2. Academic Project____________________________________________________________
“ESTABLISHMENT OF HYDRO CARBON CLEANING FOR ELEMENTS BARREL in MICO
BOSCH”
Description:
Element is one of the vital component of fuel injection pump. The assembly of a plunger
and barrel is known has element. The element is the heart of fuel injection pump as element is
responsible for delivering the required amount of fuel at required pressure at which fuel
should be delivered to the fuel injector in right time. About 700 types of barrel is being
manufactured based on the consumer requirement.
The MFE plant in BOSCH, Bangalore deals with the manufacturing of elements. Presently
after the FMG operation the under process barrel is been cleaned manually by manual bore
brushing operation. To improve the productivity and running quality level this operation is
been experimented with machine cleaning operation. The main objective of our project was
to propose suitable machine for this operation and a new process flow.
Result:
We wear successfully in answering the cause of problem by providing better visualization
system and we proposed The machine termed has DURR Eco clean which successfully
accomplished the demands for the quality of parts required increasingly complex solution for
industrial parts cleaning.
We then finally proposed new process flow for barrel process operation. By which 3
manual process were eliminated and machine process was been introduced.
We were successful in reduced the time taken for this operation and achieved the required
running quality for the barrel operation.
