Cyclists are vulnerable road users who often suffer head injuries in accidents. The number of cyclists has risen over 22% in the past decade. Most existing bicycle reflectors are not effective at making cyclists visible. The document proposes a portable LED light system that attaches to bicycle helmets. The lights could indicate turns and braking via a remote control mounted on the handlebars. This proposed system would make cyclists more visible in traffic in a portable, affordable and sustainable way without requiring special helmets or bicycles.
