2. Born March 21, 1685
- He was part of a seven-generation family of
talented composers and instrumentalists.
-He first began to learn music from his father
until he was orphaned at age 8.
-When orphaned he began living with his
older brother an organist at St. Michael’s
Church.
3. -He married twice
-He had 20 children of which only 9
survived him.
-He was extremely devoted Christian.
This is the inspiration and subject matter
of a large portion of his works.

- Bach once defended his integrity with a duel
when accused of slander
- Bach was jailed for being disrespectful to the
Duke of Weimar by secretly seeking out other
employment.
6. • An inspiration to many. He was known in his lifetime
for being a talented musician and teacher. He did not
receive his notariety for his composition as it is
known today until after his death.
