5182 Aluminum Alloy for Fuel Tanker
High quality aluminum sheet is the guarantee and foundation for the
transportation safety of all tanker truck. Tank body is the core of every fuel tank
truck and the raw material is main reference factor for customers to choose
high-quality tanker. The quality
difference of 5182 aluminum
alloy also invisibly influences
customers' evaluation and
purchase of tank trucks.
5182 aluminum plate is the latest
high-magnesium alloy tanker
which was born for the European
road dangerous goods
transportation agreement in recent
years. Its tensile strength and
elongation value are relatively high.
In addition, the mechanical
properties of the weld can reach
the minimum value specified for
the base metal.
Aluminum alloy tanks have good
compatibility with most chemical
media and foods such as acetone,
benzene, gasoline, diesel,
kerosene, glacial acetic acid, etc., and the transportation range is relatively
wide. Its maintenance cost is very low and will not rust when scratched. It has
a typical service life of about 15-20 years.
5182 alloy sheet undergoes welding, wrapping or rolling processes, and is
mainly used in the cylinders, heads and bulkhead of the fuel tankers. Its tensile
strength is more than 280MPa, the yield strength is more than 125, and the
elongation is more than 26%.
Its tensile strength is slightly better than 5052 and 5083 aluminum alloys, and
its yield strength is also better than 5052 and 5083 alloys. Because the alloy
2. contains a trace element Si, it has excellent welding performance, which can
be used for gas welding, electric welding, seam welding and argon arc
welding.
At the same time, it has strong corrosion resistance and has good cold working
performance, but it can’t be heat strengthened. It also has good processing
and forming properties. Haomei Aluminum has rich tempers of 5182 alloy.
5754 Automotive Aluminium Alloy
Aluminum alloy has good mechanical properties and its density is only 1/3 of
that of steel. It also has good thermal conductivity, second only to copper. Its
machinability is 4.5 times higher than that of iron, and the naturally formed
oxide film on its surface has good corrosion resistance. Therefore, aluminum
has become the most ideal for the lightweight automobile.
Al 5754 is a typical Al-Mg aluminum alloy. It feaures medium strength, good
corrosion resistance, weldability and easy processing and forming. This
aluminum plate is widely used in automobiles, which can be used in door
panels, fuel tank materials, engine hoods, and trunk covers.
5754 h111 aluminum is a commonly used one. Its price is much higher than
that of traditional galvanized steel sheet, so it is rarely processed and
manufactured in middle and low-end cars. At present, Haomei 5754 aluminum
has been a choice of many car manufacturers.
By using 5754 aluminum sheet, it reduces the weight of the car without
reducing the capacity of the car, and the center of gravity of the body is
3. reduced, making the car more stable and comfortable.
Due to the good energy absorption of aluminum, it has obvious advantages in
collision safety. The deformation zone at the front of the car will produce
wrinkles during a collision, which can absorb a large amount of impact, thereby
protecting the driver and passengers behind.
Compared with 5052 aluminum, the hardness of 5754 h111 aluminum is
relatively lower, but has better toughness. It is widely used in the production of
welded structures, storage tanks, pressure vessels, ship structures and
offshore facilities, transportation tanks and other products.
At the same time, it can also be applied to those occasions that require
excellent processing performance, excellent corrosion resistance, high fatigue
strength, high weldability and medium static strength.
5083 Marine Grade Aluminum Plate
5083 plate is a commonly used aluminum plate in the shipbuilding. It is of
stable performance, which can resist the corrosion of the atmosphere, steam,
water and other media in the ocean climate for a longer period. Its low density,
high strength, high rigidity and corrosion resistance make aluminum ships 20%
lighter than ships built with steel or other alloy materials.
5083 aluminum alloy has excellent corrosion resistance and welding
performance, coupled with high strength, which is specially designed for
welding structures that require maximum welding strength and efficiency. It can
be anodized to increase the corrosion resistance.

6. 2219 Aluminum in Aerospace Industry
Aviation aluminum is mainly used in the manufacture of fuel tanks and
combustion aid tanks in rockets and spacecraft. 2014 aluminum sheet is the
earliest choice. Later, due to the development and maturity of automatic
welding technology, 2219 aluminum was used instead. In terms of stress
corrosion cracking performance, 2219 alloy is superior to 2014 alloy. The fuel
tanks of the American Thor-Deha and SatiimS-II are all made of 2219
aluminum alloy.
2219 aluminum sheet is a heat-resistant alloy with low temperature
performance (including the toughness of the welded joint) that also increases
with the decrease of temperature. Therefore, when the 2219 alloy is used to
manufacture liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen containers, the reliability at the
temperature of liquid hydrogen can be guaranteed according to the principle of
room temperature strength standard detection.
Except for the fuel and combustion aid tanks, the other structures of the rocket
and the space shuttle are the same as those of the aircraft that most of them
use 2024 and 7075 alloys. 2219 aluminum plate is also used. he astronaut
cabin of the American space shuttle is made of aluminum.
Most of the main parts of the skeleton and the joystick of the planted aircraft
are made by cutting high-strength aluminum alloy 7075-T73 bar material,
which is thin, light and has high strength. Other parts such as the bracket, the
pressing plate folding device, the protective plate, the door and the skin plate,
7. the nitrogen cylinder of the two thrusters, etc.
are made of the medium strength alloy
6061-T6 alloy with good forming properties.
2219 aluminum plate is an Al-Cu-Mn
high-strength aluminum alloy. It has
excellent high and low temperature
mechanical properties and weldability, and
has low stress corrosion cracking sensitivity.
It is widely used in the structure of
aerospace vehicle tanks.
Since the 1970s, it has completely replaced
2014 aluminum alloy as the main material of
the storage tank, and it has been used until
now 2A14 aluminum alloys are prone to liquefaction cracks during fusion
welding. Therefore, the new generation of carrier rocket tanks was developed
with better weldable 2019 aluminum plate as the main material of the
propellant tank.
