1. Floor Hockey Intramurals start
TODAY. Team Lists and
Schedules have been posted on
the bulletin board outside the
Gym Office.
2. The SCI baseball team started the 2019 season
yesterday with intentions of repeating as Simcoe
County Champs. After winning the title last season,
the coaching staff have expectations of making
members of this year’s team true academic student
athletes.
Baseball in April lived up to its expectations too with
a high of only 9 degrees and snow showers.
Nonetheless, students, teachers and parents filled
the stands and cheered on our Spartans ball players.
Unfortunately, the boys dropped the two games to
Banting 7-6 and 4-2.

5. FREE DENTAL SCREENING
Free Dental Screening for Secondary Students
Good oral health is important to a teen’s overall health and well-being. Undetected or untreated dental decay and other oral health
disorders can result in pain, poor eating habits and poor self-esteem – all problems that reduce a teen’s capacity to do well in school.
Dental screening is important for detecting oral health problems.
Oral Health staff from the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit will be visiting your school to provide dental
screenings and distribute smile kits.
Students who choose to participate in a school dental screening will have their teeth looked at by a Registered Dental Hygienist, who
uses a different sterile mouth mirror for each student. The dental hygienist will also answer any questions and share information
about no cost dental programs available to high school students. Please encourage your teen to have a dental screening.
For more information on the program call 705-721-7520 or toll free 1-877-721-7520 ext. 8804 (Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30
p.m.) or visit our website at www.simcoemuskokahealth.org.
