Botanical Garden
Of Bogotá (Engativá)The Botanical Garden offers a
charming space due to the beauty of its flora. One of
the most important tourist places in Bogotá is the
Botanical Garden, located in Engativá. It owes its
name to the renowned naturalist, mathematician and
astronomer José Celestino Mutis. It is a city within an
ecosystem. When you visit it, you will find different
types of plants and species, among which the Flor de
Mutis stands out as the emblem of the garden. It also
has collections of orchids and wax plants that add a
unique touch to the landscape. It is one of the best
tours in Bogotá, for its modern Herbarium where you
can meet different species and plant trees in its

various ecological events for young and old.
Monserrate
Located at 3,152 meters high in the
Eastern Hills, Monserrate is the most

The Gold Museum

It is in the municipality of Tocancipá, in the

1983, by Jaime Duque Grisales, a Colombian
civil aviation personality and the first national
chief pilot of the Avianca airline. He wanted to
create a cultural and recreational space for the
whole family, with the aim of generating
profits to help non-profit organizations
dedicated to serving the elderly, adults and
children.
Quevedo's fountain
El Chorro de Quevedo is an ideal walk to learn
about local history. One of the best tourist areas in
Bogotá is Chorro de Quevedo, a beautiful square
in the center, surrounded by colonial buildings. It
is located near the hermitage of San Miguel del
Príncipe.
Carrera Septima
Originally, Carrera Séptima was a colonial street,
drawn on an old indigenous road that the Spanish
called the Camino de la Sal or Tunja, because it
communicated first with the indigenous town of
Usaquén and the Villa de Zipaquirá and much
further north with the current capital of Boyacá.
Parque de la 93
Is a tourist park in the north of Bogotá.
It is in the town of Chapinero, between

National Park
The National Park dates from the year 1934,
when it was inaugurated by the President of
Colombia, Enrique Olaya Herrera. In his honor,
the second oldest park in Bogotá was born. The
National Park with 78 years of experience
serving citizens, is one of the most emblematic
of the capital, has 65 hectares that cover from
Avenida Circunvalar to Carrera 7 between streets
39 and 36 Sur, its easy access makes the This

The Chingaza National Natural
Park
Is a natural and cultural treasure of central

The Salt Cathedral
Is an enclosure built inside the salt mines
of Zipaquirá, in the department of
Cundinamarca, Colombia. It is considered
one of the most notable architectural and
artistic achievements of Colombian
architecture, 2 for which reason it has even
been awarded the title of architectural
jewel of modernity.3 The importance of
the Cathedral lies in its value as heritage
cultural, religious and environmental.
Ajiaco
One of the emblematic dishes of this
typical Bogota cuisine is the ajiaco
from Santa Fe. This soup, made with
various types of potatoes, chicken,
corn, guascas and bathed with a
good portion of milk cream and
capers, is accompanied by a plate of
cooked rice and a generous slice of
avocado. So more than one will start
to sweat (literally) if he manages to
finish with all the ajiaco.
Almojabana
Is a traditional Colombian cheese
bread and it is delicious to
accompany it with a cup of very hot
aguadepanela, perfect to accompany
rainy afternoons.
Pan de bono

not really. It is round and threaded, although
the traditional one is shaped like a short strip.
In its preparation, wheat flour is not used, but
corn estarcí, together with fermented cassava
starch, cheese and egg, which after being
kneaded, form sallo portions; usually flattened

breakfasts, afternoon snacks os at any time of
the day, being consumed mostly with chocolate

Empanada
A meal consisting of a dough filled
with cheese, vegetables, chicken,
fish, beef or other ingredients is
called empanada. Empanadas are
generally baked, although there are
also fried, grilled and steamed
empanadas.
Canelazo
This drink is widely consumed throughout the
chain of the Andes. In Colombia, it is found
almost in every corner of the towns of the
Cundiboyasense high plateau, where it has
been consumed for years, especially in the
evenings when the cold weather does not give
truce.
Papa Rellena
Is a typical frying. It consists of a fried
mass of cooked potato, stuffed with beef,
chicken, cheese, onions, olives, hard-
boiled eggs, among other chopped
ingredients.
Arroz con Leche
Rice pudding is a typical dessert of
Colombian gastronomy, it is
prepared by slowly cooking rice
pudding and sugar. It is served hot
or cold.
Arepa de choclo
It is a preparation like a pancake that
instead of wheat flour incorporates grains
of young corn or corn flour, and
ingredients such as peasant cheese or
curd, panela or sugar, custard, egg, salt,
wheat flour, corn flour, milk, butter,
among others, which is cooked in a
comal, budare or frying pan.
Arepa de Queso
The Arepa is a typical Colombian
dish. We serve hot arepas for
breakfast with butter and cheese,
and a good cup of hot chocolate.
These arepas are an essential part of
the daily diet of Colombians.
Changua
The Changua The changua is a
traditional dish of Colombian
gastronomy, typical of the
Cundiboyasense highlands. Its
preparation is made mainly of
water-milk, eggs, onion, salt and
coriander. Depending on the
province, some choose to
accompany it with stale bread, or
with delicacies such as the calado of
Samacá, the almojábana of Paipa,
the arepa of Ventaquemada.
Caldo de Costilla
The rib broth is a typical Colombian
dish, from the Andean region. It is

Tamal Santafereño
Colombian tamales, unlike others, consist

brave fighter and heroine of
Independence in New Granada.
Monument to the Heroes
(Bogotá)
The Monument to the Heroes is a monument
in Bogotá, Colombia, dedicated to the memory
of the soldiers of the different armies that
participated in the independence of the
Bolivarian countries. It was planned during the
government of Laureano Gómez to celebrate
the memory of the soldiers who gave their
lives for independence and those who fought
against communism in the Korean War.
Jorge Eliécer Gaitán
In the city there are several monuments in
honor of Jorge Eliécer Gaitán, which on this
day also allow us to remember his legacy. One
of them is in El Gaitán Park, on Carrera 55 bis
- between 78th and 79th streets, whose author
is Luis Pinto Maldonado, who also made
Gaitán's death mask. Pinto was based on a
photo taken during the presidential campaign
between 1944 and 1946.

One of the most important tourist places in Bogotá is the Botanical Garden, located in Engativá. It owes its name to the renowned naturalist, mathematician and astronomer José Celestino Mutis.
