1. The Change Of A Change Leader
I believe that the change that is to occur has a large part on the strategies that a change leader must
use to build employee commitment and buy–in. According to Palmer, Dunford and Akin (2009)
"Getting people to buy–in may depend upon what it is that they are buying into: whether they
perceive it as favorable to them and whether the change had been adequately justified to them"
(p.302). If it was a small change, it doesn't take much to get people to buy–in, but if it is a large
change it will take some work. The first strategy that I would use as a change leader to communicate
a change is to discuss the need for the change. I believe that if people can see why the process needs
to changed, it will open them up to the possibility of a change. I have seen a lot of process done
wrong or a slow way because it was how it has always been done in that organization. If someone
would have come into that organization and told them that the amount of time they were wasting
and showed them the new way, I think the organization would buy–in. The second strategy that I
would use for communicating the change is to provide everyone with accurate information on the
change, it would include how the change is going to happen and how it will affect everyone. I will
only send out information that I feel they need to know so I do not overload them. Palmer, Dunford
and Akin (2009) state "information overload is even more problematic in companies where
participants are already in receipt of a

your remorse and you're throwing yourself upon the mercy of the court. I have reconsidered your

5. Living, Loving, and Learning: Buscaglia Reflection
Living, Loving, and Learning: Buscaglia Reflection While reading Leo Buscaglia's book, Living,
Loving & Learning, I was able to reflect back on some of the experiences I have had in my life that
have helped to make me the person I am today, and I was able to look into the future at what I would
like to become. I was able to see how well I know myself and what I have to offer others. I was able
to see the things I don't like about myself and determine some of the ways I can make myself better.
This is some of what reflecting on my life and looking ahead while reading Buscaglia has taught me.

town of Nephi, Utah. Like ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I lived in Salt Lake for one month. At the restaurant where I worked there was a wide variety of
people. One of my friends had a mild case of schizophrenia and was haunted by his inability to deal
with reality. If he went into the grocery store and saw a group of people laughing and joking, he
automatically thought that they were laughing at him. As a result of his paranoia, he had a hard time
making close friends and as a result of that made himself an easy target for peer pressure. He would
do anything at all to feel accepted by others, simply because he wanted so much to be what he
viewed as normal. Another guy I worked with there seemed like your average everyday Joe...
UNTIL one day I saw him when he wasn't at work. He had rings in several parts of his body, and
was wearing a great deal of hardware over his leather clothes. I barely recognized him! I said "Mac!
Is that you?" He started laughing at me and said, "You should have seen me before I got my job. I
used to have a blue Mohawk!" When I asked him why he dressed that way and had blue hair he
simply replied, "just to be different." I'm not so sure that making ourselves a target for peer pressure
or having blue hair and a pierced upper lip is what Buscaglia meant when he said we should take
risks. I think more of what he was getting at, is that we need to be ourselves. We need to stop
wondering whether those

10. Perspective Changes with Age
As a person ages, their perspective on life changes. A person eventually develops the ability to
analyze, understand the importance of lack thereof of things, and not take offense at all the little
things in life. Your perspective also changes through the dropping of preconceived ideas and by
experiencing new situations.
As you age, your ability to analyze a particular situation develops drastically. When you are young,
you think that there is one plain cut, simple, black and white answer, but as you get older you realize
there are many sides to almost everything. Eventually, people realize that there can be a "yes" and a
"no" answer to questions and that more than one person can be right in an argument.
As you get older, you begin to understand the importance or lack thereof of things. When you are an
adolescent, you blow things way out of proportion. Kids act as though not being invited to the most
recent birthday party is the most important thing. When you are older you realize that it is more
important to be financially secure, have a home and be safe. You also realize that you don't need the
latest model of the iPhone, or other technological device as long as the necessary items you have
work. As you become an adult, you begin to understand that we do not need to take offense at all the
small things in life. A person begins to understand that one person's negative comment towards them
is not all that detrimental to them on a large scale. If someone says that your

12. An Article On The Missing Link Of Success
The Missing Link #4: Productivity
By Kyre Adept
Nov 14, 2012
Are you feeling stuck or paralyzed in your life or business? Do you spend way too much time on the
internet, reading your email, drinking coffee or the equivalent because you just can 't focus on work?
The fact is that many people are slackers and drifters, with mediocre lives...
The good news is that in the teleconference series on The Missing Link to Success, we look at the
five components that I have found are central to creating a prosperous life. Here 's the formula:
PASSION + PURPOSE + POSITION + PRODUCTIVITY + PEACE OF MIND = PROSPERITY
As well as the article called The Missing Link to Success, which provides an overview of the whole
series, there is an article for each of these 'Five Ps ', so look for them wherever you found this
article! I 'm going to assume you 've read the summary article plus the articles on Passion, Purpose
and Position, because each components builds on the previous ones. Once you have reset the first
three Ps, you are ready to improve your capacity to be PRODUCTIVE.
What does this mean? Why is it important to be productive? The main dictionary definition of
productive is: "yielding favorable or useful results; being constructive; effective in achieving
specified results." (There are also specialized meanings in economics, medicine and linguistics, but
the main meanings will do.)
In work terms, productivity means being able to focus on your assigned (or assumed) tasks, and to

DISCOURAGEMENT | The Ugly Monster Named "Comparison" We've all heard it before.
"Comparison is the thief of Joy"... In more ways then one I've fallen victim to this dead end trap.
I've begun countless projects and set out on huge ambitious endeavors to only find myself quitting
due to me being stuck in a muck of unending discouragement. Don't get me wrong, creating and
making things is amazing and so fulfilling if your heart is in the right place and you don't lose sight

As I look back on my life right now the one thing that stands out to me is my constant battles with
seasons of major discouragement, whether it be with my art or music all together. I cared so much
about what failure the future might bring that I never took a chance and never actually walked
through any open doors that presented themselves along the way because I feared what people
would think if failed and didn't make it. My problem is comparison stole everything from me. It
took away my passion, my joy, my fire, and my belief in any dream to accomplish anything I put my
heart and mind into. Comparison wrecked my heart and tore me apart until I became my biggest
enemy. It's a deadly disease you know. As time goes on it can spread, and the sickness can get even
more aggressive until it consumes all that you are. It is an ugly friend, that breeds all sorts of
atrocious things... It's a monster, and I'm more than ready to take it down. I've been there... For years
I've dreamed of pursuing music and art. I knew from a young age that this was the life I wanted for
myself, doing something I loved with a purpose of bringing light and hope to others. While I knew

the burnt toast that my sister had mastered burning. I wasn't very fond of the smell, it was too
overwhelming and strong. I'm wasn't one of those people that like the smell of gas or fire. Wait
anyway why was something burning? It couldn't be more than 3:00 in the morning. The sun couldn't

18. Grace Throughout the Bible Essay
I will look at the lives of Moses, Haggai and Ester who with God's grace overcame huge obstacles in
their families, situations, and beliefs to further God's Kingdom in amazing ways. In Philip Yancey's
Book What's so Amazing About Grace? Yancey says that grace, "Contains the essence of the gospel
as a drop of water can contain the image of the sun." (Yancey, 12) This and God's promise that his
grace will never leave us makes grace an incredible theme throughout the Bible. Grace is an
incredible thing that is defined in a variety of ways. In the book Learning About Grace from the
Woman of the Bible by Debbie Morris; Morris defines grace as the "Influence or Spirit of God
operating in humans to regenerate or strengthen them." (Morris, 6) This ... Show more content on

In The Butterfly Effect of Grace by Rex G. Russell the idea that grace is one of the most important
words in the Bible is widely discussed. Russell says that grace is the single most important word to
describe God's love for us. When God speaks to Moses and fills him with his grace God is showing
us how much he loves us. Russell challenges his reader to live a life overflowing with grace. Much
like how Moses lived his life. In such a way that the people around him couldn't help but take notice
that Moses was chosen by God and with his grace was able to do work for his kingdom.
Ester overcomes her place as a woman and saves the Hebrews. In the book Flawed Families of the
Bible by David & Diana Garland we see the connections between family struggles and the grace that
surfaces within. "Yet it is in these broken places that we catch glimpses of God's grace and healing,
of God silently reaching in to touch the wound, and broken people stepping up to do what is right."
(Garland, 14) God's grace works in people and situations that have imperfections. Esther came from
a small village, was orphaned as a child, was raised by her cousin Mordecai and was Jewish. She
had a broken family and the deck was stacked against her but she had favor with God and was given
not only his grace but also the grace of the king. "And the king loved Esther above all the women,

Jonathan, my friend, just got an earful for going into the forest. All I got was a stare from my dad.
My dad didn't think words would change my decisions at this point so he just stood there. He was
far away from me, but his shadow stretched over me and his glare was like the sun itself. He would
not let me move because that was my punishment and my dad was strict in that way. If he had just
yelled at me or grounded me that would have been easier, but this was torture and I could not stand
the long silence.
So I asked "Can I go inside."
He said "Until dinner is done you will stay right here."
"But why, all I did was..."
"Because I said so!" He responded so quickly it was frightening. This was also the first time I ever
really heard him raise his voice. I could not move now even if I wanted to because that froze me
dead in place. But I then heard my salvation as my mother came out and told us dinner was done.
My father didn't say a word before going back into the house. The walls needed to be repainted and

The other day, while standing on the elevated train platform, I realized that it's always the same
people waiting for the same train. Morning after morning, the same commuters wait while knowing
a little bit about each other; who has a new bag, who brown bags it, who got a haircut, if someone is
late or on vacation. We know all of this about each other without ever saying a word. In fact, we
don't even look at one another. I share my mornings with anonymous friends I never talk to. There I
stood, on the train platform above the buzzing street traffic, waiting. I showed off my new winter
coat. Beneath I wore the smartest black and red suit made solely for my body. Straight skirt, opaque
stockings, new black Italian high heeled pumps; the ensemble cost me a fortune. It was okay. I faced
the single most important business presentation of my young career. Like the express train, I pulled
out all the stops. I looked too good for anything to go wrong. I was a nervous wreck. That's when I
noticed him. I noticed him every morning. He was the quiet faraway crush of my adult years. Slim
stature of a man always dressed in a nice suit, 'London Fog' type trench coat, he worked for an
architectural firm. I knew this because coincidentally we worked in the same office building. All

36. Personal Narrative: Broken Bone
Broken Bone(s) and more In June of 2008, I was a happy five year old running around the park at
my summer care Good Shepherd. It was a normal day we did all of our morning activities, ate lunch,
then went outside to play. I was running around, and suddenly I tripped and fell. I landed in a really
wrong way. The teachers ran over, and took me to the office, and I waited for my mom to pick me
up in tears. It was going to be a long day. What felt like hours later my mom finally arrived. We
went straight to Doctor Utterback and I took an X–RAY. We got the results and I had broken both
bones in my forearm called the Ulna and the Radius, and I also dislocated it. My mom told me that
my arm looked like a boomerang. Doctor Utterback ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I was in my bedroom rocking out to my favorite artist Taylor Swift. Song after song I was just
dancing around my room when the song Long Live by Taylor Swift came on. This was one of her
famous hair flip songs. So, I flipped my hair. I flipped it right onto my wooden desk. The bang was
so loud, my mom heard it from her room. She ran in and I was sitting on my bed holding my head
while blood was rushing out. We immediately rushed to the E.R. I had a humongous gash in my
forehead. They asked me a few questions to make sure I did not have a concussion, then they
cleaned the wound up. I wasn't even crying because it hurt, I was crying because I was terrified of
the stitches. Luckily, I didn't have to use stitches, they would use glue instead. I remember they
came in with numbing solution that I had to hold on my head for a while. After that they put the glue
on my head and held it for a bit. I remember it stung endlessly, but I was thankful for no stitches. I
went home that day with a huge band–aid over my head, scared to go to school the next day.
Everyone in my third grade surprisingly did not care at all which I was very happy about. I spent the
remainder of that year with a big band aid over my head until I could finally take it off because the
glue was allowed to come off. That was a scary day for me and I do not think I took my hand off of
my forehead to uncover the scar the whole entire day. I eventually became comfortable with it and it
is visible, but barely visible

38. How You Met From A Short Day Of Work
How We Met
Pulling up to Aunt Grace house exhausted from a long day of work. I sit in my car long enough to
give my feet a rest, thinking I did not feel like bringing this mail over here. Why did she want me to
bring the mail over today out of all days? "Hey, Arden I am in the living room come here I have
someone I would like you to meet". Aunt Grace yelled out to me while I am walking through the
heavy wooden doors with my head down watching my step so that I would not trip over the shaggy
rug that sits in front of the door when you walk in. Who? Aunt Grace! Looking up instantly smiling
trying to straighten myself up. A 5–foot 10inch guy with curly hair and a smile to die for says "hello
beautiful" while extending his hand to greet me. Blushing I looked at my aunt confused. "This is
Dillon, I talked about you so much he wanted to meet you".
"So this is who you have talked about and she lives up to everything that you have told me".
Dillon asked for my phone number, which I was eager to give him. "I am going to call you, later on,
tonight".
Okay, I won't hold my breath! Knowing I was really going to be waiting. Then Aunt grace said, "oh
yes because you know I am the matchmaker". I smiled and Dillon smiled back saying goodbye as he
walked me to my car. About to open the door, he grabbed me close hugged me and then opened the
door and said: "I will see you soon".

40. An Example of a Narrative Essay
–1Crystal D. Dozier Narrative Essay November 13, 2007 Word count: 809 My Little Blessings
Children have a tendency to bring out the very best in people. I can say I have been fortunate to
have four little blessings of my own. I consider each of them as a blessing and each day I am
reminded of how much they mean to me. My children have brought out the best in me––parts that I
never knew existed. As children grow, so do parents. I have evolved into a better person with the
courage to overcome all obstacles because of the love that I have for my children. At the age of
twenty, my life was full of constant turmoil and instability. I had a plan, and children were not a part
of it. I never imagined that I would ever have children. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Through the love for my son, I developed the ability to remain positive even during the most
difficult times in life. Although I gained the knowledge to be a more stable and positive individual,
something was still missing in my life. The missing piece soon fell into place upon the birth of my
twin boys, Irijah and Isaac. A multiple birth was a miracle within itself. It seemed unreal because no
one in my family was ever blessed with two babies. Although it took a lot of adjustment, we made it
through the baby period. The hard part did not come until they became toddlers. (During this time), I
noticed complications (in the development) (of the twins). I soon learned that although they were
perfect on the outside my boys were suffering with autism. Irijah is severely autistic while Isaac's is
mild. I knew that in order to conquer this obstacle, changes would have to be made. In the beginning
I was unaware of what needed to be done, but I never gave up. I continue to fight for my boys and
struggle to keep my sanity. This has been the toughest fight of my life because it involves a series of
changes. These changes dealt with acceptance, transition, and adaptation. These were necessary
steps because it gives the boys a chance to lead a somewhat normal life. Through the love of my
sons, I have learned to adapt to change and have gained strength and perseverance that is necessary
in life.

I wake up just enough to roll over. As I do so, the annoying, repetitive sound of my alarm clock fills

't feel like going to school today, especially since I know that Dad will be calling Mom while I 'm
gone.
As I walk to the bathroom, I grab my phone from my desk. I see that I have two new messages and
one new email. I read the first message, which is from my mom, telling me that she 'd be gone this
morning. I open the second message, and of course, it 's from Damon.
Text to Karrison from Damon:
"Good morning, beautiful. I hope you have an amazing day! I 'm still very sorry about last night. I
know I must have disappointed you, and I feel awful. I promise that I 'll make it up to you!"
Well, I don 't know how he would expect that he disappointed me. I 'm great at hiding my emotions!
I wonder how he 's going to try to make it up to me.
I walk over to the mirror and almost shriek at my appearance. My eyes are crusty, and my long,
brown hair is sticking out in all directions. I was painfully reminded of Einstein. I look down at my

48. The Power of Limiting and Empowering Beliefs and Values
Personal values are the core of our beliefs and values that we hold in and around our lives. As we
learn and grow, we accept new values and beliefs. We discard the ones that no longer work as we
grow and develop ourselves. Some of those values when growing up are ingrained by our family,
friends, community and the experiences which have contribute to our views. When we hear about
why two people fall in love, we hear that they tend to have the same values and beliefs. Those would
be our core values, how we want to live our lives. For myself, my longtime boyfriend and I have the
same core beliefs such as honesty, equality and open–mindedness to name a few. We find that these
allow us to grow and develop empowering us to make better decisions and better understand the
world we live in. We learn to try different foods, learn new things together, and find new things that
we love to do when spending time together. Even though I was raised in a religious family, my
curiosity has always led me to question everything and replace anything that no longer works for me
as my boyfriend does. I will compare my beliefs and values with someone who has very much the
same ones as me. I believe in honesty, equality, loyalty, respectfulness, open–mindedness, empathy,
generosity. I practice what I believe in by standing up for myself and the people I love, and being a
great role model. My boyfriend and I share the same values and beliefs which makes us a
compatible couple in the long

50. A Long Distance Relationship Is A Thought That Makes Most...
A long distance relationship is a thought that makes most couples cringe. The thought of being miles
upon miles away is something that can make people question the strength of their relationship.
However, this trend of long distance is something that is becoming more and more common with the
advancement of technology such as video chatting sources like Facetime or Skype. This trend is
something I've personally noticed many college students, especially freshmen, experiencing. They
have their high school sweetheart that is suddenly moving miles away to another college. They do
not know how to handle it but, of course, they try and make it work. I am much like all these people
except I never had the experience of living close to my significant other. We've always been miles
apart, seven hundred and seventy–eight to be exact. And even though it has its hard times, it always
seems worth it when we're together. I am by no means an expert, but I am hoping that through my
experiences, I can inspire someone to try and make it work. What I've figured out is how important
communication is. It is so important to communicate everything. If something he or she does makes
you uncomfortable, let him know. If he says the sweetest thing in the world to you and it makes your
heart melt, let him know. By keeping things bottled up in your head, its just going to make you
frustrated, upset, and most likely, hurt. Long distance relationships are so complicated. There is no
set formula to them.

52. Real Teammates in the Game of Basketball Essay
Basketball is supposed to be a team sport. A team can constant of ten or twelve players but only five
can compete at a team. Five players on the court working together to win. Teammates are supposed
to have their teammates back. Fight to the very end for their team to get a win. This is not always
true. Players have their own way of doing things. They think a team should be like this or that, but
they are players who do the right things for the team. I have experienced this from my team. My
teammates cab be categorized based on their performance as the "Jankin' Jerseys", the "Limitless
LeBrons", and the "Paparazzi Peters." The "Jankin' Jerseys" are a group based on their performance
on the team. The "Jankin' Jerseys" want to be able to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The thing about "Limitless LeBrons" is they give everything they have at all times. They show great
hustle and work ethics. For example, Devoted Darrell goes and work out without anyone telling
him. He loses most of his summer to train and work out with the team to better than the last year.
During the season, he stays late after practice to talk to the coach or work on an area he is weak. Not
only does a "Limitless LeBron" show great hustle and work ethic, but the desire to win and be great.
Most "Limitless LeBrons" go on to play college basketball. This is built up from all their hard work,
but more importantly the desire to win. They strive to be great and not settling for average. Most of
them give up their personal goals and focus on the team's goal. For instance, Generous Gerry gave
up his shot attempts for a better shot. Generous Gerry is our best player. He could easily average
twenty points a game, but rather force shots to get his points he passes the ball off for a better shot.
Giving our team a better chance to win. "Limitless LeBrons" are hard to come by, but everybody has
at least one on the team. It is rewarding to have one on the team because of their great hustle and
work ethic and desire to be great. The worst group on my team is the "Paparazzi Peters" teammates.

56. The Allegory Of The Cave By Jason Rene Castro And Seth David
"I Believe," written by Jason Rene Castro and Seth David, is a song about having faith. The narrator
believes that we can control the future, but more specifically, our own future. The title extensionally
defines this song by indicating all the things that he believes in and why he believes in such things.
There is a deep meaning throughout the song and it expresses how people should be good and
positive, even in the darkest times, which I believe is true.
In "The Allegory of the Cave," by Plato, there are prisoners in a cave with a fire that is located
behind them. They have always faced the wall of the cave and have only seen what was outside of
the cave from the shadows. They believe that the shadows of the objects carried are real but in
reality, it 's just a shadow of the truth. The prisoners play a game where they guess what the shadows
are and end up believing that it is the truth. However, when one prisoner escapes and faces reality,
where the sun is a source of life, he realizes that the game was pointless. He seeks for meaning and
truth from his journey outside of the cave. Socrates then insists that he must return to the cave and
share what he has found with the prisoners because it will benefit everyone as a whole. However,
when he returns and informs the prisoners, they react by not believing him and threatening to kill
him if he set them free, because they are scared of the change that would occur after knowing the
truth. Socrates believes that knowledge gained

He was never cruel and did not abuse his power; anything he did was for the greater good, and
ultimately the pack benefited from all of his decisions.
"Come on Rose! Don't dawdle now, get your things packed!" Mom's shrill voice called out from a
distance as she glided away, probably heading off to do her own packing. I sighed slightly, and
headed to my room, not even close to ready for the daunting task of packing up my bedroom.
––––
A couple of hours later, my room was finally packed. The light teal walls had been stripped of the
posters of various boy bands, the aforementioned posters rolled up neatly and placed into a bag. My
huge library consisting of several children's books and lighter novels, along with my newest task,
reading Ender's Game, were all packed into one backpack that also contained my iPod and other
electronics. In one cardboard box, I squeezed in my playthings, and my drawing materials. Another
box contained my bedding, and finally a suitcase was filled with my clothes.
I slung the back pack over my shoulder, balanced the two cardboard boxes on my hip with one hand,
and dragged my fuchsia suitcase with the other. I headed outside of my room, taking slow, careful
steps so the boxes wouldn't tip over. Some members of my pack approached me, offering their help,
but I politely declined. I was eleven years old; I could handle moving some suitcases and boxes up
three flights of stairs. The suitcase was only moderately heavily, and the boxes

70. My Life Changing Experience At The Doctor's Office
I walk through the doors with my mom. I hear crying, little kids throwing tantrums and moms
telling their kids everything would be fine. The nurses walking around with files and stethoscopes
around their necks. I was officially at the doctor's office. I had checked in and sitting in pain with all
these noises going on, thinking that it would be just a regular visit. But little did I know, from that
day on it would be a life changing experience to my identity.
My whole life's been a chase, it's a gift and a curse. Was on my way up to the top then slipped into
reverse. I was at the doctor's office for a messed up shoulder. Not thinking he would say anything
about getting older. They had me sit patiently in pain while they were scanning away my arm to see
what was the cause of all this. The doc showed me the x–rays and said "you'll be fine, it's just a
frozen shoulder blade. But do you see this here"? I immediately said yeah like, what is it? He points
his finger at the x–ray and tells me what no 18 year old, 5 foot 5 boy that is playing hockey wants to
hear, you're done growing. My stiffened like I had seen a ghost. My heart had stopped like
something was stuck in my throat. I could feel the rapids of water hit the dam behind my eyes and
when I stepped outside, that dam broke. I couldn't hold the tears back. The rest of the night I would
stay awake in my bed and keep telling myself from that point on, I swear I would go on my grind
mode.
Three weeks go by and I'm fully charged

72. A Living Hell
A Living Hell Finally, finished another gloomy day of school. Carrying a heavy load of books on
my aching shoulders, I started walking towards that same green, old gate as quickly as possible,
attempting to avoid anyone, anyone, especially Mike and his brain–dead crew. It's not far now. I left
class early, hoping they wouldn't– "OI, Terrorist!" Too late. I could hear their ignorant voices getting
closer, as their footsteps on the school asphalt were getting louder. I should have known this was
going to happen. What's the point of me trying to escape it anymore. I had a strong metallic taste in
my mouth. Blood. My face was brown, covered in dirt, as I laid there helplessly in the wet mud right
in front of the school bus stop. Everyone was just staring, laughing. The clear expression on my face
showed that I was in so much pain, which probably made it more amusing for them. Cowards. I
heard that same stupid, shrieking laugh again behind me as my right arm was pushed further up my
back, sending another huge burst of pain through my shoulder. "C'mon, break it," Someone shouted,
"Give the Muzzie what he deserves!" "I should aye, I'll be doing the school a favour." Replied Mike,
between the gales of laughter. "Get off me, you fat–" A huge hand, fingers like sausages, gripped my
curly hair and pushed my face back into the mud before I could finish what I was saying. I squeezed
my eyes shut, flailing my other arm, trying to push myself out of the sucking mud. "Someone grab

74. The Most Terrifying Machines Ever Invented By Man Essay
Rollercoasters are the most terrifying machines ever invented by man, especially to an eleven year
old. I had been looking forward to this trip for a long time getting to ride my very first rollercoaster.
Being the oldest and biggest of my two brothers I was the only one tall enough to ride on them yet.
The whole trip I had been bragging about how I was going to ride all of them. My Dad and Mom
had gotten on to me for talking about it too much because my brothers where a little bit jealous that
they couldn't ride. I didn't care I was too excited to care.
As soon as we got to the amusement park the smell of popcorn and cotton candy filled my nose. The
anticipation that had been building up for the trip all came to a boil as soon as I walked through the
turn stile. The first thing that I did was find the map and figured out where the rollercoasters were.
My dad had to run to catch up to me and keep me from getting in line by myself. I didn't know why,
I was eleven years old I could ride on the rollercoaster and my brothers couldn't I was basically an
adult now. I could do anything, or so I thought.
My Dad and I walked up to the line of the first rollercoaster that we came across. Over the line there
was a gigantic sign that read "The Diamondback", my stomach sank. The reality finally hit me, I
was about to get on this and go 100 miles per hour and get turned us upside down. All sorts of
images filled my head. Images of me flying off as we went around the turn or falling out

76. Philosophy of Life Essay
"All that I'm after is a life full of laughter" (Life After You– Daughtry). Everyone has their own
personal outlook on life. Some people feel like money and success bring them happiness, others feel
like love is all they need. As Aristotle once said, "Happiness is believed to be the most desirable
thing in the world..." (Aristotle) Everyone wants different things. I however, feel like you don't need
a lot to be happy in life, it's the little things that count. Having your family and friends, and people
who care about you, falling in love and having that person with whom you can disclose your trust
with, helping other people and putting them before yourself, expressing your feelings and emotions,
and living your life to the fullest every ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You cannot look for love, love finds you. It is unexpected and seems unrealistic, but once I
encountered what love really was everything changed. All of a sudden nothing else seems to matter;
your priorities, your thoughts, and your actions all become about this person. You want to do
everything to make them happy, and if they are then you are to. Once you find someone who you
can share anything with and who makes you feel as if you have everything in the world and you
don't need anything else, thats love. That is what I think helps you reach your ultimate happiness,
having that person who you can share your life with. To see other people pleased puts a smile on my
face. I think everyone needs help getting through hard times and problems throughout their lives,
and helping people overcome their obstacles helps me reach my ultimate happiness. Everyone goes
through road blocks in their lives. Whether they are small and they don't know what boy to date, or
big where they lost someone close to them, people need help making decision and going on in life. I
enjoy listening to peoples problems, I enjoy putting them before myself and going out of my way to
make sure the people I love and the people who need me are happy. This is what should bring
happiness into everyones life. Knowing I just helped someone conquer a predicament or help them
through a tough situation makes me feel like I mean something to the

Personal Narrative– Transformation of a Hurting Teen
Before I lost my innocence I was care–free, and full of love. But I grew up and my peers began to
tease me. "Am I really fat, ugly, stupid and dorky"? I thought. Every loving part of me was torn
apart piece by piece by my young peers like wolves on the prowl. Every fault and every flaw I
owned was brought to my attention. This teasing spawned an anger in me so strong that every aspect
of my life was destroyed. I began to rebel towards any kind of authority as a way to protect myself. I
felt that every breathing thing was out to hurt me.
When I was fifteen years of age, this rebellion turned juvenile and I began to get into quite a bit of
trouble with my parents and teachers. I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I was shyly intimidated at first, but eventually found a group of normal girls like myself.
Soon I began to change my behavior. The staff loved me and accepted me with open arms. The
structured daily schedule filled with schoolwork, chores and devotions taught me how to prioritize
my time. I began to obey the rules and was awarded certain privileges and freedoms. My heart had
not yet changed, but I was slowly beginning to ponder on God and his abounding love.
In August of 2001, I gave my life over to God and gave up my selfishly sinful ways. I recall this
memory very vividly. I was sitting in the back row of the chapel with my arms crossed and a
hardened look on my face like Popeye the sailor man. The friends I had found were just like me,
trying their hardest to please the staff, follow the rules and get out of this program and back into the
real world. But something miraculous happened. I suddenly realized I was a sinner and living a life
full of multiple defense mechanisms was going to get me nowhere. I wanted the love of Christ and
was thereby freed from the chains of self–pity and unworthiness.
My life was defined by my accepting the Christian faith and was changed for the better. I was a
living example of Christ's power and developed a slightly permanent "Kool–aid smile" on my face. I
became the beautiful creation God intended me to be. While at House of Hope, several aspects of
