8. CITY GAS DISTRIBUTION
DESIGN STEPS:
ESTIMATION OF MARKET DEMAND, BASED ON COMPREHENSIVE FIELD
SURVEY OF UNITS COVERING DOMESTIC, COMMERCIAL, INDUSTRIAL AND
TRANSPORT SECTORS.
DEMAND FORECAST CARRIED OUT FOR 25 YEARS, CHARGE AREA WISE.
RECONNAISSANCE ROUTE SURVEY TO IDENTIFY SUITABLE ROUTES FOR LAYING
PIPELINES, LOCATIONS FOR CITY GATE STATION, DISTRICT REGULATING
STATION & CNG STATION
PEAK HOUR CONSUMPTION ESTIMATED FOR NETWORK DESIGN.
THE SYSTEM IS DESIGNED BASED ON 25TH YEAR DEMAND AT PEAK LOAD IN A
PHASED MANNER.
NETWORK DESIGN AND OPTIMIZATION OF PIPELINE SIZE IN SOFTWARE LIKE
PIPELINE STUDIO / GAS WORKS / SYNERGY ETC.
DESIGN OF MOTHER STATION, OLS & DBS FOR CNG SUPPLY TO VEHICLES
NATIONAL / INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS ADOPTED FOR DESIGN.
PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION DONE SUBSEQUENTLY.
9. Current Business Challenges
• Launch of Electric Autos / Cars & Hybrid Cars.
• Need standardization of Batteries
• PESO approval “Not” granted for co-locating EV Charging facility with CNG dispensing facility
• Minimal infrastructure (Battery Storage, Charging Stations)
• Limited models of factory fitted CNG cars.
• Major OEMs manufacturing CNG fitted Cars : Maruti, Hyundai, Ford
• Discussion being held with Hyundai & Maruti to launch more variants of CNG cars
• Low price of Furnace Oil
• Banning of Furnace Oil by Court / Pollution Control Board
• Very high Restoration Charges and Permission Charges
• Non-Uniformity in Taxes in different states & Exclusion from GST
• Availability of domestic gas
