1. Who are Mrs Bostock and Albert?
Answer: Mrs Bostock was the director of the play and Albert was a first time actor who was going to play
the role of a policeman.
2. Why did she ask Albert to stand in the wings?
Answer: She found Albert a little nervous and asked him to stand in the wings so that he would feel the
action and get comfortable.
3. What was Shirley’s job?
Answer: Shirley’s job was that of a prompter.
4. Who were the characters on the stage while Albert was watching the play from the wings? What were
they talking about?
Answer: There were two brothers -one of them was good and the other seemed wayward-. The brothers
did not like each other.
The younger one was giving some information about an accident he was involved in.
5. When was Albert supposed to make his entrance?
Answer: Albert was to make his entry when the two brothers were arguing about the accident.
6. Apart from the brothers and Albert who else was in the play?
What role was the person playing?
Answer: There was a girl who was enacting the role of a maid. She was going in out of the stage,
performing her role in an excellent manner.
7. Why did Albert fumble with his script?
Answer: Albert sensed that something had gone wrong. He felt that he had missed his part.

strength of mind and he really gears himself to face the challenge- is ready to face the audience.
