CHILD HEALTH

2. INTRODUCTION
 Maternal and child health (MCH) is a program that
is delivered through partnerships and builds on
other community programs. It is a proactive ,
preventative and strategic approach to promoting
the good health and development of on-reserve
pregnant first nations women and families with
infants and young childrens.

3. MATERNAL HEALTH
 Maternal health is the health of women during
pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period .It
encompasses the health care dimensions of family
planning, preconception, prenatal and postnatal care
in order to ensure a positive and fulfilling
experiences in most cases, and reduce maternal
morbidity and mortality in other cases.

4. CHILD HEALTH
 The care and treatment of children. Child
health is the purview of pediatrics , which
became a medical specially in the mid-
nineteenth century. Before that time the care
and treatment of childhood diseases were
included within such areas as general
medicine, obstetrics , and midwifery.
