comparing and/or contrasting the selected three groups from both student A and Student B.
What similarities or differences? How did they justify their responses?
STUDENT A: The three groups that I feel are most vulnerable based on statistical data and
trends are the
Elderly population
People with disabilities
Lower-income populations
The elderly population is vulnerable due to their age and potential for chronic health
conditions, as well as the fact that they have limited access to healthcare due to insurance
coverage or other financial issues. Furthermore, they may have difficulty adhering to health
protocols due to their age. People with disabilities may be more vulnerable due to physical
and/or mental limitations. This could make it more difficult for them to practice proper
hygiene, access care, and adhere to health protocols. Lower-income populations are more
vulnerable because they may have limited access to healthcare, have difficulty affording
health insurance, and have difficulty obtaining preventive healthcare services. Additionally,
they may not have the resources to practice proper hygiene or adhere to health protocols.
To determine the three most vulnerable populations, I used data from studies and reports
that looked at the prevalence of the conditions in each group, as well as the access to
healthcare and resources among each group. This data helped to identify the groups that
are the most at risk and in need of additional support.
The World Health Organization's definition of health includes physical, mental, and social
aspects. The elderly population, people with disabilities, and lower-income populations are
all compromised in these areas. The physical health of these groups can be compromised
due to age or disability, which can lead to chronic health conditions, limited access to
healthcare, or difficulty adhering to health protocols. The mental health of these groups is
typically compromised due to the stress and anxiety associated with limited access to
healthcare, difficulty affording health services, or difficulty following health protocols. The
social health of these groups is typically compromised due to limited access to healthcare,
limited resources, or difficulty accessing preventive healthcare services.
For the elderly population, health service needs could include access to affordable health
insurance, access to preventive healthcare services, and access to resources that can help
them adhere to health protocols. For people with disabilities, health service needs could
include access to resources that can help them practice proper hygiene, access to health
services that are tailored to their needs, and access to counseling services to help them
manage the stress of their disability. For lower-income populations, health service needs
could include access to affordable health insurance, access to resources that can help them
practice proper hygiene, and access to preventive healthcare services.
The elderly population, people with disabilities, and lower-income populations are among
the most vulnerable to the effects of the health crisis. This is due to various factors,
including limited access to healthcare, difficulty affording health insurance, difficulty
obtaining preventive healthcare services, and difficulty adhering to health protocols. The
elderly population is particularly vulnerable due to their age and potential for chronic
health conditions. As people age, they tend to experience more chronic health conditions
and illnesses. This, combined with their limited access to healthcare and difficulty affording
health insurance, makes them particularly vulnerable. Additionally, due to their age, they
may have difficulty adhering to health protocols, further increasing their risk.
People with disabilities are also particularly vulnerable due to physical and/or mental
limitations. This can make it more difficult for them to practice proper hygiene, access care,
and adhere to health protocols. Additionally, due to the stigma associated with disabilities,
they may experience difficulty accessing healthcare services and resources. Lower-income
populations are also particularly vulnerable due to their limited access to healthcare,
difficulty affording health insurance, and difficulty obtaining preventive healthcare services.
Additionally, they may not have the resources to practice proper hygiene or adhere to
health protocols. This further increases their risk of contracting illnesses. Furthermore, due
to their financial circumstances, they may be unable to take time off of work to take care of
themselves or seek medical care. To identify the three most vulnerable populations, data
from studies and reports that looked at the prevalence of the conditions in each group, as
well as the access to healthcare and resources among each group, was used. This data
helped to identify the groups that are the most at risk and in need of additional support.
Furthermore, data was also used to look at trends in each population and determine which
populations had the highest rates of illness and the greatest difficulty accessing healthcare.
To ensure that these vulnerable populations receive the care they need, healthcare
providers, public health officials, and policymakers must take action to ensure that they
have access to the services and resources they need. This includes providing them with
access to care, providing financial assistance to help them pay for health insurance, and
providing them with resources to help them adhere to health protocols. Additionally,
healthcare providers should be aware of the special needs of these populations to provide
them with the best care possible. Ultimately, it is important to recognize the unique needs of
these vulnerable populations to ensure that they receive the care they need. By
understanding the data and trends related to these populations, healthcare providers,
public health officials, and policymakers can take the necessary steps to ensure that they
are protected and provided with the care they need.
The World Health Organization's definition of health includes physical, mental, and social
aspects. The elderly population, people with disabilities, and lower-income populations are
all compromised in these areas. The physical health of these groups can be compromised
due to age or disability. Elderly people may be more prone to chronic health conditions due
to the natural aging process. People with disabilities may experience physical impairments
that can lead to additional health complications. People in lower-income populations may
not have access to proper healthcare, nutrition, or exercise, which can lead to physical
health complications. The mental health of these groups is typically compromised due to the
stress and anxiety associated with limited access to healthcare, difficulty affording health
services, or difficulty following health protocols. Elderly people may be more susceptible to
depression or anxiety due to their age, and people with disabilities may experience
difficulty managing their condition due to the stress it can cause. Lower-income populations
may experience increased levels of depression or anxiety due to their financial situation and
the lack of access to healthcare or other resources. The social health of these groups is
typically compromised due to limited access to healthcare, limited resources, or difficulty
accessing preventive healthcare services. Elderly people may experience feelings of
isolation due to their age, and people with disabilities may feel excluded due to the lack of
access to resources that can help them manage their condition. Lower-income populations
may feel excluded due to the lack of resources available to them, and they may not have
access to preventive healthcare services due to their financial situation.
For the elderly population, health service needs could include access to affordable health
insurance, access to preventive healthcare services, and access to resources that can help
them adhere to health protocols. Access to affordable health insurance is important for the
elderly population, as they may not have the resources to pay for the services they need. It
is also important to ensure that they have access to preventive healthcare services, as this
can help to reduce the risks of chronic health conditions. Additionally, access to resources
that can help them adhere to health protocols is important, as this can help to reduce the
risk of infection. For people with disabilities, health service needs could include access to
resources that can help them practice proper hygiene, access to health services that are
tailored to their needs, and access to counseling services to help them manage the stress of
their disability. Access to resources that can help people with disabilities practice proper
hygiene is important, as this can help to reduce the risk of infection. Access to health
services tailored to their needs is also important, as this can help to ensure that they are
receiving the care they need. Access to counseling services is important as well, as this can
help them to manage the stress associated with their disability. For lower-income
populations, health service needs could include access to affordable health insurance, access
to resources that can help them practice proper hygiene, and access to preventive
healthcare services. Access to affordable health insurance is important for lower-income
populations, as this can help to ensure that they have access to the services they need.
Access to resources that can help them practice proper hygiene is important as well, as this
can help to reduce the risk of infection. Lastly, access to preventive healthcare services is
important for lower-income populations, as this can help to reduce the risk of chronic
health conditions.
Student B: First, let us discuss what is vulnerability. Vulnerability is "A person's risk level,
based on the factors such as environment, education, resources, and finances" (Burkholder,
D. M., et., al. 2014). When it comes to vulnerable mothers and children, I feel that they
received a reduced amount of care. Having children in this day and age has caused a lot of
people to kind of turn a blinds eye to certain care needs. When it comes to pregnancy.
Currently working with the healthcare system I have seen the amount of NICU babies and
deaths of mommies increase. According to research "women lack access to maternal
healthcare services, experience discrimination, and are often left to care for children during
these crises. This instability has contributed to high levels of maternal and child mortality"
(Women and Children Are the Most Vulnerable in a Weak Health System, n.d.). The reading
showed many years where there was a peak in "teen childbirths in 1991" (Burkholder, D.
M., et., al. 2014).
The next population that I believe is most vulnerable is the chronically ill and disabled
population. The reason being is that there aren't enough doctors and nurses to care for
these individuals. According to the reading "heart disease was responsible for 26.6% of all
registered deaths in 2005" (Burkholder, D. M., et., al. 2014). There are more numbers and
stats showing that due to being chronically ill and disabled there is a higher chance for a
person to be sick more often and even leading to death.
Lastly, the population that I feel is also vulnerable is those diagnosed with mental health. In
my previous course, I found that mental health is now starting to be a diagnosis that is being
investigated closely. There has been more awareness brought about by these patients and
their treatment. There are not many places for a patient to get treated. The reading shows
that "estimates indicate that one-quarter of the adult population experiences some form of
mental health disruption within a given year" (Burkholder, D. M., et., al. 2014). We can see
that there is "a positive trend in access to those services" (Burkholder, D. M., et., al. 2014). In
all three groups, one physical, mental, and social aspect of health is compromised. The
reason being is that most of the time there is no control over how the illness or diagnoses
will go. Being chronically ill can cause more issues that cause deuteriation to one's body,
mind, and speech. Having a baby can mean life or death for both mommy and baby. Mental
illness can cause a person to be off balance in thoughts and logic.

How did they justify their responses? STUDENT A: The three groups that I feel are most vulnerable based on statistical data and trends are the Elderly population People with disabilities Lower-income populations The elderly population is vulnerable due to their age and potential for chronic health conditions, as well as the fact that they have limited access to healthcare due to insurance coverage or other financial issues. Furthermore, they may have difficulty adhering to health protocols due to their age. People with disabilities may be more vulnerable due to physical and/or mental limitations. This could make it more difficult for them to practice proper hygiene, access care, and adhere to health protocols. Lower-income populations are more vulnerable because they may have limited access to healthcare, have difficulty affording health insurance, and have difficulty obtaining preventive healthcare services. Additionally, they may not have the resources to practice proper hygiene or adhere to health protocols. To determine the three most vulnerable populations, I used data from studies and reports that looked at the prevalence of the conditions in each group, as well as the access to healthcare and resources among each group. This data helped to identify the groups that are the most at risk and in need of additional support. The World Health Organization's definition of health includes physical, mental, and social aspects. The elderly population, people with disabilities, and lower-income populations are all compromised in these areas. The physical health of these groups can be compromised due to age or disability, which can lead to chronic health conditions, limited access to healthcare, or difficulty adhering to health protocols. The mental health of these groups is typically compromised due to the stress and anxiety associated with limited access to healthcare, difficulty affording health services, or difficulty following health protocols. The social health of these groups is typically compromised due to limited access to healthcare, limited resources, or difficulty accessing preventive healthcare services. For the elderly population, health service needs could include access to affordable health insurance, access to preventive healthcare services, and access to resources that can help them adhere to health protocols. For lower-income populations, health service needs could include access to affordable health insurance, access to resources that can help them practice proper hygiene, and access to preventive healthcare services. The elderly population, people with disabilities, and lower-income populations are among the most vulnerable to the effects of the health crisis. This is due to various factors, including limited access to healthcare, difficulty affording health insurance, difficulty obtaining preventive healthcare services, and difficulty adhering to health protocols. The elderly population is particularly vulnerable due to their age and potential for chronic health conditions. As people age, they tend to experience more chronic health conditions and illnesses. This, combined with their limited access to healthcare and difficulty affording health insurance, makes them particularly vulnerable. Additionally, due to their age, they may have difficulty adhering to health protocols, further increasing their risk. People with disabilities are also particularly vulnerable due to physical and/or mental limitations. This can make it more difficult for them to practice proper hygiene, access care, and adhere to health protocols. Additionally, due to the stigma associated with disabilities, they may experience difficulty accessing healthcare services and resources. Lower-income populations are also particularly vulnerable due to their limited access to healthcare, difficulty affording health insurance, and difficulty obtaining preventive healthcare services. Additionally, they may not have the resources to practice proper hygiene or adhere to health protocols. This further increases their risk of contracting illnesses. Furthermore, due to their financial circumstances, they may be unable to take time off of work to take care of themselves or seek medical care. To identify the three most vulnerable populations, data from studies and reports that looked at the prevalence of the conditions in each group, as well as the access to healthcare and resources among each group, was used. This data helped to identify the groups that are the most at risk and in need of additional support. Furthermore, data was also used to look at trends in each population and determine which populations had the highest rates of illness and the greatest difficulty accessing healthcare. To ensure that these vulnerable populations receive the care they need, healthcare providers, public health officials, and policymakers must take action to ensure that they have access to the services and resources they need. This includes providing them with access to care, providing financial assistance to help them pay for health insurance, and providing them with resources to help them adhere to health protocols. Additionally, healthcare providers should be aware of the special needs of these populations to provide them with the best care possible. Ultimately, it is important to recognize the unique needs of these vulnerable populations to ensure that they receive the care they need. By understanding the data and trends related to these populations, healthcare providers, public health officials, and policymakers can take the necessary steps to ensure that they are protected and provided with the care they need. The World Health Organization's definition of health includes physical, mental, and social aspects. The elderly population, people with disabilities, and lower-income populations are all compromised in these areas. The physical health of these groups can be compromised due to age or disability. Elderly people may be more prone to chronic health conditions due
  • 3. to the natural aging process. People with disabilities may experience physical impairments that can lead to additional health complications. People in lower-income populations may not have access to proper healthcare, nutrition, or exercise, which can lead to physical health complications. The mental health of these groups is typically compromised due to the stress and anxiety associated with limited access to healthcare, difficulty affording health services, or difficulty following health protocols. Elderly people may be more susceptible to depression or anxiety due to their age, and people with disabilities may experience difficulty managing their condition due to the stress it can cause. Lower-income populations may experience increased levels of depression or anxiety due to their financial situation and the lack of access to healthcare or other resources. The social health of these groups is typically compromised due to limited access to healthcare, limited resources, or difficulty accessing preventive healthcare services. Elderly people may experience feelings of isolation due to their age, and people with disabilities may feel excluded due to the lack of access to resources that can help them manage their condition. Lower-income populations may feel excluded due to the lack of resources available to them, and they may not have access to preventive healthcare services due to their financial situation. For the elderly population, health service needs could include access to affordable health insurance, access to preventive healthcare services, and access to resources that can help them adhere to health protocols. Access to affordable health insurance is important for the elderly population, as they may not have the resources to pay for the services they need. It is also important to ensure that they have access to preventive healthcare services, as this can help to reduce the risks of chronic health conditions. Additionally, access to resources that can help them adhere to health protocols is important, as this can help to reduce the risk of infection. For people with disabilities, health service needs could include access to resources that can help them practice proper hygiene, access to health services that are tailored to their needs, and access to counseling services to help them manage the stress of their disability. Access to resources that can help people with disabilities practice proper hygiene is important, as this can help to reduce the risk of infection. Access to health services tailored to their needs is also important, as this can help to ensure that they are receiving the care they need. Access to counseling services is important as well, as this can help them to manage the stress associated with their disability. For lower-income populations, health service needs could include access to affordable health insurance, access to resources that can help them practice proper hygiene, and access to preventive healthcare services. Access to affordable health insurance is important for lower-income populations, as this can help to ensure that they have access to the services they need. Access to resources that can help them practice proper hygiene is important as well, as this can help to reduce the risk of infection. Lastly, access to preventive healthcare services is important for lower-income populations, as this can help to reduce the risk of chronic health conditions. Student B: First, let us discuss what is vulnerability. Vulnerability is "A person's risk level, based on the factors such as environment, education, resources, and finances" (Burkholder, D. M., et., al. 2014). When it comes to vulnerable mothers and children, I feel that they received a reduced amount of care. Having children in this day and age has caused a lot of
  • 4. people to kind of turn a blinds eye to certain care needs. When it comes to pregnancy. Currently working with the healthcare system I have seen the amount of NICU babies and deaths of mommies increase. According to research "women lack access to maternal healthcare services, experience discrimination, and are often left to care for children during these crises. This instability has contributed to high levels of maternal and child mortality" (Women and Children Are the Most Vulnerable in a Weak Health System, n.d.). The reading showed many years where there was a peak in "teen childbirths in 1991" (Burkholder, D. M., et., al. 2014). The next population that I believe is most vulnerable is the chronically ill and disabled population. The reason being is that there aren't enough doctors and nurses to care for these individuals. According to the reading "heart disease was responsible for 26.6% of all registered deaths in 2005" (Burkholder, D. M., et., al. 2014). There are more numbers and stats showing that due to being chronically ill and disabled there is a higher chance for a person to be sick more often and even leading to death. Lastly, the population that I feel is also vulnerable is those diagnosed with mental health. In my previous course, I found that mental health is now starting to be a diagnosis that is being investigated closely. There has been more awareness brought about by these patients and their treatment. There are not many places for a patient to get treated. The reading shows that "estimates indicate that one-quarter of the adult population experiences some form of mental health disruption within a given year" (Burkholder, D. M., et., al. 2014). We can see that there is "a positive trend in access to those services" (Burkholder, D. M., et., al. 2014). In all three groups, one physical, mental, and social aspect of health is compromised. The reason being is that most of the time there is no control over how the illness or diagnoses will go. Being chronically ill can cause more issues that cause deuteriation to one's body, mind, and speech. Having a baby can mean life or death for both mommy and baby. Mental illness can cause a person to be off balance in thoughts and logic.
