Workshop Goals
 Help teachers establish an internal framework on
which any future PD or initiative (LIKE STEM or
STEAM) can be built.
 Enable teacher STEAMteams to identify student
behaviors that support 21st century habits of mind.
 Support teacher STEAMteams in developing/
implementing authentic assessments around 21st
century habits of mind.
 Facilitate teacher STEAMteam engagement in
focused communities of practice, across schools and
districts.
By the end of the spring, you will be
able to:
1. Establish a multidisciplinary STEAMteam
2. Work in a STEAMteam, using instructional rounding, to identify and
assess:
• Student and Teacher Inquiry
• Three other 21st century habits of mind (see next slide for a list)
3. Build a culture of inquiry among faculty
4. Collaborate across disciplines, schools and districts toward a common
goal

The Particulars
• STEAMteams: 3-5 teachers from different disciplines
• 1 STEAMteam per school
• 1 person designated as STEAMteam leader
• 1 meeting at AU for Jan, Feb, March, April, 2017
• Register no later than December 20 at 11:59pm
