CLASSIFICATION
Based on usage, rubber sealing strip can be classified as buried water-stop and back stick type
rubber water-stop. According to the form appearance, it can be divided into
⚫ CB-type water stop (refers to the middle hole of buried water-stop),

⚫ CP-type water stop (refers to the middle of nonporous buried water stop),
⚫ EP-type water stop (also known as externally bonded water stop or backing with water stop,
refers water stop to posted outside the middle of no pass water stop),
⚫ EB-type water stop (also known as posted outside water stop or backing with water stop, refers
to water stop posted outside the middle of the hole).
APPLICATION SCOPR & STANDARD
Rubber water stop with water swelling rubber water can be applied to underground structures like
dams, reservoirs, swimming pools, roofing and other building materials and structures used in the
deformation joint waterproof. Because concrete structure has become one of the basic parts of the
engineering, underground facilities, tunnels, culverts, water aqueducts, dams, that is mainly used for
concrete cast in the construction joints for ensuring life of the project construction. So, it is very
important in construction.
⚫ Water-stop complies with GB18173.2-2000 standard for polymer waterproof material - water stop
production. According to users' piratical requirements in different projects, different parts, different
slopes, our products can equip with cross. What's more, the angle of inside and outside rubber
water-stop connector products can also be applied to any special designs.

SEALING MATERIAL OF CHOICE IN ACCORDANCE WITH PROVISIONS:
Structures should be based on the level of importance, the amount of deformation and pressure, so
that the water-stop can be used properly.
⚫ Under normal circumstances, we generally advise you to choose the natural rubber water-stop.
⚫ When it comes to weak acid and alkali corrosive media, you should use neoprene rubber water-
stop.
⚫ When it comes to oil medium, you should use nitrile rubber water-stop.
⚫ When the application might be eroded by mold, water stop mildew should be considered. And at
this time, the water-stop you choose should reaches level 2 and 2 above.
⚫ According to the piratical using temperature
➢ -25 ℃ - 60 ℃, it is better to choose chloroprene rubber water stop.
➢ -35 ℃ - 60 ℃, it is better to choose natural rubber water stop
➢ -40 ℃ - 60 ℃, it is better to choose EPDM rubber water stop.
⚫ when it comes to waterproof sheet materials such as welding, you should use its samule synthetic
resin type water stop (EVA, PE, ECB, HDPE, PVC)
CONSTRUCTION & INSTALLATION
In construction, some or all of the rubber water-stop is buried in the concrete during pouring
process. Because there maybe are many sharp corner stones and sharp steel heads in concrete, we
need notice its installation positioning method and pouring pressure during water-stop position and
concrete-pouring process to avoid water-stop punctured.

➢ Due to the tear strength of rubber/PVC materials is lower than strong stretching by 3-5 times, its
product ability to resist external forces will significantly reduce if water-stop punctured. So, in
order to keep effective of waterproof function, specific matters tips in construction as follows:
➢ Rubber water-stop can't resist long time outdoor exposure, should prevent from the rain, do not
contact with strong polluting chemicals. It's better to keep products in stored places where
temperature changes from - 10℃ to + 30℃, and relative humidity from 40% to 80%.

During transportation & construction, you should
prevent the products from damage of the machinery
or steel bar. The storage and transportation of finished
products should be taken in the flat circumstance,
don't increase the pressure.
In construction process, the product must be installed
properly, avoid the displacement during concreting
and guarantee the water stop in the correct position in concrete.

In construction process, the product must be fixed installation, avoid the displacement during
concreting and guarantee the water stop in the correct position in concrete.
The common methods of fixing water-stop: using the additional reinforcement fixing, special fixture
fixing, lead wire and fixed templates fixing, etc. If you want to punch, only need to select edge part of
the installation area, shall not damage other parts.
When ordering the products, according to the engineering structure, calculation length of good
product design, you should provide us drawings. Because the heterotypic structure should have the
drawings and we can check the hose connection in the whole part. Because of the production
process or transportation limitation, needing connecting at the scene, you should adopt the method
of the electric heating plate
➢ vulcanizing bonding or cold bonding (rubber water-stop) or welding (plastic water-stop) method.
And if you still have difficulties in construction process, our company can send technical
personnel on-site guidance.
TRANSPORTATION & STORAGE
Products during transportation and storage, avoid direct sunlight, do not contact with heat, oil and
hazardous solvents. Do not affect the quality of rubber in contact with the substance. Finished
product should be taken straight flat, do not increase the pressure. Storage areas best kept -10℃ ~

PVC WATERSTOP
PVC water-stop, being embedded in the concrete joints, acts as a continuous watertight diaphragm to
prevent any seepage of liquids in constructions joints which are subject to hydrostatic pressure. It is
designed for expansion or contraction joint; meanwhile, it can accommodate lateral and transverse

Dumbbell with Centre Bulb
Suitable for subsidence, contraction expansion joints, including
high movement joints.

Features: The center bulb will absorb the shear movements whether in lateral or transverse direction.
Normally, the bigger the center bulbs are, the greater movements the waterstops will accommodate.
Meanwhile, the ribs not only make the concrete and waterstop bonding together, but also provide a long
fluid-flow path for water-proofing.
Ribbed with tear web
⚫ Applications: Ideal for expansion joints with large movement such
as tank ring foundation.
⚫ Features: The tear web waterstops features its U-shaped center
bulb which will tear when being subjected to large movements such as joint expansion and
differential settlements. Additionally, the ribs effectively increase the contact surface between
waterstop and concrete, therefore the waterstop can hold the surrounding concrete firmly than
others without ribs.
Base seal
⚫ Applications: Ideal for construction, contraction, control &
expansion joints flat pavement jobs. For example, they are suitable
for
runways, large containments slabs, concrete walls, backfilled retaining walls, etc.
⚫ Features: Base seal waterstop is easiest to install, as well as can be heated-welded by standard
splicing iron.
Split waterstop
Applications: Split dumbbell: ideal for construction joints with little or
no movements;
Split ribbed: ideal for expansion moving joints on or below grade.

Cap waterstop

HDPE WATERSTOP
HDPE water stops are made from polyvinyl chloride,
synthetic resin, plasticizer, stabilizer filled with a variety of
additives, sealing materials through plasticizing, extrusion
and processing production process. The product is the use of
elastomeric material having elastic deformation
characteristics play in building construction joints in leak-
proof, anti-seepage effect, resistant to corrosion, good durability.
APPLICATION
HDPE water stop Can be applied to any surface or underground construction, the formation of a long and
sturdy watertight barrier, especially for water storage and water retaining structures such as reservoirs,
cesspools, dams, subways, tunnels and retaining walls and the like.

butt-welding during installation, a series of prefabricated
stainless-steel water stops including flat or vertical L, T and

The integrity of the water stop system is dependent on proper fabricated water stop splices to achieve a
complete fluid-tight system. All directional changes and intersections shall be miter cut and spliced by
TIG welding to maintain continuity of the outside flanges and "V" expansion zone. Water stop corners and
intersections should be fabricated where strict quality control measures are maintained. The integrity of
the water stop system is dependent on proper fabricated water stop splices to achieve a complete fluid-
tight system. All directional changes and intersections shall be miter cut and spliced by welding to
maintain continuity of the outside flanges and "V" expansion zone. Water stop corners and intersections
should be fabricated where strict quality control measures are maintained.

PRODUCT INSTALLATION
◼ Proper water stop splicing, including butting
straight lengths, changes of direction, and
intersections are extremely important. Water stop
should be continuous for the extent of the joint.
Position the water stop so the "V" expansion zone
is centered in the joint. Support and secure the
water stop in position to limit displacement during
the placement of the concrete.
◼ Thoroughly consolidate the concrete around the water stop to prevent voids or honeycombing next to
the water stop. Pay particular attention to the underside of horizontally placed water stops. Intimate
contact of the concrete and water stop is necessary for full performance of a water stop. Voids next
to the water stop can significantly reduce its water stopping ability. Maintain adequate clearance
between reinforcing steel and the water stop. Typical clearance should be twice the maximum
aggregate size. Inadequate clearance can promote the formation of voids due to aggregate bridging.
It is important to maintain continuity of the entire water stop system. Splices must be properly
completed at all changes of direction, transitions, intersections, and butt joints. Any breach in
continuity can be a point of leakage.
◼ The plastic water stops that were in the fuel terminal
joints all failed due to the high heat of the fire. The
Health Protection Agency and the Major Incident
Investigation Board provided advice to prevent
incidents such as these from happening again,
including the utilization of stainless-steel water stop in
place at all concrete joints to prevent fuel from
escaping the bound walls.

Copper Waterstops are predominantly used in water
retaining structures such as dams, which receive very
high hydrostatic heads of water pressure against the
joint and provide a very high grade of performance and
give resistance to certain types of chemical attack due to
their durability, integrity and strength.
Copper Waterstops are available different types and
sizes (refer to physical dimensions) with custom shapes
and sizes formed to your requirements. A range of
factory made and quality-controlled intersections can
also be provided to decrease the problems
associated with manufacturing them on site, leaving straight welded joins for the field.

PRE-TREATMENT

affected by the climate conditions. If the curing is too fast (such as within 1 hour), the dosage of
component B can be reduced; if the curing is too slow, the dosage of component B can be increased

3) Install the front and rear screw caps filled with glue, and install the gun nozzle corresponding to the

of the glue installation process, the glue can be injected and coated.

◼ The best strength of the adhesive at room temperature curing time (25 ± 3 ℃) is 7 days. Within 7 days,
it is not allowed to carry out air tight, water tight, oil tight and other destructive tests and various
performance tests.

SEALANT JOINING
◼ If one deformation joint cannot be completely grouted in one time, the following two methods shall
be adopted for the second injection: Dry connection and Wet connection.
◼ The interval between two gluing operations is less than 8 hours. Generally, the wet connection is
adopted. The wet connection has no special requirements for the colloidal joint and can be applied
continuously.
◼ If the interval between two gluing operations may exceed 8 hours, dry connection method shall be
adopted.
◼ Treatment method of dry connection
1) At the end of the previous application of glue, the overlapping surface of inclined rough surface shall
be left.
2) When the glue is applied again, first apply a layer of glue on the inclined surface of the original glue
joint by hand or scraper, and then carry out the glue application.

1. Inspection before use of sealant: the sealant shall have bright fine joints, no foreign matters and no
binding skin. If necessary, the test section can be coated for inspection.
2. Before the construction, the oil dirt, attachments, dust and other sundries on the surface to be adhered

shall be removed to ensure that the surface to be adhered is dry and flat to prevent poor adhesion.
3. The sealant will produce different bonding effects for different media to be bonded, especially for
natural stone. Therefore, if necessary, the bonded materials can be sent to the sealant manufacturer
for test before ordering, so as to avoid unnecessary hemp smoothness to the project.
4. Air bubbles shall be prevented from mixing during mixing, and air bubbles shall be prevented from
mixing during gluing, compacted and sealed.
5. For the deformation joint after sizing, the surface of the adhesive layer shall be free of cracks and
bubbles, the surface shall be flat and smooth, the coating shall be full and free of degumming and
leakage, and the color of the gel shall be uniform.
6. The sealant shall be firmly bonded to the deformation joint, and the bonding joint shall be neat and
smooth as required. After curing, it shall be fully vulcanized into elastic form, and the colloid hardness
shall meet the design requirements.
7. Key quality control procedures during sealant construction are as follows:
①Ensure that the bonding interface is dry, clean, free of oil and dust, and exposed to a hard-structural
layer. The sealing interface of the deformation joint must be treated with a hand-held grinding wheel
or steel brush, and if necessary, with a cutting machine.
②Sealant shall be fully mixed, and the two components shall be mixed until the color is uniform.
③Make sure that the mixed sealant is used up within the required time, and the sealant beyond the
application period cannot be used together with the newly mixed sealant.
④The colloidal lapping shall be carried out in strict accordance with the lapping process requirements
during the construction and gluing process.
⑤Pay attention to one direction, and ensure that the adhesive layer is dense, so as to avoid bubbles
and lack of glue in the gluing project.
⑥Pay attention to the maintenance, and do not soak in water or damage artificially before the rubber

Usage Method
Select suitable specifications of butyl sealing tape according to the gap or joint width of different parts on
base of engineering design and technological requirements.
It is necessary to remove impurities such as water, oil and dirt on the bonded surface and residual silicone
glue on the bonded surface before using. In special circumstances, it can be cleaned with organic solvent to
keep the pasted surface clean and dry.
Then tear off the release paper on tape and stick the tape along the joint or crack. Roll the surface of the
tape by hand or tool to make it fully adhere to the surface of the tape to ensure that the tape and the
surface of the tape are closely integrated.

The geomembrane is a composite of plastic film and non-woven
fabric. The impermeability of new material geomembrane mainly
depends on the impermeability of plastic film. PVC, PE and EVA are
the main plastic films for anti-seepage application at home and
abroad. In tunnel application, ECB (ethylene vinyl acetate modified
asphalt blend geomembrane) is also designed and used.
They are polymer chemical flexible materials with small proportion, strong elongation, high adaptability to
deformation, corrosion resistance and low temperature resistance, good frost resistance.

Composite geomembrane is a kind of geosynthetic material

Size Choosing tips
◼ The selection of specifications of composite geomembrane is related to the flatness of lower cushion,
allowable tensile stress of material, elastic modulus of material, maximum water head within the laying
range and maximum particle size of covering layer. In addition to the strength required mainly by water
pressure, the thickness design shall also consider the application conditions such as exposure, buried
pressure, climate, service life, etc., and the design shall be determined according to the provisions of the
current relevant national standards Thickness and actual thickness.

◼ As the protective layer of geomembrane, geotextile can protect the impervious layer from damage. In
order to reduce ultraviolet radiation and increase anti-aging performance, it is best to use embedding
method.
◼ During construction, the sand or clay with smaller material diameter shall be used to level the foundation
surface first, and then the geomembrane shall be laid.
◼ The geomembrane shall not be too tight, and the part buried in the soil at both ends shall be corrugated.
Finally, a transition layer of about 10cm shall be paved on the geomembrane with fine sand or clay. Build
20-30cm block stone (or concrete precast block) as the anti scour protection layer.
◼ During construction, try to avoid stone directly hitting on the geomembrane. It is better to pave
geomembrane while constructing the protective layer. The connection between the composite
geomembrane and the surrounding structures shall be anchored by expansion bolts and steel plate
battens. The connection part shall be coated with emulsified asphalt (2mm thick) for bonding to prevent
leakage.

施工事项
Cautions for Construction
1. Embedded type shall be used: the covering thickness shall not be less than 30cm
2. The renovated anti-seepage system shall be composed of cushion, anti-seepage layer, transition layer
and protective layer.
3. The soil shall be solid to avoid uneven settlement and cracks, and turf and tree roots within the anti-
seepage scope shall be removed. Sand or clay with small particle size shall be laid on the contact surface
of the membrane as the protective layer.
4. When laying, the geomembrane shall not be pulled too tightly, and the part buried in the soil at both
ends shall be corrugated, especially when anchoring with rigid materials, a certain amount of expansion

5. During construction, stones shall be avoided, and heavy objects shall be directly hit on the
geomembrane. It is better to construct at the same time, lay the membrane and cover the protective
layer at the same time.
