1. Skins - camera movement.
The first camera movement we see in the cafe is a dolly shot, it moves
around Tony and Sid. This shot tells us what location they are in and
what characters are also in this scene.
In Michelle entrance to the café we get a tilt up and down her body, this
camera movement tells us a lot about her character, that she is very
confident and thinks that she is gorgeous and also that she knows other
people think this too.
Also in the café we have a zoom on Michelle and Tony’s lips, kissing this
shows us that they both don’t care about what other people think and are
very comfortable with their sexuality.
The next camera movement we see is in the all girls’ school, while Tony
is auditioning for the choir. This movement is a pan, the first thing we see
on this shot is the piano while hearing somebody singing (nobody knows
yet who is the boy singing) then we see a women teacher looking very
pleased this tells us that the character singing is very good and she really
likes his voice. Then we move from the teacher to close up on Tony’s
face this reveals who’s the voice and tells us that Tony is multi talented,
then the camera moves to the girls in the choir watching Tony sing, we
see their reactions to him, this tells us that all the girls fancy Tony. After
that we see Tony’s full body this tells the audience that Tony actually
knows that he is a very good singer why the way he is stood and looking
around and also doing this for girl’s attention.
When Sid arrives at mad twatters house we have a zoom on his
registration plate which is ‘MD TW4T’ it emphasises the fact that he is
actually mad. Also outside mad twatter house we have a pan on the front
of the house, we see bars on the windows this lets the audience no what
Sid is letting him self into if he goes in. It also tells us that Sid must be
very brave and wants something real bad to be going in a place like that.
A dolly shot has been used while Tony is walking to towards his friend in
school and talking to a man on the way. This is used to show that Tony is
moving and could even suggest he is a very busy person and as he
doesn’t really stop to talk to the man, he keeps walking also could
suggest about his character that he is always on the go.
There is a zoom shot used on Jal while she is reading in a class. I believe
this shot was used to show her emotions as while she is reading the

2. teacher is crying very loudly. So it is emphasising the fact that jal is
getting very annoyed. But it also tells us that jal must be a very patient
person as she doesn’t say anything about how she is feeling.
