3. Jump Rope for Heart
Jump Rope for Heart is administered within school
systems by physical education teachers, coaches,
and other instructors. The jump rope events can
be held during physical education classes, after
lunch, or before and after school. During the
program, educators pair jump-roping exercises
with a curriculum that teaches heart-healthy
lifestyle choices and hold a fundraiser that
sponsors children with heart illnesses.
At the organization’s website, www.heart.org,
teachers can find lesson plans and activities
spanning core school subjects that are designed
to teach students about heart health.
