Queen in
1997, just to name a few. However, those films only left a mark on neighboring countries and a few places in America with Caribbean decent. Attempts
were made to produce music and sitcoms which impressed the world but not for a long period; example Dwayne Bravo's "Champion" and to those
who remember, "Westwood Park." It is to say that if the Caribbean was to introduce film making, would be a successful business opportunity, one
however that will face many callenges. Batman vs Superman, Dawn of Justice, was an incredible movie and left a few heads thinking, if the
Caribbean should invest in such industry to catch the world's attention. There are many factors which needs to be taken into consideration to make a
decision. Many would ask themselves, "what would be so hard in a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Use Of Quantum Mechanics On The Entertainment Industry
Without the help of quantum mechanics, life would be almost unrecognizable when compared to what it looks like it does today. It is incorporated into
nearly every aspect of modern life, many of which are taken for granted. The entertainment industry is no different. Everything from TVs and DVD and
Blu–ray players to video game consoles and even some types of stage lights would not be made possible without the use of quantum mechanics.
Without the discovery of quantum mechanics, the entertainment industry would be nothing like the industry of today.
DVD Blu–ray players are a relatively new innovation when it comes to home entertainment and could not be made possible without their quantum
mechanics inspired laser technology. Lasers work by utilizing Schrodinger's equation to predict where an electron is at any given moment. When atoms
are excited, their electrons gain energy and move up an energy level, and when the electrons return to their initial energy level, they release photons
causing light to be emitted. The light of a laser is only one color because it is only made up of one wavelength. The photons of a laser are all
concentrated into a small beam, making it strong unlike the beams of regular light. Both devices work when a laser reads pits or marks on the disk
which the machine then interprets into a movie or video game. Where DVD and Blu–ray differ however, is the marks on a Blu–ray disk are much
smaller and therefore requires a better and more precise laser to

Video Games Have Become A Real Influence On The Curriculum...
Through the decades, the video game industry has rapidly improved the technology to home gaming. Video games have become a real influence on the
curriculum of the modern entertainment industry. Video game campaigns have a very strategized, but hidden way of luring people to buy their
product. I believe that the way that they use social influence like Facebook or twitter to spread the word that their new video game is coming. Social
influence is a huge way to advertise and seduce the video game obsessed population to purchase their product. They also seem to use perception
and sensation during commercials as they show previews of the game and start the new upgrades to last year 's game. Furthermore, they show
critics ' reviews in big bold letters to show the audience that these big name brands like Ubisoft, Konami, and Capcom who support the game. The
advanced technology of vibration and action make it hard for young video game entrepreneurs not to buy the new game. People can also be
influenced by stress and emotion.Video game campaigners use scientific studies on how video games affect psychological disorders and they make
sure to state those studies in the commercials and reviews on the new games. As you can see psychology has a lot to do with our everyday lives, and
with companies trying to attract their target audience.
Some video games help psychological disorders such as autism, anxiety depression and PTSD. Jeff Cattel states that "Developers have already designed

Hollywood And The American Entertainment Industry
Since its inception, Hollywood and the American entertainment industry have had an unprecedented amount of influence over popular culture.
America has set the standard in media, and its citizens look to Hollywood not only for entertainment, but also for societal norms. Ideally, the content
being produced would place emphasis on developing complex characters from a multitude of backgrounds that diverse audiences can relate to, and
include people with different perspectives to contribute to writing, directing, producing, and acting. But the reality is Hollywood has historically
revolved around narratives written by and featuring white, straight men. This is not to say that there are not any sources of media that include more

However, my main caregiver was my mother, and this meant being surrounded with Japanese culture at home. Growing up in between these different
cultures and being an avid pop culture consumer has made me more in–tune to how people of color–specifically Japanese or Asian people–are
portrayed in films and television and how my white peers interacted with it and reacted to it. Before understanding how depictions of people of color
in film and television affect how audiences view race, what must first be considered is how people of color are being represented both on and off
screen. In an article discussing diversity in cultural production, Dr. Maryann Erigha, an assistant professor of sociology at the University of Memphis,
presents three types of representation to examine: numerical representation, the number of people from a specific group that are working either
on–screen or behind–the–scene jobs; quality of representation, what kinds of roles are groups filling; and centrality of representation, how central
groups are to the industry's main institutions (Erigha). The simplest way of examining the numerical representation for marginalized groups in
Hollywood is to compare the amount of people from a specific group that are working in the industry to that same group's representative percentage of
the American population. A study conducted in 2014 by UCLA analyzed 172 films released in 2011 and 1061 TV shows aired in the 2011

Gender In The Entertainment Industry
Throughout the years, the entertainment industry has had many effects on society such showing us what are societies expectations. One huge factor
that the entertainment industry affects is how gender is constructed and how hegemonic masculinity is part of our gender narrative in the US. In
mainstream media, ranging from music to television, we usually see or hear women taking roles as someone is weaker or doesn't have the same
power as men. In the music industry, women are shown as objects or property. In todays culture the music genre that has taken over our generation
is rap and hip hop. Some of the most popular male rappers are Snoop Dog, Ice Cube, The Game and many others. These rappers have one thing in
common in their music when it comes to talking about females, which is degrading women. Their lyrics usually consists of calling women "bitches"
or "hoes" or any other word that demeans women. Recently, a new rapper has come up and many praise her for being a female rapper and being on the
billboards number 1 spot for her song Bodak Yellow and her name is Cardi B. Cardi B song talks about how she raised up fro being a stripper to
now an artist known worldwide. Although many love her song, feminist's wish that she could of made her art without bring other women down.
In Cardi B's song, she still called women and herself a "bitch" and she talks about "taking your man"; one of her popular lines in her song is "Im a
boss you're a worker bitch". Although many have criticized Bodak yellow as being degrading to women, realistically in todays society her song
wouldn't have been a huge hit if she didn't use terms like "bitch" or put herself against women. I also feel that in todays society women are often put
up against each other, instead of valuing each other and helping each other reach our goals, women often see other women as competition and because
of this reason Bodak Yellow was number one because not only did it appeal to men but it also related to many women who see other women as a
competition. In the television industry, women are often over sexualized, they show what a woman should look like and also show what roles women
should have in our society. For example, in the film we saw on Monday, Flirting

Joseph Jefferson's Impact On The Entertainment Industry
Joseph Jefferson's career consist of quite a collection works , that powerfully but positively impacted the entertainment industry during his time. Joseph
Jefferson was one of the greatest in his field during his lifetime and is still respected today by some for his great works, appearances, and contributions
to the entertainment industry. Joseph was born into entertainment because of his father being an actor, so he was a natural, born with excellent acting
and performing skills. He led a great successful life leaving behind an extraordinary legacy behind as this paper will go in depth about. To explain not

With the technology they had at the time Joseph effectively used his gifted talents in the way of acting to but on amusing and enjoyable works of
art for people of all ages to partake in and enjoy. Short scenes were necessitated by the very crude motion picture photography of the day. There was
no sound, and no title cards. The performers worked in pantomime. Joseph was an extremely likeable guy because of both his works and just in
how approachable he was, he was unlike actors today and took time to not only acknowledge his fans but to also interact with them on more of a
friendly personal level. He was so likable that people would flock to his shows, plays, and performances not only for his well known "Rip Van
Winkle" but just to see him perform because they liked him and enjoyed his warm presence.Joseph was so friendly and approachable mainly
because he was such a humble person he wouldn't just rub his extraordinary skills and plays and accomplishments in people's faces, he would sit
down and chat and joke with his fans and admirers. While sitting down with fans they would compliment him and say things like, "hey your works
are amazing I really enjoy them and wish I could be as great and accomplish something similar". Instead of letting it go to his head though and
boast about himself, he would continue being humble and say of their nothing really and inspire others saying they could make arts just as well as
he could if they tried. His actions of kindness and humbleness, made people drawn to him and would literally bring people out of their houses just to
see his performances. Jefferson was also a great role model because of his personality and his actions, so much so that a fellow actor even said that he
set the standard for their line of work. This caused him and many others to both respect and look up to

Entertainment In The Media Industry
Entertainment Entertainment in media industry is used in a lot of forms as film, print, radio, and television. These forms include movies, TV shows,
radio shows, news, music, newspapers, magazines, and books. Entertainment in these forms could be not only used in free time, actually some people
tend to use TV shows, radio shows, movies, news, music, newspapers, books, and magazines to educate themselves in a fun way by using these forms
of media and entertainment in the way they need. People think when they watch and listen or read to these kinds of entertainment that it is easily
done, actually all media forms when it is finally produced seem like it is so fun and we can all do that, but it is maybe the hardest industry to work
in it, and it is a really hard job to do is work in a company that works for giving entertainment for their audience and fans. Nowadays, $703 billion

Movies As A Significant Role In The Entertainment Industry
According to Barbra Dozier's blog, movies play a significant role in the entertainment industry. They are appealing to the viewer's eyes and ears
because they combine both video and audio and they can be watched at home, in theatres, and thanks to the latest technology one can even watch
movies on the go. Just like many individuals, I too spend my time watching movies as a form of entertainment. The latest one I watched and enjoyed
was a comedy named The House. Although the movie may have had mediocre reviews, The House was still funny and enjoyable to watch. The plot
and conflict revolve around two struggling parents who cannot afford to send their sure–to–succeed daughter to college after the town's scholarship
program no longer had funding. As result the parents and a friend started an illegal underground casino in his domicile in order to make money before
the time to pay their daughter's tuition came around. The rated R movie directed by Andrew Jay Cohen contains many well known actors such as Will
Ferrell, Amy Poehler, and Jason Mantzoukas.
Although there were well known actors the movie revolved around three. Will Ferrell an Americanactor and comedian known for playing the elf in Elf

Recreation, Poehler brings some of her comical characteristics to the movie making The House much more enjoyable to watch. Jason Mantzoukas,

Pay Structure In The Entertainment Industry. Primarily,
PAY STRUCTURE IN THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY
Primarily, themotivating factor of the entertainment industry is to earn profit for its expansion and development. The directors and the producers tend
to invest upon the characters according to the certainties or uncertainties of the return they foresee to get from them. This makes it very clear, that there
is barely any discrimination in the pay structure of a man and a woman. The media allots roles to the individuals as per the scripts made and the
character required. Also, it pays an individual as per the responsibility and the role assigned. Article 14 of the Indian Constitution states that attaining
equality in its literal sense is not possible, only proportionate equality can be attained. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

LIBERTERIAN THEORY vs. SOCIAL RESPONSBILITY THEORY
The libertarian theory states that people are capable enough to find out and judge good ideas from bad. It further says that an individual is a rational
being and his rational thoughts lead him to differentiate between good and bad. The press ought not to confine anything; even a negative substance
may give information and can settle on better decision in worse situation. Under this theory, media's main purpose is to inform, educate, entertain and
act as a regulator of the government. Libertarian Theory involves a belief that everyone has a right to information.Media is a form of free speech to
the society. There is an enormous liberty to the press and the right to freedom of speech and expression including the freedom of propagation of ideas,
and circulation given to it as there is individualism for press too.
The Social Responsibility theory states that the main role of media is to serve the public. "With power, comes great responsibility." The theory tries to
convey that the media is under a moral obligation to deliver adequate datato citizens for making accurate decisions. Herein, the media is also predicted
to symbolize the diversity of cultures.

The Negative Effects Of Pornography And The Entertainment...
The entertainment industry within the United States is one of the most important businesses in the nation. Many Americans spend their weekends
watching movies on weekends. Meanwhile others stay at home binge–watching their favorite shows on Netflix or Hulu. One of the most controversial
forms of entertainment, however, is known as adult films otherwise known as pornography. Pornography is a very controversial form of entertainment
because of how it negatively affects society today.
In order to understand the negative effects of pornography, the term itself must be properly defined. Britanica.com, one of the world's oldest and
highest rated encyclopedias, states that the word "pornography" can be derived from the Greek word porni graphein which means "any work of art or
literature depicting the life of prostitutes." (Jenkins, 2017) The modern–day English word, according to America's number one dictionary
Meriam–Webster, means "material (such as books or a photograph) that depicts erotic behavior and is intended to cause sexual excitement." These
definitions combined define pornography as any form of media that entertains its viewer with sexually arousing content. With the term properly
defined, the scope of the adult film industry must be fully realized in order to understand how large of an influence it has society. The website
Family Safe Media states on its website that, "Since 1998, Family Safe Media has been dedicated to providing the latest products and services that
can help parents control the media in their homes." One of the services that they have provided is a variety of facts and statistics of pornography that
are gathered from a variety of sources such as the Central Intelligence Agency, The New York Times, PornStudies, and Forbes. One of the most
shocking statistics listed on their website is that over $3,000 is being spent pornographic materials every second. (Pornography Statistics) This means
that every year about ninety–seven billion dollars are spent on pornography every year! Family Safe Media also reports that "US porn revenue
exceeds the combined revenues of ABC, CBS, and NBC." Over 28,000 are viewing the same pornographic materials every second. (Pornography

I haven't had any past involvement, and all I can say is I regret not knowing about this club sooner!
2. Why are you interested in the entertainment industry, specificallyfilm?
My initial interest in entertainment stemmed from the world I grew up in Los Angeles where so many of my neighbors, friend's parents, and just
general social community were involved in all the facets of the industry. As I have gotten older, I have really found an interest in the business behind
film. From film marketing, financing, distribution to studio operations its all so fascinating. This past summer I took a course at UCLA on the
Business of Blockbusters, and I got to see all the business related sides to entrainment, learn about everything from marketing to box office analysis,
and hear from well–qualified and respected professionals from different areas of the entertainment industry.

The Impact Of Computer Animation On The Entertainment...
EE Computer Animation From the very beginning of animation, artists created images on paper of two–dimensional animated characters. As time
progressed, computers became an integral part of people's lives. Technological advancements have allowed animators to use programs online that would
turn a two–dimensional animated character or object into a three–dimensional format. This made it easier for animators to create whatever they wanted.
Without the hassle of paper, these people had a variety of tools to aid their creation. The impact ofcomputer animation on the various entertainment

The Media And Entertainment Industries Essay
In the late nineteenth century, the television (TV) became one of the greatest innovations that was established by numerous individuals, so that the
makers could advance technology through visual and audio communication. This would allow citizens to acquire information from economics and
politics, which would benefit citizens by staying informed about specific topics. However, the media and entertainment industries would eventually
expand their ideas for new channel stations, so that the industries could appeal to a new target audience. This new target audience would emerge as
children between the ages of 3–18, due to the creation of new animations that would entertain and educate children. Considering that children would
have the opportunity to see the world through multiple aspects by cartoons and movies. However, as children kept watching the TV on a daily basis,
parents started to notice that their child's behavior would change for the worst. These types of behaviors were called undesirable behaviors, which
were objectionable by other parents and children, since undesirable behaviors tend to initiate physiological and psychological harm to oneself or to
others. For instance, undesirable behaviors would cause the child to misbehave in school or lead the child to gain an enormous amount of weight that
results in health problems. Therefore, children between the ages of 3–18 who watch an excessive amount of TV will exhibit an increase of undesirable

was kidnapped. I remember I couldn 't see out of the box, and I told them that it was too dark. Then they got a tool and cut a bigger hole in the box so
that I wasn 't scared.
Christian, that means even at the age of five, you weren 't scared to speak up on set and tell the adults about this potential problem. And they listened
to you. That is really a great story. And since that show, it looks like you 've been booking things pretty steadily.
Yes, I am very happy to do every role I 've done. It 's been so much fun!
I wanted to take a moment to highlight the short film you did called Sidekick. How did you book this role?
It was quite a long time ago when I first auditioned for it, but I remember that it was a taped audition, and then I came in for a callback. The writer
/producer {Jeff Cassidy} had worked with me before. He was the cameraman on Cult. So he really wanted me for this role. And when I found out who
the actors were––Emily Bett Rickards is in Arrow!
When did you shoot this film?
It was late spring of last year.

Characteristics Of Hegemonic Masculinity In The...
Entertainment is one of the biggest and most popular industry that can have influence to the audience. From movies, TV shows, and music, one can see
the characteristics of hegemonic masculinity when it comes to gender. Hegemonic masculinity is seen as a standard to define what a "real" man is. It
creates a gender hierarchy, which men that fits the "ideal" masculinity is dominant over the rest of the genders. Women, men who do not fit the
"masculine" characteristics, and others are seen as "feminine" and therefore, inferior. The problem here is that few men and women fit into the ideal
gender, but we were taught and expected to look and behave like that.
Physical appearance is a big thing when it comes to the entertainment industry. Sexualization and objectification occurs in the media especially towards
women. Some of these behaviors would be justified because of this belief. In Erin Hatton and Mary Nell Trautner's article, "Equal Opportunity
Objectification", they talked about the sexualization of men and women. They mention how the media constructs masculinity and femininity. One is
the gender stereotype of the body type a man and woman must have. Men have to be tall, muscular, and strong. Women have to be thin, weak, slender,
and fragile.
They used the magazine, Rolling Stone, which is popular in the music culture to compare the cover images of men and female and the change of
sexualization over the years. Even though both are sexualized, it is different between the

The Rise Of The Adult Entertainment Industry
The rise of the adult entertainment industry has exploded in both popularity and accessibility within the last thirty years as a result of the emergence of
pay–per–view adult movies, pornographic websites, and 1–900 phone lines. The number of topless bars, exotic car washes, X–rated theaters, and
massage parlors in business has boomed greatly. Within this time, United States Supreme Court decisions recognized that First Amendment protection
might very well extend to some types of non–obscene pornography and nude dancing as a form of nonverbal expressive speech (1). Though
consequently, the possibility for such First Amendment right protection paved the way for increases in adult businesses. Although it may seem
unlikely, the fate of First Amendment freedoms is irrevocably linked to the ongoing conflict between the agents administering the adult entertainment
and those who defend public decency. The expansion of adult business have generated intense concern among communities, with many individuals
believing that the proliferation of adult material including X–rated movie viewing facilities, topless bars, and adult bookstores, ultimately threatens
property values, and are morally hazardous to their community (2). As a strong trend to regulate such businesses, governments around the country, and
specifically in North Carolina, have begun to significantly restrict the locations of such adult–oriented establishments. Such regulations put into effect

Overview of the Industry The U.S. media entertainment industry consists of music, film, print, radio and television and is the largest entertainment
industry in the world, producing over $632 billion as of 2015. (SelectUSA) Absorbing entertainment has always been an outlet for the public, whether
economically comfortable or not. People have always saved money to watch a movie in theaters, buy a long–awaited album or splurge on a book.
Entertainment will never cease to be vital fragment for people, but it continues to evolve daily. The indisputable transition the industry as a whole has

Crisis' can occur on national levels and local levels and a publicist must confront the pressures of bending the truth to protect their client, whom is

scenarios for publicists to handle. From tweet–gone–wrong to unacceptable behavior, the question arises for publicists: How will I save my client's
reputation while maintaining my integrity? Public relations professionals don't want to risk their credibility. There are also ethical issues that emerge

The Media And Its Impact On The Entertainment Industry Essay
The mass media has developed into a highly influential platform that relays information to audiences all around the world, but are the images seen in
advertisements and television, devaluing individuals by labeling them under stereotypes? In order to truly understand the core of such a question, it is
important to first define and solidify some key terms. To begin with, what mediums of mass media will be considered in the analysis of this issue?
Specifically, I will attempt to highlight the use of gender stereotypes in the form of visual advertisements, such as magazines and television
commercials. I will also be considering the use of gender stereotypes in the entertainment industry, particularly in the making of TV shows and movies.
The power of the media in transcending gender – related information is well–described by Tom Bogt, an interdisciplinary social science researcher, in
his scholarly article, "Shake It Baby, Shake It," as the fact that the media has become an "important source of knowledge for physical, social, and
emotional aspects" of an individual's development of "sexual attitudes, values, and practices" (Bogt, 844). Bogt emphasizes that advertisements and
media entertainment present "a rather unrealistic and skewed account of human romance and sexuality" and this account is what forms the attenuating
gender stereotypes (Bogt, 844). Now the question arises, what exactly are gender stereotypes? Gender stereotypes are dramatized, overused, and precise

Diversity In The Entertainment Industry
In a study of 414 films and television series, only 33 percent of all characters were women, and only 28 percent were of racial minority status
(Associated Press). Casting diversely in entertainment has been an issue for years and has recently spawned many controversies such as the 2016
Oscar Controversy where an outrage occurred due to a lack of minority Oscar winners. Many cultures and races fell underrepresented and cast aside by
film and television. The entertainment industry should cast more diverse actors because it increases viewership, provides a broader perspective, and
creates a more realistic setting. By casting more diverse actors, the American entertainment industry is able to increase viewership in both television
and film. To begin with, diverse casting allows for higher television show ratings. For example,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To illustrate, shows like Black–ish and Empire, with their predominantly African–American casts, would not be able to tell the unique stories being told
with a cast of all Caucasian actors. Another excellent show that uses diversity correctly is Master of None, a Netflix original series. Master of None is
a relationship comedy that takes place in New York City; Aziz Ansari, an Indian
–American comedian, plays the lead, Dev. What makes this show
noteworthy, however, is the fact that unlike most television series, Dev is not an exaggerated stereotype. Lavanya Ramanathan, a reporter for the
Washington Post, said it best when she stated, "What's extraordinary about Master of None is that its protagonist is a person of color who's simply,
normal" (Ramanathan). He is able to provide a new perspective, but at the same time he does not make himself seem unrelatable; furthermore, the show
addresses this topic by reminding the audience that viewers are able to relate to anthropomorphic animals; thus, the audience surely can relate to people

The Future Entertainment and Innovative Technology Industries
The Future Entertainment and Innovative Technology Industries and My Contribution Within In One day evening, I was all alone in my home, since
everyone was out for their work. The surrounding was almost prepared to give me a sense of loneliness. But I was not; I was in front of my television
and enjoying a dancing performance. I think that gave me the real sense of entertainment. As per my opinion, I think entertainment is any event, thing
or a situation that brings an audience, a pleasure and delight. In the ancient world, there were very few needs and wants for a community. But with the
miracle of time, those few needs and wants rapidly increased among humans, therefor human lifestyle has become complicated. As a result, the needs of
being entertained have become much more important. People spend a considerable amount of their time and money to entertain them. Entertainment
industry is comprised of movies, music, arts, games and much more. Over the time, it has become so much improved and qualified by many means.
Out of them, much support has been given from innovative technology. Technology can be defined simply as using certain knowledge through tools,
machines or systems in order to perform a specific function. Technology was discovered since ancient eras by ancient people, eg: discovering the
wheel, generating fire, liver etc. Those minute steps have been developed up to unbelievable technological discoveries in the future. It has now

Seaworld's Abuse Of Animals In The Entertainment Industry
Throughout the years, we have been made to believe that wildlife in the entertainment industry is captivating. Even though these animals may seem to
be happy and healthy, the truth is the majority of these animals suffer a great amount of abuse. SeaWorld and the Circus have made a name for
themselves, by claiming that he/she provides a safe a friendly environment. However, what is not shown during these performance acts is the abuse
these animals suffer, or the amount of stress and anxiety the animals are under. Wildlife in captivity for exotic animals can cause a serious amount of
stress along with abuse, anxiety which can lead to a fatal result for the animals and the people who take care of them. Since the 1960s, SeaWorld
has captured wild orcas' for their main events. However, what SeaWorld does not disclose in the events, is how they come into possession of these

that create different movies and television shows; others compete in the realm of music. The video game industry is yet another aspect of the
entertainment industry. Two companies stand tall as the number one and two competitors within the heap. Sony and Microsoft have separated
themselves from amongst the pack as the leaders to watch within this generation of the console wars. Sony used a much better strategy to get their
system in front of the masses and off to a stronger start. However, Microsoft has made a number of changes that has helped push momentum back in
their direction. The first aspect of this conversation is to understand exactly what both parties are currently bringing to the table. At this time, video
game players are enjoying what is considered the 8th generation of video game consoles. Both companies have created new products that are very
powerful and very expensive gaming systems. For Microsoft, they have their Xbox One, which is their third gaming system since entering the
industry. Sony is currently pushing the PlayStation 4 which is their fourth console. Each of these platforms is very similar with their structure set up.

Satire In The Entertainment Industry
Why is it that people are so attracted to all forms of entertainment? Is there a greater purpose behind all those hours spent glued to screens? In the
media, satirical entertainment has emerged as a force revealing truths. Merriam Webster defines satire as "a literary work holding up human vices and
follies to ridicule or scorn". The role of satire in the entertainment industry is to expose the weaknesses and corruption in society. Entertainment does
not have the capacity to "ruin" society; entertainment simply reflects society because it engages and appeals to the common experiences of the
audience. Throughout civilization, entertainment is used to reveal the true nature of individuals. It can only be assumed that those who object to
satirical forms of entertainment must have faults that they fear will be brought to light. Prominent figures in the nineteenth and twentieth century
despised satire. Rulers during those times were cautious of entertainment dissolving "the ties of our social order" through citizens recognizing the
corruption around them and rebelling. A form of entertainment that has been around for centuries is the political cartoon. Political cartoons utilize
parody and caricature in an effort to interest and educate an audience. Throughout history, these cartoons have been used to... Show more content on

Stereotypes In The Entertainment Industry
The assumption is that by 2015 the world must be more informed and more tolerant to different ethnicities, when in reality entertainment plays a vital
role in also satisfying stereotypes people are familiar with. There has not been much done to teach people to accept the differences among ethnicities
and cultural backgrounds. Unfortunately, this era has victimized the Arabs and the Arabic culture. What is more is the fact that the Arab world is
suffering from the aftermath. Now, more so than ever, the entertainment industry should be more compassionate instead of adding fuel to the fire with
the incorrect portrayal of Arabs. Shaheen says, "The Arab remains American culture's favorite whipping boy" (1984). This just demonstrates how the...

The U.S. applies that strategy when it comes to broadcasting news about the Middle East. This goes to show that the media is in control of biases that
are developed against certain ethnicities. For example, news broadcasters always cover stories about terrorists and associate the word terrorism with the
word "Islam" or "Muslim". There is rarely ever any positive light shed on the Muslims in news channels. For example, if a man were to save another
person, the broadcast would be titled "Man saves man" without emphasizing his background or race. On the other hand, in circumstances where a man
is responsible for a bombing, the title would include his race, as if it had something to do with the story. News broadcasters manage to make a
façade out of these stories, which continually contribute to making a race or ethnicity categorized in the public eye. They have the power to enlighten
and justly represent people to the public, but because it is a multi–billion dollar industry, news channels support the nationalities and ethnicities of the

The Negative Effects of the Entertainment Industry
Is entertainment destroying or benefiting modern society? There is no doubt that entertainment is the main source of amusement for many today. It is
used in almost every common man's daily life, from watching TV to listening to the news. However, entertainment has unfortunately become deeply
saturated in people's lives, to the point where it is no longer healthy or beneficial. The utilization of entertainment has become an addiction, thus giving
it the capability to annihilate society. From the adult industry to television shows, one conclusion is inescapable" entertainment is, indeed, a dangerous
tool. The adult–entertainment industry erupted in the late twentieth century and has expanded recently due to improved technology. Millions of
men and women alike watch these films and arrive to the conception that what is portrayed on the screen is how a relationship should be. In a
recent article in the New York Times, it was reported that 80% of men and 50% of women feel that their sex life is lacking due to pornography, and
40% of the people within the same poll have broken up with their spouse or partner due to the "lack" of love life. Clearly, the adult entertainment
gives both genders a false conception of how a relationship and sex life should be. Pornography portrays sex as overly exciting and thrilling, which
can lead to dissatisfaction with one's partner. Such a situation can cause a rift between couples that can result in divorce and break–ups, which leads to

Caribbean Entertainment Industry

  • 1. Caribbean Entertainment Industry As we know it, the Entertainment Industry has changed numerous lives in America and the world as a whole. This market has an influential impact on most lives today, by the way of our emotions and perception. We lean to music as our comfort as different artists impact differently; listening to Trey Songs at the end of a relationship and Barry White to set the mood. It is safe to our lives revolve around what goes on in the entertainment industry. The Caribbean has tried on many occasions to produce award winning films,Third World Cop in 1999, Shottas in 2002, Dancehall Queen in 1997, just to name a few. However, those films only left a mark on neighboring countries and a few places in America with Caribbean decent. Attempts were made to produce music and sitcoms which impressed the world but not for a long period; example Dwayne Bravo's "Champion" and to those who remember, "Westwood Park." It is to say that if the Caribbean was to introduce film making, would be a successful business opportunity, one however that will face many callenges. Batman vs Superman, Dawn of Justice, was an incredible movie and left a few heads thinking, if the Caribbean should invest in such industry to catch the world's attention. There are many factors which needs to be taken into consideration to make a decision. Many would ask themselves, "what would be so hard in a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 2. The Use Of Quantum Mechanics On The Entertainment Industry Without the help of quantum mechanics, life would be almost unrecognizable when compared to what it looks like it does today. It is incorporated into nearly every aspect of modern life, many of which are taken for granted. The entertainment industry is no different. Everything from TVs and DVD and Blu–ray players to video game consoles and even some types of stage lights would not be made possible without the use of quantum mechanics. Without the discovery of quantum mechanics, the entertainment industry would be nothing like the industry of today. DVD Blu–ray players are a relatively new innovation when it comes to home entertainment and could not be made possible without their quantum mechanics inspired laser technology. Lasers work by utilizing Schrodinger's equation to predict where an electron is at any given moment. When atoms are excited, their electrons gain energy and move up an energy level, and when the electrons return to their initial energy level, they release photons causing light to be emitted. The light of a laser is only one color because it is only made up of one wavelength. The photons of a laser are all concentrated into a small beam, making it strong unlike the beams of regular light. Both devices work when a laser reads pits or marks on the disk which the machine then interprets into a movie or video game. Where DVD and Blu–ray differ however, is the marks on a Blu–ray disk are much smaller and therefore requires a better and more precise laser to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Video Games Have Become A Real Influence On The Curriculum... Through the decades, the video game industry has rapidly improved the technology to home gaming. Video games have become a real influence on the curriculum of the modern entertainment industry. Video game campaigns have a very strategized, but hidden way of luring people to buy their product. I believe that the way that they use social influence like Facebook or twitter to spread the word that their new video game is coming. Social influence is a huge way to advertise and seduce the video game obsessed population to purchase their product. They also seem to use perception and sensation during commercials as they show previews of the game and start the new upgrades to last year 's game. Furthermore, they show critics ' reviews in big bold letters to show the audience that these big name brands like Ubisoft, Konami, and Capcom who support the game. The advanced technology of vibration and action make it hard for young video game entrepreneurs not to buy the new game. People can also be influenced by stress and emotion.Video game campaigners use scientific studies on how video games affect psychological disorders and they make sure to state those studies in the commercials and reviews on the new games. As you can see psychology has a lot to do with our everyday lives, and with companies trying to attract their target audience. Some video games help psychological disorders such as autism, anxiety depression and PTSD. Jeff Cattel states that "Developers have already designed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Hollywood And The American Entertainment Industry Since its inception, Hollywood and the American entertainment industry have had an unprecedented amount of influence over popular culture. America has set the standard in media, and its citizens look to Hollywood not only for entertainment, but also for societal norms. Ideally, the content being produced would place emphasis on developing complex characters from a multitude of backgrounds that diverse audiences can relate to, and include people with different perspectives to contribute to writing, directing, producing, and acting. But the reality is Hollywood has historically revolved around narratives written by and featuring white, straight men. However, my main caregiver was my mother, and this meant being surrounded with Japanese culture at home. Growing up in between these different cultures and being an avid pop culture consumer has made me more in–tune to how people of color–specifically Japanese or Asian people–are portrayed in films and television and how my white peers interacted with it and reacted to it. Before understanding how depictions of people of color in film and television affect how audiences view race, what must first be considered is how people of color are being represented both on and off screen. In an article discussing diversity in cultural production, Dr. Maryann Erigha, an assistant professor of sociology at the University of Memphis, presents three types of representation to examine: numerical representation, the number of people from a specific group that are working either on–screen or behind–the–scene jobs; quality of representation, what kinds of roles are groups filling; and centrality of representation, how central groups are to the industry's main institutions (Erigha). The simplest way of examining the numerical representation for marginalized groups in Hollywood is to compare the amount of people from a specific group that are working in the industry to that same group's representative percentage of the American population. A study conducted in 2014 by UCLA analyzed 172 films released in 2011 and 1061 TV shows aired in the 2011 –12 season. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Gender In The Entertainment Industry Throughout the years, the entertainment industry has had many effects on society such showing us what are societies expectations. One huge factor that the entertainment industry affects is how gender is constructed and how hegemonic masculinity is part of our gender narrative in the US. In mainstream media, ranging from music to television, we usually see or hear women taking roles as someone is weaker or doesn't have the same power as men. In the music industry, women are shown as objects or property. In todays culture the music genre that has taken over our generation is rap and hip hop. Some of the most popular male rappers are Snoop Dog, Ice Cube, The Game and many others. These rappers have one thing in common in their music when it comes to talking about females, which is degrading women. Their lyrics usually consists of calling women "bitches" or "hoes" or any other word that demeans women. Recently, a new rapper has come up and many praise her for being a female rapper and being on the billboards number 1 spot for her song Bodak Yellow and her name is Cardi B. Cardi B song talks about how she raised up fro being a stripper to now an artist known worldwide. Although many love her song, feminist's wish that she could of made her art without bring other women down. In Cardi B's song, she still called women and herself a "bitch" and she talks about "taking your man"; one of her popular lines in her song is "Im a boss you're a worker bitch". Although many have criticized Bodak yellow as being degrading to women, realistically in todays society her song wouldn't have been a huge hit if she didn't use terms like "bitch" or put herself against women. I also feel that in todays society women are often put up against each other, instead of valuing each other and helping each other reach our goals, women often see other women as competition and because of this reason Bodak Yellow was number one because not only did it appeal to men but it also related to many women who see other women as a competition. In the television industry, women are often over sexualized, they show what a woman should look like and also show what roles women should have in our society. For example, in the film we saw on Monday, Flirting ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. Movies As A Significant Role In The Entertainment Industry According to Barbra Dozier's blog, movies play a significant role in the entertainment industry. They are appealing to the viewer's eyes and ears because they combine both video and audio and they can be watched at home, in theatres, and thanks to the latest technology one can even watch movies on the go. Just like many individuals, I too spend my time watching movies as a form of entertainment. The latest one I watched and enjoyed was a comedy named The House. Although the movie may have had mediocre reviews, The House was still funny and enjoyable to watch. The plot and conflict revolve around two struggling parents who cannot afford to send their sure–to–succeed daughter to college after the town's scholarship program no longer had funding. As result the parents and a friend started an illegal underground casino in his domicile in order to make money before the time to pay their daughter's tuition came around. The rated R movie directed by Andrew Jay Cohen contains many well known actors such as Will Ferrell, Amy Poehler, and Jason Mantzoukas. Although there were well known actors the movie revolved around three. Will Ferrell an Americanactor and comedian known for playing the elf in Elf ,played the father Scott Johansen. • 12. The Negative Effects Of Pornography And The Entertainment... The entertainment industry within the United States is one of the most important businesses in the nation. Many Americans spend their weekends watching movies on weekends. Meanwhile others stay at home binge–watching their favorite shows on Netflix or Hulu. One of the most controversial forms of entertainment, however, is known as adult films otherwise known as pornography. Pornography is a very controversial form of entertainment because of how it negatively affects society today. In order to understand the negative effects of pornography, the term itself must be properly defined. Britanica.com, one of the world's oldest and highest rated encyclopedias, states that the word "pornography" can be derived from the Greek word porni graphein which means "any work of art or literature depicting the life of prostitutes." (Jenkins, 2017) The modern–day English word, according to America's number one dictionary Meriam–Webster, means "material (such as books or a photograph) that depicts erotic behavior and is intended to cause sexual excitement." These definitions combined define pornography as any form of media that entertains its viewer with sexually arousing content. With the term properly defined, the scope of the adult film industry must be fully realized in order to understand how large of an influence it has society. The website Family Safe Media states on its website that, "Since 1998, Family Safe Media has been dedicated to providing the latest products and services that can help parents control the media in their homes." One of the services that they have provided is a variety of facts and statistics of pornography that are gathered from a variety of sources such as the Central Intelligence Agency, The New York Times, PornStudies, and Forbes. One of the most shocking statistics listed on their website is that over $3,000 is being spent pornographic materials every second. (Pornography Statistics) This means that every year about ninety–seven billion dollars are spent on pornography every year! Family Safe Media also reports that "US porn revenue exceeds the combined revenues of ABC, CBS, and NBC." Over 28,000 are viewing the same pornographic materials every second. • 21. The Media And Entertainment Industries Essay In the late nineteenth century, the television (TV) became one of the greatest innovations that was established by numerous individuals, so that the makers could advance technology through visual and audio communication. This would allow citizens to acquire information from economics and politics, which would benefit citizens by staying informed about specific topics. However, the media and entertainment industries would eventually expand their ideas for new channel stations, so that the industries could appeal to a new target audience. This new target audience would emerge as children between the ages of 3–18, due to the creation of new animations that would entertain and educate children. Considering that children would have the opportunity to see the world through multiple aspects by cartoons and movies. However, as children kept watching the TV on a daily basis, parents started to notice that their child's behavior would change for the worst. These types of behaviors were called undesirable behaviors, which were objectionable by other parents and children, since undesirable behaviors tend to initiate physiological and psychological harm to oneself or to others. For instance, undesirable behaviors would cause the child to misbehave in school or lead the child to gain an enormous amount of weight that results in health problems. Therefore, children between the ages of 3–18 who watch an excessive amount of TV will exhibit an increase of undesirable behaviors that will ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

From movies, TV shows, and music, one can see the characteristics of hegemonic masculinity when it comes to gender. Hegemonic masculinity is seen as a standard to define what a "real" man is. It creates a gender hierarchy, which men that fits the "ideal" masculinity is dominant over the rest of the genders. Women, men who do not fit the "masculine" characteristics, and others are seen as "feminine" and therefore, inferior. The problem here is that few men and women fit into the ideal gender, but we were taught and expected to look and behave like that. Physical appearance is a big thing when it comes to the entertainment industry. Sexualization and objectification occurs in the media especially towards women. Some of these behaviors would be justified because of this belief. In Erin Hatton and Mary Nell Trautner's article, "Equal Opportunity Objectification", they talked about the sexualization of men and women. They mention how the media constructs masculinity and femininity. One is the gender stereotype of the body type a man and woman must have. Men have to be tall, muscular, and strong. Women have to be thin, weak, slender, and fragile. They used the magazine, Rolling Stone, which is popular in the music culture to compare the cover images of men and female and the change of sexualization over the years. The Rise Of The Adult Entertainment Industry The rise of the adult entertainment industry has exploded in both popularity and accessibility within the last thirty years as a result of the emergence of pay–per–view adult movies, pornographic websites, and 1–900 phone lines. The number of topless bars, exotic car washes, X–rated theaters, and massage parlors in business has boomed greatly. Within this time, United States Supreme Court decisions recognized that First Amendment protection might very well extend to some types of non–obscene pornography and nude dancing as a form of nonverbal expressive speech (1). Though consequently, the possibility for such First Amendment right protection paved the way for increases in adult businesses. Although it may seem unlikely, the fate of First Amendment freedoms is irrevocably linked to the ongoing conflict between the agents administering the adult entertainment and those who defend public decency. The expansion of adult business have generated intense concern among communities, with many individuals believing that the proliferation of adult material including X–rated movie viewing facilities, topless bars, and adult bookstores, ultimately threatens property values, and are morally hazardous to their community (2). The Media And Its Impact On The Entertainment Industry Essay The mass media has developed into a highly influential platform that relays information to audiences all around the world, but are the images seen in advertisements and television, devaluing individuals by labeling them under stereotypes? In order to truly understand the core of such a question, it is important to first define and solidify some key terms. To begin with, what mediums of mass media will be considered in the analysis of this issue? Specifically, I will attempt to highlight the use of gender stereotypes in the form of visual advertisements, such as magazines and television commercials. I will also be considering the use of gender stereotypes in the entertainment industry, particularly in the making of TV shows and movies. The power of the media in transcending gender – related information is well–described by Tom Bogt, an interdisciplinary social science researcher, in his scholarly article, "Shake It Baby, Shake It," as the fact that the media has become an "important source of knowledge for physical, social, and emotional aspects" of an individual's development of "sexual attitudes, values, and practices" (Bogt, 844). Bogt emphasizes that advertisements and media entertainment present "a rather unrealistic and skewed account of human romance and sexuality" and this account is what forms the attenuating gender stereotypes (Bogt, 844). • 34. Satire In The Entertainment Industry Why is it that people are so attracted to all forms of entertainment? Is there a greater purpose behind all those hours spent glued to screens? In the media, satirical entertainment has emerged as a force revealing truths. Merriam Webster defines satire as "a literary work holding up human vices and follies to ridicule or scorn". The role of satire in the entertainment industry is to expose the weaknesses and corruption in society. Entertainment does not have the capacity to "ruin" society; entertainment simply reflects society because it engages and appeals to the common experiences of the audience. Throughout civilization, entertainment is used to reveal the true nature of individuals. It can only be assumed that those who object to satirical forms of entertainment must have faults that they fear will be brought to light.
